Effect of Palestinian Honey on Spermatogenesis in Rats
Abdul-Salam Abdul-Ghani,Nabil Dabdoub,Rateb Muhammad,Rula Abdul-Ghani,Munir Qazzaz 한국식품영양과학회 2008 Journal of medicinal food Vol.11 No.4
Treatment of male albino rats with 5% honey for 20 days had no significant effect on total body weight or on the relative weight of other organs like the testis, seminal vesicles, spleen, kidneys, liver, heart, or brain. The only significant change was a 17% increase in the relative weight of the epididymis (P ≤ .01). The relative weight of all the other organs was similar to those in control animals treated for the same period with drinking water. Treatment of rats for the same period with the same concentration of 5% sucrose produced no significant changes in absolute or relative weight of tested organs compared to control animals. The same treatment with Palestinian honey increased significantly the epididymal sperm count by 37% (P ≤ .05). The activity of testicular marker enzymes for spermatogenesis such as sorbitol dehydrogenase (SDH) was increased by 31% (P ≤ .05), and lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was reduced by 48% (P ≤ .05), which indicates that treatment with honey induces spermatogenesis. Similar treatment with sucrose had no significant effect on any of the key enzymes or epididymal sperm count. In conclusion, our results show that ingestion of honey induces spermatogenesis in rats by increasing epididymal sperm count, increasing selectively the relative weight of the epididymis, and increasing SDH activity and reducing LDH activity.
Underwater image quality enhancement through Rayleigh-stretching and averaging image planes
Ghani, Ahmad Shahrizan Abdul,Isa, Nor Ashidi Mat The Society of Naval Architects of Korea 2014 International Journal of Naval Architecture and Oc Vol.6 No.4
Visibility in underwater images is usually poor because of the attenuation of light in the water that causes low contrast and color variation. In this paper, a new approach for underwater image quality improvement is presented. The proposed method aims to improve underwater image contrast, increase image details, and reduce noise by applying a new method of using contrast stretching to produce two different images with different contrasts. The proposed method integrates the modification of the image histogram in two main color models, RGB and HSV. The histograms of the color channel in the RGB color model are modified and remapped to follow the Rayleigh distribution within certain ranges. The image is then converted to the HSV color model, and the S and V components are modified within a certain limit. Qualitative and quantitative analyses indicate that the proposed method outperforms other state-of-the-art methods in terms of contrast, details, and noise reduction. The image color also shows much improvement.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become more and more widespread in recent years, thus attackers are placing greater emphasis on IoT environments. The IoT connects a large number of smart devices via wired and wireless networks that incorporate sensors or actuators in order to produce and share meaningful information. Attackers employed IoT devices as bots to assault the target server; however, because of their resource limitations, these devices are easily infected with IoT malware. The Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) is one of the many security problems that might arise in an IoT context. DDOS attempt involves flooding a target server with irrelevant requests in an effort to disrupt it fully or partially. This worst practice blocks the legitimate user requests from being processed. We explored an intelligent intrusion detection system (IIDS) using a particular sort of machine learning, such as Artificial Neural Networks, (ANN) in order to handle and mitigate this type of cyber-attacks. In this research paper Feed-Forward Neural Network (FNN) is tested for detecting the DDOS attacks using a modified version of the KDD Cup 99 dataset. The aim of this paper is to determine the performance of the most effective and efficient Back-propagation algorithms among several algorithms and check the potential capability of ANN- based network model as a classifier to counteract the cyber-attacks in IoT environments. We have found that except Gradient Descent with Momentum Algorithm, the success rate obtained by the other three optimized and effective Back- Propagation algorithms is above 99.00%. The experimental findings showed that the accuracy rate of the proposed method using ANN is satisfactory.
New Development of Wyndham Park, Australia Using 3-D Visualisation
Abdul Ghani, Mimi Zaleha,Sarkom, Yazid,Kasmuri, Kartini 한국생태환경건축학회 2018 한국생태환경건축학회 학술발표대회 논문집 Vol.18 No.2
The study demonstrated the actual process of developing a 3-D model for planning applications in the context of a local planning authority in Australia by exploring the use of interactive 3-D model to assist the Wyndham City Council in preparing for the revised local structure plan by transforming existing conventional planning materials into easily understood form. It highlights how 3-D visualisation has provided a better understanding of a development project in comparison to the existing 2-D information and its potential in testing of future scenarios and proposals for the council`s future sustainable development including urban activity centres.
Comparative Assessment for Two Wheels Inverted Pendulum Mobile Robot Using Robust Control
N. M. Abdul Ghani,N. I. Mat Yatim,N. A. Azmi 제어로봇시스템학회 2010 제어로봇시스템학회 국제학술대회 논문집 Vol.2010 No.10
Over the last decade, numbers of researcher has been increased in the two-wheeled inverted pendulum mobile robots or commonly known as balancing robot. This paper presents the linear modeling of two wheels inverted pendulum mobile robot and the robustness of sliding mode control. Linear modeling plant was obtained from the simplified nonlinear plant that was based on state-space approach. The dynamic model of the system has been established to design and analyze the control system, dynamic of the motors, chassis and wheels of balancing robot. Simulation on MATLAB/SIMULINK application is performed and to determine the performance and reliability of the Sliding Mode Controller.

Decision making is one of the critical issues in the Malaysian planning system. The study explored the potential of 3-D visualisation and GIS as a planning tool for decision making in Malaysian planning process. The study involved qualitative interviews with decision makers to identify critical issues in the development planning process involving interest and knowledge, awareness, manual system and finally, support. A quantitative analysis was subsequently carried out amongst decision makers involved in the development planning process to measure the potential and effectiveness of 3-D visualisation and GIS in decision making.
