Conflicts between individuals are quite natural and they can act as an positive contributing factor not only to the development of an individual but also to the organization to which one belongs. But too much conflicts will always induce dissatisfaction and stresses, which will be destructive and harmful to all of them, and that is why we are always tying to seek(find) out the causes for the origination of conflicts and remedies to cope with them effectively. The present study, as the first one in a series of studies which our researchers contemplate executing, was designed to develop a measure of job satisfaction for dental laboratory technicians. One job satisfaction measure and two job satisfaction related measures, one for faithfulness for the job and the other for environmental characteristics of dental laboratory were newly developed. The newly developed measures were comprised of a total of 38 items, which were each 12 items for job satisfaction and faithfulness for the job and 14 items for environmental characteristics of dental laboratory With the aid of factor analysis for principal components and categorization of items by panel of professionals, items of each measure were grouped into 2-4 subscales. Contribution to internal consistency was the fina) criterion for an item's inclusion in a subscale. Internal consistency reliability of each item was attested through the statistical analysis on the data obtained from 55 structured questionnaires. Reliability of internal consistency of subscales in each measure of job satisfaction and faithfulness for the job ranged from 0.74 to 0.79 and 0.90-0.91 respectively. The result from this research came to draw the following conclusions. 1. Validity and internal consistency reliability of all the items of each measure was attested. 2. The newly developed measure of job satisfaction was found to be appropriate for (measuring the degree of job satisfaction of) dental technicians, as well as for (other) dental office personnels.
Enhancement of the anisotropic photocurrent in ferroelectric oxides by strain gradients

The phase separation of multiple competing structural/ferroelectric phases has attracted particular attention owing to its excellent electromechanical properties. Little is known, however, about the strain-gradient-induced electronic phenomena at the interface of competing structural phases. Here, we investigate the polymorphic phase interface of bismuth ferrites using spatially resolved photocurrent measurements, present the observation of a large enhancement of the anisotropic interfacial photocurrent by two orders of magnitude, and discuss the possible mechanism on the basis of the flexoelectric effect. Nanoscale characterizations of the photosensitive area through position-sensitive angle-resolved piezoresponse force microscopy and electron holography techniques, in conjunction with phase field simulation, reveal that regularly ordered dipole-charged domain walls emerge. These findings offer practical implications for complex oxide optoelectronics.
국민참여포털의 운영실태 분석 : 참여마당신문고를 중심으로

정부는 그동안 국민참여 확대를 위한 다양한 사업을 지속적으로 추진하여 왔다. 특히 2006년 8월 정식서비스를 시작한 참여마당신문고는 행정기관 별로 운영되던 참여채널을 통합하여 국민참여를 위한 단일접점을 제공하는 세계최초의 국민참여포털로 국내뿐만 아니라 해외에서도 많은 관심과 주목을 받고 있다. 현재 참여마당신문고는 대규모 확대∙연계 사업 착수를 눈앞에 두고 있다. 이러한 시점에서 본 연구는 참여마당신문고의 국민참여, 포털, 시스템 운영 측면에서 운영실태를 분석하여 문제점을 도출하고 개선방안을 제시하였다. 분석결과 참여마당신문고는 시스템적으로 참여채널의 통합을 통해 국민참여포털의 구축에는 성공하였지만, 국민참여포털을 통해 실현하고자 하는 민원∙제안 처리의 효율성 제고, 대국민서비스 향상, 온라인상에서의 국민과의 의사소통 활성화를 구현하는 데에는 많은 문제점이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 참여마당신문고에 대한 지속적인 점검과 서비스 개선이 이루어져야 할것이며, 아울러 향후 추진되는 참여마당신문고의 3단계 사업에 있어서도 단순히 지방자치단체 및 공공기관 참여채널의 통합만이 아닌 국민참여 활성화와 현 운영과정의 문제점을 고려하여 이루어져야 할 것이다. The Korean government has initiated various activities to increase public participation. In particular, ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’is a government single face of integrating various public participation channels. Since Sinmoongo is a first public participation portal in the world, it has received many attentions from public agencies, the public and even foreign countries. Currently ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’is ready for large scale extension. The purpose of this study is to analyze the operation of ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’and suggest several operating directions for increasing public participation. The analysis has been done from three aspects of public participation, portal and system operation. The result shows that‘ Participation Networks Sinmoongo’is successful in constructing a government’s single face of public participation but has some problems in operating the system. ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’ needs to be more efficient in treating public suggestions and appeals, and puts more efforts on improving the quality of public services and activating online communications with the public. Before extending the number of public agencies to be integrated to ‘Participation Networks Sinmoongo’, the Korean government has to examine operational problems and fix them.
Hypothalamic lipid-laden astrocytes induce microglia migration and activation

<P>Obesity-induced hypothalamic inflammation is closely associated with various metabolic complications and neurodegenerative disorders. Astrocytes, the most abundant glial cells in the central nervous system, play a crucial role in pathological hypothalamic inflammatory processes. Here, we demonstrate that hypothalamic astrocytes accumulate lipid droplets under saturated fatty acid-rich conditions, such as obese environment, and that the lipid-laden astrocytes increase astrogliosis markers and inflammatory cytokines (TNF alpha, IL-1 beta, IL-6, MCP-1) at the transcript and/or protein level. Medium conditioned by the lipid-laden astrocytes stimulate microglial chemotactic activity and upregulate transcripts of the microglia activation marker Iba-1 and inflammatory cytokines. These findings indicate that the lipid-laden astrocytes formed in free fatty acid-rich obese condition may participate in obesity-induced hypothalamic inflammation through promoting microglia migration and activation.</P>

Objective: To investigate the long-term outcomes of percutaneous treatment of benign biliary strictures using temporary placement of a retrievable expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) covered stent. Materials and Methods: We retrospectively analyzed the outcomes of 148 patients (84 male and 64 female; age range, 11–92 years) who underwent percutaneous transhepatic placement and removal of a retrievable PTFE-covered stent for the treatment of benign biliary strictures between March 2007 and August 2019 through long-term follow-up. Ninety-two patients had treatment-naïve strictures and 56 had recurrent/refractory strictures. Results: Stent placement was technically successful in all 148 patients. The mean indwelling period of the stent was 2.4 months (median period, 2.3 months; range, 0.2–7.7 months). Stent migration, either early or late, occurred in 28 (18.9%) patients. Clinical success, defined as resolution of stricture after completing stent placement and removal, was achieved in 94.2% (131 of 139 patients). The overall complication rate was 15.5% (23 of 148 patients). During the mean follow-up of 60.2 months (median period, 52.7 months; range, 1.6–146.1 months), 37 patients had a recurrence of clinically significant strictures at 0.5–124.5 months after removal of biliary stent and catheter (median, 16.1 months). The primary patency rates at 1, 3, 5, 7, and 10 years after removal of biliary stent and catheter were 88.2%, 70.0%, 66.2%, 60.5%, and 54.5%, respectively. In the multivariable Cox proportional hazard regression analysis, sex, age, underlying disease, relation to surgery, stricture type, biliary stones, history of previous treatment, and stricture site were not significantly associated with the primary patency. Conclusion: Long-term outcomes suggest that percutaneous treatment of benign biliary strictures using temporary placement of retrievable PTFE-covered stents may be a clinically effective method.
