Here we report the study on the utilization of several advanced oxidation processes such as electro-oxidation and Fenton process in simultaneous treatment of two nitramine explosives: 2,4,6-trinitrophenyl-N-metylnitramine (Tetryl) and hexahydro-1,3,5-trinitro-1,3,5-triazine (RDX). The preliminary tests indicated that the electrolytic method using a TiO2/IrO2/RuO2-coated electrode could rapidly degrade Tetryl but not RDX. While the addition of certain amount of H2O2 induced an increase of Tetryl degradation yield but had insignificant effect on RDX decomposition, the use of Fenton’s reagent showed an enhanced efficiency in degradation of both nitramines. It can be concluded that among tested processes, Fenton process is the most effective for treatment of nitramine-containing wastewaters.

In this paper, an electrosynthesized bilayer film of polypyrrole nanowire and poly(1,5- diaminonaphthalene) on a disposable screen-printing carbon ink electrode is presented. The inner polypyrrole nanowire layer had a large surface-to-volume ratio and high conductivity in the neutral medium, whereas the outer layer of poly(1,5diaminonaphthalene) had functional amino groups on the polymer chains. The combination of polypyrrole nanowire and poly(1,5diaminonaphthalene) showed a promising material for electrochemical biosensing. Here we reported an electrochemical immunosensor based on this approach for the purpose of detecting breast cancer biomarkers. The bilayer could enhance the surface coverage of antibody anti-CA 15-3 and consequently improve the sensitivity and stability of the immunosensors. The magnetic beads were used as carriers of labeled antibody anti-CA15-3 and HRP (horseradish peroxidase) in order to achieve an amplification of the signal. Under optimized conditions, the linear range of the immunoassay was 0.05e20 U mL1 with a detection limit of 0.02 U mL1 CA 15-3 antigen.
Autonomous Evasive Steering with Differential Braking Backup

Every today’s vehicle is equipped with four independent brakes. When well-coordinated, these brakes can decelerate the vehicle and at the same time help control its yaw rate. This paper focuses on the use of this feature as a backup for autonomous evasive steering in severe situations. Today, differential braking is managed independently and activated separately from other systems. In our case, both autonomous steering and differential braking are activated. Results show that this can increase the potential of the vehicle to face more complex situations. The tools adopted in this paper remain valid for other types of system combinations.

Comprehensive bans on tobacco advertising and promotion were introduced through tobacco control legislation in Viet Nam, but it has been established that violations of the bans are very common. This study was conducted to explore the trend in violations of bans on tobacco advertising and promotion at points of sale in Viet Nam in the past six years and to explore any differences in the violation situations before and after the Law on Tobacco Control came into effect on 1st May 2013. Quantitative data were collected through observation of violations of the bans on tobacco advertising and promotion at points of sale in 10 provinces throughout Viet Nam in four survey rounds (2009, 2010, 2011, and 2015). Variation in violation prevalence over time was examined by chi-square test using a Bonferini method. Binary logistic regression was employed to identify the factors that may have influences on different types of violation. A level of significance of p<0.05 was used for all tests in this article. The most common form of violation was the display of more than one pack/one carton of a cigarette brand. Violation of bans on tobacco advertising increased while violations on promotion ban and on displaying tobacco decreased through time. Some factors associated with the tobacco advertising and promotion bans included surveyed years, types of points of sale, regions and areas where the points of sale were located. The enforcement of the bans did not improve even after the issuance and the enactment of the Law on Tobacco Control. This suggests that the monitoring and enforcement of bans on tobacco advertising and promotion at points of sale should be strengthened. Penalties should be strictly applied for violators as indicated in the current tobacco control legislation.
