This research aims to increase the tourism destination competitiveness for the city of Malang. This research uses the extended criteria of Resource-based View (RBV): VRIOLU (Valuable, Rare, Inimitable, Organization, Large Market, Unmet Need) to analyze tourism destination competitiveness for the city of Malang. A qualitative approach with a case study research design is adopted in this research. Data was collected using data triangulation, such as an in-depth interview with the informants, direct observation in the form of field notes, and picture documentation. The data was analyzed manually by the researchers using thematic analysis. In this research, VRIOLU, the extended criteria of RBV is proven that it can be used as a tool to analyze tourism destination competitiveness by giving the researchers a framework to get the answers from the informants to achieve the research aim. Suggestions to improve the tourism destination competitiveness for the city of Malang include: (1) Actively promoting the added value that can be given by the city of Malang to the visitors; (2) Forming a tourism board to manage the city of Malang as a tourism destination in a holistic manner; (3) Creating synergistic promotion between the stakeholders of tourism operator and governments.

Patent Systems in Facing the Occurrence of Same Date Filing Identical Patent Application by Two Applicants

        ( Putri Andini ),( Noviar Hana ),( Park Hyunkyung ) 연세법학회(구 연세법학연구회) 2017 연세법학 Vol.29 No.-

The aim of this paper is to address the occurrence of two applicants apply an identical patent on the same date. This circumstance might cause a legal problem concerning who will get the patent between two applicants if there are no proper solutions given in several countries` patent Acts. A question arises Between two systems which are First-to-Invent and First-to-File, in case in which two or more applicants submit patent applications claiming the same or substantially similar subject matter close in time or on the same day. First-to-File system, which based on the earliest effective filing date on patent application, provisions embedded in Indonesia, South Korea and Japan`s Patent Acts are giving the chance to both applicants to enter into negotiation with specified period of time, except European Countries. Meanwhile, First-to-Invent system giving solution with its administrative proceeding, for example United States with its First-Inventor-to-File system. Country`s patent office, which use First-to-File system, can undergo time preference in order to overcome the issue. Time preference instead of date preference means in using First-to-File principle, the patent office of a country is basing the filing application of every application on the time base and also changing the basis from date standard to time standard. Therefore, when two applicants or more file applications on the same date, whoever files it earlier on the time base will be granted the patent. In order to strengthen this new approach, several things have to be taken into account which are the technological infrastructure as a supporting variable and also the time differences which exist in a country that makes one country is having several different time bases.

Antecedents of Sustainable Competitive Advantages: A Case Study of Palm Oil Industries in Indonesia

HERIYANTO, Meyzi,FEBRIAN, Achmad Fajri,ANDINI, Frini Karina,HANDOKO, Tito,SURYANA, Dodi Korea Distribution Science Association 2021 The Journal of Asian Finance, Economics and Busine Vol.8 No.2

Indonesian oil palm plantation industry has chance to increase a sustainable competitive advantage. The creation of a sustainable competitive advantage is determined by the ability of the palm oil industry to utilize limited resources and capabilities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the determinants of the creation of sustainable competitive advantage (SCA) in the palm oil industry in Riau, Indonesia. The model framework uses organizational-level SCA dimensions. Four dimensions are used to measure SCA in the palm oil industry in Riau, namely value, scarce resource, inability to replicate, irreplaceable. Questionnaires were distributed to oil palm industry players in Riau with 81 respondents. The analysis technique uses Structural Equation Model with Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results showed that the SCA in the palm oil industry in Riau was at a moderate level. Although the competitive advantage of being sustainable in the palm oil industry in Riau is in the medium category, test results on SCA dimensions found that each latent variable forms a significant SCA framework with a reflective constructive relationship model. The three dominant and recommended dimensions that shape the construction of SCA in the palm oil industry are value, scarce resource, and irreplaceable.

Fiber Morphology and Physical Characteristics of Gigantochloa atter at Three Different Ages and Heights of Culms for Better Utilization1

        Sri Nugroho Marsoem,Fajar Setiaji,Nam Hum Kim,Joko Sulistyo,Denny Irawati,Widyanto Dwi Nugroho,Yus Andini Bekti Pertiwi 한국목재공학회 2015 목재공학 Vol.43 No.2

Fiber morphology and basic characteristics of Legi bamboos (Gigantochloa atter) growing on Yogyakarta were studied considering their age and height positions in the culms. Culms of 4, 16, and 40 months were harvested, and their total lengths were measured. The length, diameter, and wall thickness of each internode were measured. All the sample culms were divided into three different parts along the height, and their fiber dimension and physical properties were observed. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of variance. The results showed that the culms had a diameter of 5.8 to 10.8 cm. The lowest internodes always showed the shortest length and the thickest wall. The culms had an average fiber length of 2.41 mm and Runkel ratio of 0.61. Fiber length was affected by the height, while fiber diameter, lumen diameter, and fiber wall thickness were affected significantly by the age of the culms. The culms had high green moisture content (GMC) of 157.89%, and basic density (BD) of 456.67 kg.m -3 , a total longitudinal shrinkage of 0.35%, and relatively low R/T shrinkage ratio. The interactions between age and height were affected GMC and BD.

Islamic Perspective on Students Wearing a Burqa at Universities in Indonesia: Results from a Survey at Three Universities

Hanafiah, Muhammad,Hafidzi, Anwar,Nadhiroh, Wardatun,Assyauqi, Moh. Iqbal,Abidin, Muhammad Zainal,Kurdi, Musyarrafah Sulaiman,Andini, Yokke Center for Asian Public Opinion ResearchCollaborat 2019 Asian journal for public opinion research Vol.7 No.4

Burqa or in Arabic An-Niqab is used to cover the entire face of a woman, except the two eyes. The burqa is not obligatory according to Syafi'i madzhab, which is followed by the majority of Indonesian Muslims. In this study, researchers used a survey to develop an understanding of veiled female students' attitudes about themselves, their experience wearing a burqa, interactions with peers, and their perception of how other members of their academic community perceive them. The survey used Likert-type items. The sample in this study was 100 students from three general universities in South Kalimantan: Antasari State Islamic University, Rasyidiyah Khalidiyah Islamic College, and College of Quranic Sciences. The key findings include that 58.2% indicated a willingness to form associations with any women; 17.7% said they were happy associating only with the veiled community. A total of 13.9% said that sometimes they were told to take off their burqa when they were in the classroom. While most said they were never bullied on campus (67.1%), 19% said they were often bullied. Most (78.5%) said that they were given freedom even though there was a suggestion to open their faces when education and learning were taking place.
