Classicality in Imaginary Weak Amplification

        Tao Wang,Gang Li,Chang-Bao Fu,Rui Zhang,Xuemei Su,Qian-qian Bao 한국물리학회 2017 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.71 No.12

Weak ampli¯cation is an interesting phenomenon. In this paper we show an example that the imaginary weak ampli¯cation e®ect can be only related to the classical probability distribution of the measured quantity. A general result for any two orthogonal postselections and any meter state is also given.

Bauschinger Effect or Kinematic Hardening: Bridging Microstructure and Continuum Mechanics

        Bao-Guang Zhang,Xiao-Ming Zhang,Hai-Tao Liu,Hua-Bing Li 대한금속ᆞ재료학회 2023 METALS AND MATERIALS International Vol.29 No.2

As a strong and low-priced austenite stabilizer, nitrogen (0.085 wt%) was deliberately added into a hot-rolled Fe-0.2C-5Mn TRIP steel for optimizing the strength–ductility balance. Nitrogen addition can not only increase austenite fraction (> 50%), but also favor the improvement of austenite stability due to its partition behavior from ferrite to austenite during intercritical annealing. Besides, the low annealing temperature (635 °C) and nitrogen addition result in the simultaneous precipitation of cementite (size, 21–396 nm) and carbonitride (size, 7–193 nm) in ferrite and at grain boundaries, which can effectively increase the yield strength through precipitation strengthening (33–63 and 41–61 MPa, respectively). Furthermore, the sufficient interstitial solute originated from N addition as well as the discontinuous TRIP effect benefits the strong serrated flow behavior and multi-peak strain hardening behavior. As a result, the strong TRIP effect together with precipitation strengthening is believed to be responsible for the excellent strength–ductility balance of present steel annealed for 3 h, demonstrating a high tensile strength of 1043 MPa, outstanding total elongation of 43.3% and superior product of strength and elongation (PSE) of 44.8 GPa%.

Simulated Ion Velocity Distribution and Its Incoherent Scattering Spectrum in the High-latitude Ionosphere

        Bao-Ke Ma,Li-Xin Guo,Hong-Tao Su,Bei-Chen Zhang 한국물리학회 2013 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.63 No.8

If the relatively larger convection electric field and small the collision frequency between ions andneutrals in the high-latitude ionosphere are considered, the integral solution of the non-Maxwellianion velocity distribution function for the relaxation collision model is simplified, and a torus distributionfunction of the ion velocity is obtained. Also, the feature of the torus velocity distributionfunction is analyzed and simulated with different parameters in high-latitude ionosphere. Furthermore,by using the electromagnetic radiation theory of Sheffield and taking into account the iontemperature anisotropy and its variation with the electric field, we simulate the incoherent scatteringspectrum of ions in different directions. The research shows that the ionospheric convectionelectric field, the ion-neutral collision frequency and the ion anisotropic temperature distributionall have an effect on the incoherent scattering spectrum.

Effects of Dietary L-carnosine and Alpha-lipoic Acid on Growth Performance, Blood Thyroid Hormones and Lipid Profiles in Finishing Pigs

        Bao, Yinghui,Gao, Chunqi,Hao, Wenbo,Ji, Cheng,Zhao, Lihong,Zhang, Jianyun,Liu, Tao,Ma, Qiugang Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 2015 Animal Bioscience Vol.28 No.10

The present study was conducted to determine the effects of L-carnosine (LC) and/or alpha-lipoic acid (ALA) supplementation on growth performance, blood thyroid hormones and lipid profiles in finishing pigs. A total of 40 ($Landrace{\times}Yorkshire$) pigs with an initial body weight of $57.93{\pm}3.14kg$ were randomly allocated to 4 experimental diets using a $2{\times}2$ factorial arrangement with 2 LC supplemental levels (0 or 0.1%) and 2 ALA supplemental levels (0 or 0.03%) in basal diets. The results showed that pigs fed LC-supplemented diets increased final live weight, average daily gain, and average daily feed intake compared to those of pigs fed without LC-supplemented diets (p<0.05). Dietary supplementation with ALA did not affect the growth performance and carcass traits of pigs (p>0.05). Additionally, LC supplementation increased serum triiodothyronine, thyroxine levels, and ALA supplementation increased serum triiodothyronine levels (p<0.05). Serum total cholesterol and triglycerides levels were significantly decreased in LC and ALA supplemented groups, respectively (p<0.05). Moreover, serum low density lipoprotein cholesterol levels were lower in the ALA-supplemented groups than those of pigs fed without ALA-supplemented diets (p<0.05). However, no significant $LC{\times}ALA$ interaction effect on growth performance, blood thyroid hormones and lipid profiles was found. This study suggested that dietary supplementation of LC resulted in better growth performance compared to that of ALA supplementation. L-carnosine and/or ALA supplementation positively modified blood lipid profiles, which may have the potential to prevent cardiovascular diseases.

A Combined Pharmacophore-Based Virtual Screening, Docking Study and Molecular Dynamics (MD) Simulation Approach to Identify Inhibitors with Novel Scaffolds for Myeloid cell leukemia (Mcl-1)

Bao, Guang-Kai,Zhou, Lu,Wang, Tai-Jin,He, Lu-Fen,Liu, Tao Korean Chemical Society 2014 Bulletin of the Korean Chemical Society Vol.35 No.7

Chemical feature based quantitative pharmacophore models were generated using the HypoGen module implemented in DS2.5. The best hypothesis, Hypo1, which was characterized by the highest correlation coefficient (0.96), the highest cost difference (61.60) and the lowest RMSD (0.74), consisted of one hydrogen bond acceptor, one hydrogen bond donor, one hydrophobic and one ring aromatic. The reliability of Hypo1 was validated on the basis of cost analysis, test set, Fischer's randomization method and GH test method. The validated Hypo1 was used as a 3D search query to identify novel inhibitors. The screened molecules were further refined by employing ADMET, docking studies and visual inspection. Three compounds with novel scaffolds were selected as the most promising candidates for the designing of Mcl-1 antagonists. Finally, a 10 ns molecular dynamics simulation was carried out on the complex of receptor and the retrieved ligand to demonstrate that the binding mode was stable during the MD simulation.

Nonlinear endomicroscopy using a double-clad fiber coupler.

        Bao, Hongchun,Ryu, Seon Young,Lee, Byeong Ha,Tao, Wei,Gu, Min Optical Society of America 2010 Optics letters Vol.35 No.7

A double-clad fiber coupler is developed to be used in two-photon-excited fluorescence endomicroscopy to replace a dichroic mirror and separate the fluorescence signal from the excitation laser beam. With the double-clad fiber coupler, the endomicroscope becomes more compact, easier to be aligned, and more stable in alignment. The double-clad fiber coupler can transmit 62% of the excitation laser beam through the core. The fluorescence collection efficiency of the double-clad fiber coupler is 34%, which is, to the best of our knowledge, the highest fluorescence collection efficiency achieved by couplers used in two-photon-excited fluorescence endomicroscopes. As a result, the contrast of endomicroscopy imaging is enhanced.

Synthesis and luminescent properties of nanoparticles LaSrAl3O7:Eu, Tb

        Amurisana Bao,Hua Yang,Chunyan Tao 한국물리학회 2009 Current Applied Physics Vol.9 No.6

Phosphors of nanoparticles LaSrAl3O7:RE3+(RE=Eu, Tb) have been prepared by a sol–gel method. The structure and luminescent properties of LaSrAl3O7:Eu3+ and LaSrAl3O7:Tb3+ phosphors were characterized by X-ray diffraction and atomic force microscopy (AFM), photoluminescence excitation and emission spectra were utilized. From X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns, it is indicated that the phosphor LaSrAl3O7 forms without impurity phase at 900 ℃. From atomic force microscopy (AFM) images, it is shown that the crystal size of the phosphores are about 60–80 nm. Upon excitation with UV irradiation, it is shown that there is a strong emission at around 617 nm corresponding to the forced electric dipole 5D0–7F2 transition of Eu3+, and at around 545 nm corresponding to the 5D4–7F5 transition of Tb3+. The dependence of photoluminescence intensity on Eu3+(or Tb3+) concentration and annealing temperature were also studied in detail. Developments of double skin composite walls using novel enhanced C-channel connectors

        Jia-Bao Yan,An-Zhen Chen,Tao Wang 국제구조공학회 2019 Steel and Composite Structures, An International J Vol.33 No.6

The developments of double skin composite (DSC) walls with novel enhanced C-channel connectors (DSCW-EC) were reported. Followed axial compression tests on prototype walls were carried to evaluate structural performances of this novel DSC composite structures. The testing program consists of five specimens and focused on the layout of the novel enhanced C-channel (EC) connectors, which include the web direction of C-channels, steel-faceplate thickness, vertical and horizontal spacing of Cchannels. Crushing in concrete core and buckling of steel faceplate were two main observed failed modes from the compression tests. However, elastic or plastic buckling of the steel faceplate varies with designed parameters in different specimens. The influences of those investigated parameters on axial compressive behaviors of DSCW-ECs were analyzed and discussed. Recommendations on the layout of novel EC connectors were then given based on these test results and discussions. This paper also developed analytical models for predictions on ultimate compressive resistance of DSCW-ECs. Validation against the reported test results show that the developed theoretical models predict well the ultimate compressive resistance of DSCW-ECs.
