This is a study of the natural convection of a fluid contained in a long horizontal enclosure of rectangufar cross section with a large number of fins and with one lowerwallheated and the other cooled. Two-dimensional motion is assumed. The governing vorticity and energy transport equations are solved by an implicity alternating direction finite difference method for Grashof number and for fin ratio. Temperature distribution and stream function, vorticity, velocity distribution are solved. a transient and steady state are investigated from them. Local Nusselt number and average Nusselt number are computed along the Y-direction at cold wall.

<P>Arteriovenous (AV) shunts are relatively uncommon in the liver and usually associated with advanced hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). In patients with massive AV shunts complicating advanced HCC, transarterial chemoinfusion therapy is not effective because chemotherapeutic agents go through the shunts and may cause systemic toxicity as well as decrease the chemotherapeutic effects against the tumor. We report two cases of successful transcatheter venous embolization of massive AV shunts complicating advanced HCC using the Amplatzer Vascular Plug for transarterial chemoinfusion therapy.</P>

Manuka oil sometime named New Zealand's tea tree oil is soluble in oil and come from nature. The α -pinene extracted from Manuka oil and R-limonene which is one of the component of extracted Citrex from Grapefruit were used to estimate the antimicrobial activity and to improve the capability of antiseptic. Disk diffusion and broth dilution methods were used to measure the antimicrobial activity. Escherichia coli which is gram-negative bacteria and Staphylococcus aureus which is gram-positive bacteria were used as strain. The antimicrobial activity of Manuka oil and α -pinene for Escherichia coli’ Staphylococcus aureus is similar when the concentration of Manuka oil and a -pinene is 10㎕. However, Antimicrobial activity of Manuka oil for Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus is better than that of a -pinene when the concentration of Manuka oil and a -pinene is low. Antimicrobial activity of Citrex is superior to that of R-limonene. The proper ratio of Maunka oil and Citrex can improve the antimicrobial activity. The proper ratio obtained from studies was 75% of Maunka oil and 25% Citrex for Escherichia coli,25% of Maunka oil and 75% Citrex for Staphylococcus aureus.

Boiling curves for water cooling of high temperature material were obtained. Heat Flux was calculated from measured temperature in the test material (copper block) by means of extrapolation based on the finite difference equation of heat conduction. ( q= λ-△T/△x |_x=0). Effect of nozzle exit velocity in water jet was studied, and effect of nozzle shape(ex. interference-plate nozzle, non-interference-plate nozzle) was also studied. The boiling curve obtained is not always monotonous from the convection regime to tansition boiling regime, but has a "sudden variation" in convection regime within a certain wall temperature range at some conditions.
Effects of Mixing Ratio on the Mechanical and Thermal Properties of Polyelectrolyte Complex Film

Polyelectrolyte complex films were prepared with two compounds, chitosan and poly(ethylene glycol)-monosuccinate, using a casting in order to synthesize a polyelectrolyte complex film with various mole ratios of chitosan and poly(ethylene glycol)-monosuccinate. The solution properties of isolated PEC were investigated for the effects of FTIR, pH value, Brookfield viscosity and cell viability assay using MTT staining. The PEC films were evaluated for mechanical properties by typical stress-strain curve, far thermal properties by DSC and TGA and for surface morphology Properties by SEM. Furthermore, the surface resistance, moisture regain and water content of the films were characterized. The solution properties were affected by several factors including the chitosan content in the PEC, the mixing ratio of PEG and chitosan, and pH. Several PEC in acidic conditions exhibited film formation under appropriate conditions of mixing ratio and chitosan concentration in the mixing process. These PEC films were found to have sufficiently flexible and stable properties due to their hydrophilic structure, which was farmed by the oppositely charged interaction between PEG-MS and chitosan matrix. The results showed the potential applicability of chitosan and poly(ethylene glycol)-monosuccinate films as a biocompatible polymer.
