In many cases, acute cerebrovascular disease is accompanied by abnormal electocardiograms. Also, though rather uncommon, acute myocardial infraction is also seen. The mechanism of its occurance is uncertain but it is thought to be related to coronary artery spasms, an abnormal autonomic nervous system, and a catecholamine increase. A female patient of 34 years of age came to the hospital because of sudden headache accompanied by substernal chest pain. A subarachnoid hemorrhage due to a cerebral aneurysm rupture had occured, and there was ST segment elevation in lead II, III, and aVF of the electrocardiogram. A cardiac enzyme test, an echocardiography, and a coronary angiography were performed, and she was diagnosed to have acute myocardial infarction due to coronary artery spasm. Clipping of the aneurysm was performed. With the use of nitrate and an angiotension converting enzyme inhibitor, the condition of the patient improved.
Prostaglandin F2α Controls Reactive Oxygen Species in Bovine Corpus Luteum

Luteolysis is a cyclical regression of the corpus luteum in many non-primate mammalian species. Prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) from the uterus and ovary induces functional and structural luteolysis in bovine. The action of PGF2α is mediated by PGF2α receptor located on the luteal steroidogenic and endothelial cell membranes. PGF2α plays an important role in regulating nitric oxide production in endothelial cells of the bovine corpus luteum. Nitric oxide production and nitric oxide synthase activity are stimulated and induced by PGF2α in luteal endothelial cells. Moreover, the reactive oxygen species inhibits progesterone secretion in bovine luteal cells and induces apoptosis. Thus, the interaction between PGF2α and reactive oxygen species provides important aspects in physiology of the corpus luteum forfunctional and structural luteolysis.

Industrial Production of korea has developed rapidly not only in quantity but also in quality, that has driven korea into the world market. Thus korea confronts the need of new industrial districts, and constructing new factories of enlarging existing factories. Accordingly, chung cheong book do, dea jun and chung choeng nam do districts are arising new industrial districts. But, constructing or moving factories lead to new problems which were not found in old factory districts. Here, those problems are studied and analyzed through real proving method. The results are as followings. The quality control can be definde as improving and controlling the quality of goods to the level that can be agreeable to the request of demanders, with the lowest price, within the requested time.

Emergency Medicine is a medical specialty that provides comprehensive emergency care. The spectrum of emergency medicine includes humanity as well as medical care for emergency patients. Since the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine has been established and the training course for emergency residents has begun, quality improvement of the training course still remains to be one of the most important issues in emergency medicine. This report is to understand the current status of training of emergency residents and to improve the quality of training of emergency residents. The survey was performed with questionnaires regarding current status of training and opinions to improve quality of training. The questionnaires were sent to all emergency physicians and emergency residents registered to the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine via an electronic mail or a printed letter. The response rates were 49.6% for emergency physicians and 35.8% for emergency residents. On the basis of the result of this survey, we suggest five proposals for improving the quality of resident training course. These include complete adherence of each institution to training guidelines presented by the Korean Society of Emergency Medicine, development of the education program compatible to each institution, shortening of length of training duration from 4 years to 3 years, promotion of the training environment, and introduction of evaluation examination to the training course.

Ogilvie's syndrome is a descriptive term referring to a clinical entity in which the signs and symptoms of rapid colonic distension are present without evidence of mechanical obstruction. The pathogenesis of pseudoobstruction remains unknown. Because it has been associated with such a wide variety of concomitant conditions, it is likely that several pathophysiologic mechanisms may trigger the pseudoobstruction. This syndrome is clinically important because of impending colonic perforation due to marked colonic distension. We experienced a case of Ogilvie's syndrome associated with pancreas cancer and reported with the review of the literature.
Quality Characteristics of Chicken Breast Surimi as Affected by Water Washing Time and pH Adjustment

This study was carried out to compare the quality properties of chicken breast surimi manufactured by four different procedures/methods. Surimi was made from chicken breast by washing two (T1) or four times (T2) with water as well as by pH adjustments at 3.0 (T3) or 11.0 (T4). The contents of moisture and crude fat were significantly higher in the surimi manufactured from pH-adjusted material than after washing. Again, collagen and yield were significantly higher in chicken breast surimi manufactured from washed than pH-adjusted samples, whereas crude protein was higher in the pH-adjusted than washed surimi samples. There was no significant difference in myofibrillar protein content among the surimi manufactured after different washing times and differences following pH adjustments were found. T4 showed highest myofibrillar protein content rating among the surimi samples. All physical characteristics were higher in pH-adjusted chicken breast surimi than in T1 and T2 washed surimi samples. The pH-adjusted surimi had higher hardness, gumminess and chewiness than washed surimi samples (p<0.05). The chicken breast surimi made by pH adjustments had higher lightness (L*) than when made by washing times, whereas pH 3.0-adjusted surimi samples had lower whiteness (W) then the other surimi samples. Myoglobin content was significantly higher in the surimi manufactured from pH-adjusted chicken breast samples.
