      • 太谿穴의 臨床 活用에 대한 文獻考察

        Literally, the mean of Tae-gye is highest brook. And on the basis of the acupuncture theory, Tae-gye point is the Soo earth point and source point of the Kidney Channel as well. In addition, Tae-gye point is one of the Yang-Returning Nine points. We were trying to study bibliographically on the Tae-gye point because Tae-gye point can be used very broadly across the symptoms in the theoretical aspect described above. As a results, we found out that according to the classical books of acupuncture, Tae-gye point is entering point of the Meridian Water as a source point and can be used at both Kidney-Sufficient Syndrom and Kidney-Deficient Syndrom. And Tae-gye can be applied to the disease of kidney or bladder that is urogenital symtoms, Also, Tae-gye is an useful option of tooth-ache, asthma, indigestion, constipation, edema etc whose cause is related with decrease of Kidney ki.

        Differences in the intensity of light-induced fluorescence emitted by resin composites

        <P><B>Abstract</B></P> <P><B>Background</B></P> <P>The aims of this study were to compare the intensities of fluorescence emitted by different resin composites as detected using quantitative light-induced fluorescence (QLF) technology, and to compare the fluorescence intensity contrast with the color contrast between a restored composite and the adjacent region of the tooth.</P> <P><B>Methods</B></P> <P>Six brands of light-cured resin composites (shade A2) were investigated. The composites were used to prepare composite discs, and fill holes that had been prepared in extracted human teeth. White-light and fluorescence images of all specimens were obtained using a fluorescence camera based on QLF technology (QLF-D) and converted into 8-bit grayscale images. The fluorescence intensity of the discs as well as the fluorescence intensity contrast and the color contrast between the composite restoration and adjacent tooth region were calculated as grayscale levels.</P> <P><B>Results</B></P> <P>The grayscale levels for the composite discs differed significantly with the brand (<I>p </I><0.001): DenFil (10.84±0.35, mean±SD), Filtek Z350 (58.28±1.37), Premisa (156.94±1.58), Grandio (177.20±0.81), Charisma (207.05±0.77), and Gradia direct posterior (211.52±1.66). The difference in grayscale levels between a resin restoration and the adjacent tooth was significantly greater in fluorescence images for each brand than in white-light images, except for the Filtek Z350 (<I>p </I><0.05). However, the Filtek Z350 restoration was distinguishable from the adjacent tooth in a fluorescence image.</P> <P><B>Conclusions</B></P> <P>The intensities of fluorescence detected from the resin composites varied. The differences between the composite and adjacent tooth were greater for the fluorescence intensity contrast than for the colors observed in the white-light images.</P> <P><B>Highlights</B></P> <P> <UL> <LI> Different fluorescence intensities were emitted from resin composites under QLF-D. </LI> <LI> The fluorescence of the restored composite was brighter or darker than the tooth. </LI> <LI> QLF-D provides superior detection of restored composites than the naked eye. </LI> </UL> </P>

      • NSC126188, a piperazine alkyl derivative, induces apoptosis via upregulation of RhoB in HeLa cells.

        <P>We describe here a piperazine alkyl derivative, NSC126188, which induced apoptosis of HeLa cells by upregulating RhoB expression. NSC126188 caused multi-septation of fission yeast and hypersensitized a ???rho3 mutant, which implicates the involvement of functional human homolog RhoB. The treatment of cells with NSC126188 induced apoptosis and a dramatic increase in RhoB expression. In addition, RhoB knockdown using siRNA rescued cells from apoptosis, indicating a crucial role of RhoB in NSC126188-induced apoptosis. In a reporter assay using luciferase and EGFP under control of the RhoB promoter, NSC126188 increased both luciferase activity and the expression of EGFP, implicating transcriptional activation of RhoB by NSC126188. Furthermore, NSC126188 demonstrated in vivo anti-tumor activity, inhibiting tumor growth by 66.8% in a nude mouse xenograft using PC-3 human prostate cancer cells. These results suggest that NSC126188 is a potential lead compound and that upregulation of RhoB is associated with NSC126188-induced apoptosis.</P>

        지리정보시스템을 이용한 가야산국립공원의 잠재자연식생 추정

        본 연구는 가야산국립공원을 대상으로 지리정보시스템(Geometric Information System, GIS)을 이용 식생분포에 영향을 미치는 요인들을 분석하여, 식생분포 확률을 기초로 가야산국립공원의 잠재자연식생을 추정하였다. 가야산국립공원의 현존식생조사 결과 128개의 군락이 분포하는 것으로 나타났다. 가야산국립공원의 고도, 경사, 사면방위, 지형지수, 연평균 온도, 온량지수, 잠재증발산량의 7개 요인을 중심으로 군락별 분포를 분석하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 분포확률을 추정하였다. 잠재자연식생의 분포확률이 0.3이상인 군락은 소나무군락의 출현확률이 55.80%로 가장 높았으며, 신갈나무군락이 44.05%, 상수리나무군락이 0.09%, 굴참나무군락이 0.06%로 나타났다. 식생의 분포에 영향을 주는 요인을 본 연구에서 제시한 요인으로 한정할 경우 가야산국립공원의 잠재자연식생은 신갈나무군락(43.1%)과 소나무군락(56.9%)이 나타날 것으로 예측되었다. This study estimated potential natural vegetation in Gayasan National Park through the occurrence probability distribution by using geographic information system (GIS). in Gayasan National Park. Correlation and factor analysis were analyzed to estimate probability distribution. The presence of the Gaya National Park Vegetation survey results showed that 128 communities were distributed. The analyzed relationship between actual vegetation and distribution factors such as elevation, aspect, slope, topographic index, annual mean temperature, warmth index and potential evapotranspiration in Gayasan national park. The probability distribution of potential natural vegetation communities at least 0.3 odds were the advent of Pinus densiflora communities with the highest 55.80%, Quercus mongolica community is 44.05%, 0.09% is Quercus acutissima communities, Quercus variabilis communities are found to be 0.06%. If you want to limit the factors that affect the distribution of vegetation by factors presented in this study, the potential natural vegetation of the Gaya National Park was expected to appear in Quercus mongolica community (43.1%) and Pinus densiflora communities (56.9%).

      • Gas Selectivity Control in Co<sub>3</sub>O<sub>4</sub> Sensor via Concurrent Tuning of Gas Reforming and Gas Filtering using Nanoscale Hetero-Overlayer of Catalytic Oxides

        <P>Co3O4 sensors with a nanoscale TiO2 or SnO2 catalytic overlayer were prepared by screen-printing of Co3O4 yolk shell spheres and subsequent e-beam evaporation of TiO2 and SnO2. The Co3O4 sensors with 5 nm thick TiO2 and SnO2 overlayers showed high responses (resistance ratios) to 5 ppm xylene (14.5 and 28.8) and toluene (11.7 and 16.2) at 250 degrees C with negligible responses to interference gases such as ethanol, HCHO, CO, and benzene. In contrast, the pure Co3O4 sensor did not show remarkable selectivity toward any specific gas. The response and selectivity to methylbenzenes and ethanol could be systematically controlled by selecting the catalytic overlayer material, varying the overlayer thickness, and tuning the sensing temperature. The significant enhancement of the selectivity for xylene and toluene was attributed to the reforming of less reactive methylbenzenes into more reactive and smaller species and oxidative filtering of other interference gases, including ubiquitous ethanol. The concurrent control of the gas reforming and oxidative filtering processes using a nanoscale overlayer of catalytic oxides provides a new, general, and powerful tool for designing highly selective and sensitive oxide semiconductor gas sensors.</P>

        Phenotypic and Functional Maturation of Dendritic Cells Induced by Polysaccharide Isolated from Paecilomyces cicadae

        Paecilomyces cicadae Miquel Samson is the anamorph of Cordyceps cicadae Shing and is used in functional foods for the prevention and treatment of various diseases. In the present study, we examined the effects of P. cicadae polysaccharide (PCP) on dendritic cell (DC) maturation. Phenotypic maturation of DCs by PCP was confirmed by the elevated expressions of CD80, CD86, major histocompatibility complex (MHC)-I, and MHC-II molecules and functional maturation by increased expression of interleukin-12, interleukin-1β, and tumor necrosis factor-α, enhanced allogenic T cell stimulation, and decreased endocytosis. PCP induced the maturation of DCs from C3H/HeN and C57BL/6 mice but not from Toll-like receptor (tlr) 4–/– knockout mice and TLR4-mutated C3H/HeJ mice, which suggests that TLR4 is the membrane receptor for PCP. PCP increased the degradation of inhibitor of nuclear factor-κB (NF-κB) α/β, which enhanced the nuclear translocation of NF-κB p50/p65 and induced the phosphorylation of extracellular signal-regulated kinase, c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and p38 mitogen-activated protein kinases, which are signaling molecules downstream of TLR4. These results indicate that PCP induces DC maturation through TLR4 signaling.

        Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor associated with the left mandibular first premolar: a case report and literature review

        Calcifying epithelial odontogenic tumor (CEOT) is a rarely reported benign tumor, accounting for 0.4-3% of all odontogenic tumors. Approximately 150 cases have been reported in the literature between 1958 and 2003. The age range of CEOT varies from 8 to 92 years with mean of 36.9 years, and the occurrence of the lesion in both genders is almost equal. It has 2 clinico-topographic variants: the intraosseous (94%) and the extraosseous (6%) type. The intraosseous type has a predilection for mandible (maxilla : mandible ratio of 1 : 2). The intraosseous CEOT commonly associated with non-erupted teeth accounts for more than half (52%) of the cases and usually appears as painless swelling that causes bony expansion. The location of diffused round-shaped calcifying material is inside the connective tissue stroma and epithelial islands. The tumors tend to be located toward the tooth crown, which usually has a unilocular radiolucent region containing variant radiopaque materials radiologically. In this paper, we report a case of CEOT occurring in the left mandibular first premolar of a 23-year-old female and present a brief review of the literature.

        의도적 맹출술이 시행된 상악 매복 견치의 치료기간과 관련된 요인에 대한 3차원 단층촬영을 이용한 분석

        Early identification of maxillary canine impaction is very important, because of treatment duration time. Analysis used by 3-dimensional computed tomography is more important than before in treatment planning. The aim of this study was to analysis of factors associated with the treatment during time of forced eruption of the impacted maxillary canine using 3-dimensional computed tomography. 17 patients were analysed in Daejeon dental hospital of Wonkwang university(16 patients with unilateral impactions and 1 patient with bilateral impaction). In total, 18 maxillary impacted cannines were analysed by 3-dimensional computed tomography. The results obtained were as follow; 1. There was positive correlation between the age of patient and treatment duration time. 2. There was positive correlation between the distance of occlusal plane to cusp of maxillary impacted canine and treatment duration time, and negative correlation between the length of maxillary impacted canine and treatment duration time. 3. There was positive correlation between the angulation of midsagittal plane to axis of maxillary impacted canine and treatment duration time, and negative correlation between occlusal plane to axis of maxillary impacted canine and treatment duration time. In conclusion, age, tooth length, distance from the canine cusp tip to the occlusal plane, angulation of tooth axis to occlusal plane and midsagittal plane allow that we can predict treatment duration time.

      • Fire-through Ag contact formation for crystalline Si solar cells using single-step inkjet printing.

        <P>Inkjet-printed Ag metallization is a promising method of forming front-side contacts on Si solar cells due to its non-contact printing nature and fine grid resolution. However, conventional Ag inks are unable to punch through the SiN(x) anti-reflection coating (ARC) layer on emitter Si surfaces. In this study, a novel formulation of Ag ink is examined for the formation of fire-through contacts on a SiN(x)-coated Si substrate using the single-step printing of Ag ink, followed by rapid thermal annealing at 800 degrees C. In order to formulate Ag inks with fire-through contact formation capabilities, a liquid etching agent was first formulated by dissolving metal nitrates in an organic solvent and then mixing the resulting solution with a commercial Ag nanoparticle ink at various volume ratios. During the firing process, the dissolved metal nitrates decomposed into metal oxides and acted in a similar manner to the glass frit contained in Ag pastes for screen-printed Ag metallization. The newly formulated ink with a 1 wt% loading ratio of metal oxides to Ag formed finely distributed Ag crystallites on the Si substrate after firing at 800 degrees C for 1 min.</P>
