        Nowadays, because of its characteristics such as good stability and being easy for tank cleaning and construction, etc, corrugated bulkhead is usually used in the oil or chemical tanker. As several kinds of corrugated bulkhead joints are used in structure, it is important for the joint to know the features of them. By using Patran & Nastran to calculate the distribution of displacement and stress of different types of joints under the same loading, the main study is about the common joint forms for the corrugated bulkhead of the oil/chemical tanker. The study can be referenced by those who design the joints for the corrugated bulkhead of the oil/chemical tanker.

        흑차(⿊茶)의 역사적 발전과 제다 및 효능에 관한 고찰

        본 연구는 흑차의 등장 배경과 발전과정을 이해하려는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 문헌 고찰을 통해 흑차 산지의 역사적, 지리적 특수성 및 흑차의 제다와 효능의 특징을 살펴보았다. 결과적으로 흑차의 등장에는 변경의 소수민족과 중국 간의 차마무역이란 역사적, 지리적 원인이 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 흑차가 생산되는 지역들은 과거 차마무역을 위해 변경으로 수출하기 위한 차들이 만들어진 지역들이었다. 이들 지역에서 생산된 차들은 차마고도, 실크로드, 차선고도와 같은 교역로를 통해 중국의 변경지역으로 수출이 되었다. 변경지역의 소수민족들은 그들의 생활방식 및 식관습상 차의 섭취가 필수적이었다. 그들은 중국과의 차마무역을 통해 차를 수급하고자 하였으며 중국은 이를 통해 소수민족들을 통제하려 하였다. 변경지역의 차수요를 충족하기 위해 성숙 된 찻잎을 원료로 한 흑차 제다기법이 발전할 수 있었다. 미생물발효로 만들어진 흑차는 다른 차류보다 높은 효능을 가지고 있다. 역사적으로 소수민족에 수출되었던 흑차는 오늘날 그 효능에 주목한 현대인들에게도 인기를 끌게 되었다. The purpose of this study is to understand the background and development process of ‘Dark tea’ by literature review about the historical and geographical specificity of production sites and the characteristics of manufacture method and healthy efficacy. The sites where dark tea was produced were areas where the tea was made for export to the minority race, nomadic tribes of the border area. This tea was exported to the frontier areas of China through the tea trade routes. Tea was essential for minorities, because of their eating habits as nomadic tribes. And The royal court of China tried to control them through the ‘Tea Horse Trade.’ The manufacturing method of dark tea has been developed to meet the demands of the frontier areas. Because dark tea has a high health promotion effectiveness, they become popular with modern people today.

        Neural Network Sliding Mode Control Based on On-Line Identification for Electric Vehicle with Ultracapacitor-Battery Hybrid Power

        In order to deal with three major problems of electric vehicle (EV): the short driving range, the short life of batteries, and the poor ability of start-up, a hybrid power system was designed and applied to the EV. It was composed of an ultracapacitor with high-specific power and long life, four lead-acid batteries, and a bi-directional DC/DC converter. To improve the stability and reliability of the hybrid-power EV, based on establishing the mathematical models of driving and regenerative-braking processes, a novel neural network sliding mode controller (NNSMC) was researched and designed for the EV. The controller comprises a back propagation neural network (BPNN), a radial basis function neural network (RBFNN), and a sliding mode controller (SMC). The BPNN is used to adaptively ad-just the switching gain of the SMC on-line so as to avoid the whippings. The RBFNN is used to per-form system identification and parameter prediction. The experimental results show that the NNSMC is superior to PID controller at response speed, steady-state tracking error and resisting perturbation whenever driving or braking. Additionally, the hybrid-power EV with NNSMC can improve the ability of start-up, recover more energy, lengthen the life of batteries, and increase the driving range than the EV using batteries as its single power source by about 40%, and than the hybrid-power EV with PID controller by about 4%.

        Epigallocatechin-3-Gallate (EGCG) Attenuates Traumatic Brain Injury by Inhibition of Edema Formation and Oxidative Stress

        Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is a major cause of mortality and long-term disability, which can decrease quality of life. In spite of numerous studies suggesting that Epigallocatechin-3- gallate (EGCG) has been used as a therapeutic agent for a broad range of disorders, the effect of EGCG on TBI remains unknown. In this study, a weight drop model was established to evaluate the therapeutic potential of EGCG on TBI. Rats were administered with 100 mg/kg EGCG or PBS intraperitoneally. At different times following trauma, rats were sacrificed for analysis. It was found that EGCG (100 mg/kg, i.p.) treatment significantly reduced brain water content and vascular permeability at 12, 24, 48, 72 hour after TBI. Real-time PCR results revealed that EGCG inhibited TBI-induced IL-1β and TNF-α mRNA expression. Importantly, CD68 mRNA expression decreasing in the brain suggested that EGCG inhibited microglia activation. Western blotting and immunohistochemistry results showed that administering of EGCG significantly inhibited the levels of aquaporin-4 (AQP4) and glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) expression. TBI-induced oxidative stress was remarkably impaired by EGCG treatment, which elevated the activities of SOD and GSH-PX. Conversely, EGCG significantly reduced the contents of MDA after TBI. In addition, EGCG decreased TBI-induced NADPH oxidase activation through inhibition of p47phox translocation from cytoplasm to plasma membrane. These data demonstrate that EGCG treatment may be an effective therapeutic strategy for TBI and the underlying mechanism involves inhibition of oxidative stress.

        Start with 2D simulation of hot-carrier injection current. in this pier, we have discussed the influence of different silicon film thickness (Tsi), gate oxide thickness (Tox1) and substrate doping (Na) an the hot-carrier effects of thin-film deep submicron SOI/MOSFET. Simulation results indicate that, with reduction of Tsi, the hot-carrier current is reduced (by more than 2 orders); and in Tsi range of 0.05-0.1μ. the hot carrier carrent is smallest and insensitive to Tox1, Na and Tsi. These are helpful to the design of high reliability SOI/MOSFET.

        Evaluation of New Selective Molecularly Imprinted Polymers for the Extraction of Resveratrol from Polygonum Cuspidatum

        Four different molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs) were prepared using resveratrol as the template, methacrylic acid (MAA) or acrylamide (AA) as functional monomers, 2,2-azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) as the initiator, and thermo- or photo-induced polymerization. The ability of the different polymers to rebind selectively not only the template but also other phenols was evaluated. In parallel, the influence of the different templates and functional monomers used during polymer syntheses on the performance of the obtained MIPs was also studied through different rebinding experiments. The binding ability and selectivity of the polymer were studied by static balance method and Scatchard analysis. It was concluded that AA-based polymer by photo-induced polymerization presents the best properties to be used as a selective absorbent for the extraction of resveratrol.

      • Utility of VEGF and sVEGFR-1 in Bronchoalveolar Lavage Fluid for Differential Diagnosis of Primary Lung Cancer

        Published data have shown that the levels of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and soluble VEGF receptor-1 (sVEGFR-1) in plasma and pleural effusion might be usefulness for lung cancer diagnosis. Here, we performed a prospective study to investigate the utility of VEGF and sVEGFR-1 in bronchoalveolar lavage fluid (BALF) for differential diagnosis of primary lung cancer. A total of 56 patients with solitary pulmonary massed by chest radiograph or CT screening were enrolled in this study. BALF and plasma samples were obtained from all patients and analyzed for VEGF and sVEGFR-1 using a commercially available sandwich ELISA kit. The results showed that the levels of VEGF in BALF were significantly higher in patients with a malignant pulmonary mass compared with patients with a benign mass (P < 0.001). However, no significant difference of sVEGFR-1 in BALF was found between malignant and non-malignant groups (P = 0.43). With a cut-off value of 214 pg/ml, VEGF showed a sensitivity and specificity of 81.8% and 84.2%, respectively, in predicting the malignant nature of a solitary pulmonary mass. Our study suggests that VEGF is significantly increased in BALF among patients with lung cancer than in benign diseases. Measurement of VEGF in BALF might be helpful for differential diagnosis of primary lung cancer.

      • Web-based Visualization of Generalized 3D City Models using HTML5 and X3DOM

        Efficient visualization of three-dimensional (3D) city models at various scales is one of the pivotal techniques to support 3D applications in mobile and Internet environments. In this paper, a framework is proposed to visualize 3D city models online using Internet browsers without plugins. City Geography Markup Language (CityGML) and Extensible 3D (X3D) are used to represent and present 3D city models. Then, generalization methods are studied and tailored to create 3D city scenes at block and building levels; multiple representation structures are designed to preserve the generalization results at different scales. Finally, the quality of generalized 3D city models is evaluated in a case study. The experiment results show that the proposed generalization method can reduce the number of visualized buildings dramatically, which is essential for online applications.
