The significant advances in information and communication technologies are changing the process of how information is accessed. The internet is a very important source of information and it influences the development of other media. Furthermore, the growth of digital content is a big problem for academic digital libraries, so that similar tools can be applied in this scope to provide users with access to the information. Given the importance of this, we have reviewed and analyzed several proposals that improve the processes of disseminating information in these university digital libraries and that promote access to information of interest. These proposals manage to adapt a user`s access to information according to his or her needs and preferences. As seen in the literature one of the techniques with the best results, is the application of recommender systems. These are tools whose objective is to evaluate and filter the vast amount of digital information that is accessible online in order to help users in their processes of accessing information. In particular, we are focused on the analysis of the fuzzy linguistic recommender systems (i.e., recommender systems that use fuzzy linguistic modeling tools to manage the user`s preferences and the uncertainty of the system in a qualitative way). Thus, in this work, we analyzed some proposals based on fuzzy linguistic recommender systems to help researchers, students, and teachers access resources of interest and thus, improve and complement the services provided by academic digital libraries.

Mexico is one of the five largest producers of papaya worldwide, but losses caused by pathogens, mainly fungus, at the pre- and post-harvest stages are often more than 50% of the crop. Papaya anthracnose, caused by three different species of the Colletotrichum genus in Mexico, occupies a preponderant place in this problem. Although two of these species, C. gloeosporiodes and C. truncatum, have been characterized morphologically and genotypically, this has not occurred with C. magnum, the third species involved, about which there is very little information. Because of this, it is vital to know its genetic characterization, much more so considering that the studies carried out on the other two species reveal a wide genetic diversity, differences in pathogenicity and in the response to fungicides of the different strains characterized. In this work, Colletotrichum spp. isolates were collected at different papaya orchards in the south-southeast of Mexico. C. magnum isolates identified by species-specific primers were characterized by morphological and molecular approaches. Differences in colony characteristics resulted in five morphological groups. AP-PCR, DAMD and ISSR markers were found to be very efficient for revealing the interspecific variability of this species. The high genetic variability found in the accessions of C. magnum was linked to the geographical area where they were collected. Isolates from Chiapas State were the most variable, showing point mutations in the ITS1- ITS2 region. These results will enable a better phytosanitary management of anthracnose in papaya in this region of Mexico.

It is undeniable that a significant number of patients who want to improve their facial appearance is increasingly interested in nonsurgical procedures. Without a doubt, the use of autologous fat could not be left out as a magnificent alternative for nasal modeling simply because of four influential factors: ease of collection, compatibility, the temporality of the results, and safety. This work describes an innovative alternative technique for nasal modeling using micrografts enriched with adipose-derived mesenchymal stem cells (ASCs). With this technique, fat was collected and divided into two samples, nanofat and microfat. Nanofat was used to isolate the ASCs; microfat was enriched with ASCs and used for nasal modeling. Lipoinjection was performed in a supraperiosteal plane on the nasal dorsum. Through a retrolabial access, the nasal tip and base of the columella were lipoinjected. We consider that nonsurgical nasal modeling using micrografts enriched with ASCs can be an attractive and innovative alternative. This technique will never be a substitute for surgical rhinoplasty. It can be performed in a minor procedure area with rapid recovery and return to the patient’s daily activities the next day. If necessary, the procedure can be repeated.

Propolis was included in the Argentine Food Code as a functional food. The chemical parameters and antioxidant properties of propolis samples from the same colonies of Apis mellifera in San Juan (Cuyo region, Western Argentine) were compared every month for 1 year using two collection methods. Chemical parameters were analyzed by the spectrophotometric method and fingerprinting using high-performance liquid chromatography with ultraviolet detection. The antioxidant activities of propolis samples were measured using model systems including the analysis of the scavenging activities for 2,2′-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) (ABTS) and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radicals and the β-carotene bleaching assay. The results showed that propolis had a higher free radical scavenging and lipid peroxidation inhibitory capacity than butylated hydroxytoluene and quercetin, antioxidants used in the pharmaceutical and food industries. The concentration required to scavenge 50% of free radicals (SC50) values differed depending on the sample collection month. Samples collected in November had the highest antioxidant capacity. In all cases, SC50 values of propolis samples obtained by scraping were similar to those collected from a wire mesh (5μg/mL for ABTS and 20–30μg/mL for DPPH radicals). A significant positive correlation was found between the antioxidant capacity and flavonoid content of each analyzed extract. The chemical profiles were very similar. Galangin (3,5,7-trihydroxyflavone), an antioxidant compound, was detected in all samples as a major compound. The chromatographic profile suggests that of Baccharis sp., which would be one of the botanical sources of propolis from western Argentina, and the content of galangin can be used as a parameter for evaluating propolis quality. Our results suggest that Argentine propolis from Cuyo is a promising source of bioactive compounds as ingredients for developing functional foods with a beneficial impact on oxidative stress.

The objective of this study was to evaluate the feasibility of posterior colpotomy for the surgical treatment oftubal ectopic pregnancy in hemodynamically stable women. We performed a retrospective analysis of medicalrecords obtained over a period of 18 months. Twelve cases were identified, with the following characteristics: meangestational age, 7.7 weeks; mean serum β-human chorionic gonadotropin level, 7,786 mIU/mL; and greater diameterof the mass, 15–69 mm. Treatment was successful in all cases. Salpingectomy was performed in 10 patients (83.3%)and salpingostomy, in 1 patient. The remaining patient only received peritoneal lavage, as the evidence of ectopicabortion with only a slightly dilated uterine tube was found during surgery. The mean surgical time was 42.5 minutes. In the analyzed cases, posterior colpotomy was found to be a feasible alternative method for the surgical treatmentof tubal ectopic pregnancy in hemodynamically stable women.
