To prepare enzyme@Ca3(PO4)2 for environmentally friendly biocatalysis, Ca2+ and (PO4)3 were extractedfrom bone waste by acidification. In the nearly neutralizedfiltrate, the Ca2+ and (PO4)3 formed aCa3(PO4)2 sediment that crystallized on a template of Thermomyces lanuginosus lipase (TLL) at 4 ℃ for24 h, producing enzyme@Ca3(PO4)2-Bone hybrid nanoflowers (hNFs). Clindamycin palmitate wasefficiently synthesized by transfer of a palmityl moiety from vinyl palmitate to clindamycin free baseusing these hNFs as a biocatalyst. At 30 ℃ in petroleum ether (PE) as the solvent, the yield of the TLL hNFcatalyzedreaction was as high as 70.0%. Even at a high temperature (80 ℃), the yield in the hNF-catalyzedreaction was still 52.6%, but no product was detected when using free lipase as the catalyst. Moreover, thehNFs retained 90% of their initial activity after 10 cycles (120 h, 12 h per cycle). This green and sustainablemethod that utilizes bone waste from food production as the raw source of the inorganic component wasfacile and efficient, and the system may also be applicable for preparing other enzyme@Ca3(PO4)2 hNFsfor industrial applications.

To obtain robust and thermo-stable enzyme aggregates, p-benzoquinone was used as cross-linker and bovine serum albumin (BSA) as crowding macromolecules to prepare cross-linked enzyme aggregates (CLEAs) of lipase. Effects of cross-linking time and cross-linker content on the activity, thermal stability and characteristics of enzyme aggregates were examined carefully. It was observed that when the content of p_benzoquinone was 5 mM and amount of BSA was 125% of that of lipase (w/w), the specific activity of cross-linked co-aggregates of lipase and BSA was 79.8 U mg^−1, 2.44-fold of that of cross-linked enzyme aggregates of lipase without BSA. Moreover, after heat treatment for 96 h at 50℃ , the CLEAs prepared with this facile routine kept 75.18% of their initial activity, 5.01-fold more than that of the just CLEAs using glutaraldehyde. Furthermore, BSA macromolecules in lipase CLEAs enhanced the catalytic efficiency of free and just lipase CLEAs without BSA by 1.45 and 2.83 times, respectively. The proposed crosslinking technique would rank among the potential strategies for efficiently preparing robust and thermo-stable enzyme aggregates.
Benefits Assessment of Large Scale High-speed Rail Network in China
Kun Wang,Wenyi Xia,Anming Zhang 인하대학교 정석물류통상연구원 2017 인하대학교 정석물류통상연구원 학술대회 Vol.2017 No.1
This paper examines the impact of China’s large-scale high-speed rail (HSR) expansion, announced in June 2016, on low-cost carriers (LCCs) and the associated benefits assessment of the expansion program. Our analysis suggests that HSR imposes a greater threat to LCCs than to full service carriers, and the HSR expansion that is intended to reach a great number of small cities has left Chinese LCCs with little survival room, even with full airline market liberalization and sufficient airport capacity. By conducting a “propensity score matching” to pair HSR-linked city pairs in China to the counterfactual US airline routes, we find that most of these Chinese routes would be viable markets for LCCs to operate. The benefits of HSR expansion may thus be overestimated if not recognizing the LCCs’ role as an alternative mode to serve these markets. In particular, for the routes to the central and western China with very small travel demand and high HSR construction cost, LCC service could be more cost efficient and operationally flexible than HSR. Our analysis calls for a more careful evaluation of the program and, more generally, a balanced and coordinated HSR and LCC development in China.

Macromolecular reagents were co-assembled with penicillin acylase (PA) and immobilized in mesocellular siliceous foams (MCFs) to resemble living cells. Types and concentrations of macromolecules were studied. The catalytic characteristic and stability of PA preparations were also investigated. PA assembled with dextran 10 k in MCFs showed maximum specific activity, 1.32-fold of that of the solely immobilized PA. The optimum pH of dextran and BSA derivatives shifted to neutrality, and the optimum temperature increased by 10 oC. Also, Km of BSA derivative of PA declined 56.7% compared to solely immobilized PA, while the Kcat/Km of PA assembled with BSA was enhanced to 147%. After incubation at 50℃ for 6 h, residual activity of PA assembled with BSA exhibited 53.0%. The ficoll derivative showed 82.8% of its initial activity at 4 oC after 8-week storage. The results indicated that macromolecular reagents assembled with PA in MCFs could dramatically improve the catalytic performance and stability of im- mobilized enzyme.
DNA Fingerprint Bands Correlated with the Egg Weight Performance of Hens
Huang, Haigen,Meng, Anming,Qi, Shunzhang,Gong, Guifen,Li, Junying,Wang, Hongwei,Chou, Baoqin Asian Australasian Association of Animal Productio 1999 Animal Bioscience Vol.12 No.1
Beijing White Chickens laying larger eggs and smaller eggs were respectively used as parental individuals for mating to produce the F1 progeny and then the F1 progeny individuals mated to produce 125 individuals of the F2 progeny. Three bands associated with the egg weight performance were identified from DNA fingerprints of the 125 individuals generated with a bovine minisatellite probe BM6.5B. The simple linear correlation analysis showed that the coefficients of correlation between frequencies of the three bands (DB1, DB2 and DB3) and egg weights were -0.6, -0.6 and 0.9, respectively.
