Programming in MikroBasic for Automation in Pattern Based Manufacturing
Punit Anand,Anand M Sharan 보안공학연구지원센터 2014 International Journal of Control and Automation Vol.7 No.11
In this work the microcontroller is programmed in MikroBasic where the pattern shape is first determined using Fast Fourier Transforms offline and then the Fourier Coefficients are embedded in the program to perform calculations online to obtain the desired pattern. The stepper motors are used for accurate manufacturing. The program shows that microcontrollers do have sufficient memory to incorporate complex programs for intricate shape production.

Anand Chetan Shah,Vishnu Ramanujan,Krishna Muralidharan,Anand Raja 대한혈관외과학회 2021 Vascular Specialist International Vol.37 No.1
Purpose: This study aimed to evaluate and analyze the feasibility and the oncological and functional outcomes of limb salvage surgery in extremity soft tissue sarcomas (ESTS) and bone tumors invading vessels. Materials and Methods: This single-center retrospective analysis included patients with ESTS encasing or invading major blood vessels that were treated by limb salvage surgery with vascular resection and reconstruction between January 1995 and December 2019. Patients with contiguous involvement of major blood vessels and nerves and patients requiring amputation were excluded from the study. Results: A total of 24 vessels (14 arteries and 10 veins) in 14 patients were reconstructed. Ten (71.4%) patients underwent both arterial and venous reconstruction, and four (28.6%) underwent only arterial reconstruction. Reconstruction was performed with a reversed saphenous vein (RSV) graft in 12 patients and with a synthetic graft (SG) in the other 12 patients. At a median follow-up of 27 months, RSV grafts were patent in 10 of 12 (83.3%) vessels and SGs were patent in 6 of 12 (50.0%) vessels (log-rank test, P=0.083). Out of 14 arteries and 10 veins, 11 arteries and 5 veins were patent, respectively. No patient developed local recurrence, and 2 (14.3%) patients developed distant metastases. Limb salvage rate was 13/14 (92.9%). The mean Musculoskeletal Tumor Society score was 83.3%. The 5- and 10-year overall survival rates were 80% and 50%, respectively. Conclusion: Limb salvage surgery in ESTS with vascular resection and reconstruction is feasible and provides favorable oncological and functional outcomes.
Does Sarcopenia Increase the Risk for Fresh Vertebral Fragility Fractures?: A Case-Control Study
Ashish Anand,Ajoy Prasad Shetty,K. R. Renjith,Sri Vijay Anand K. S.,Rishi Mugesh Kanna,Shanmuganathan Rajasekaran 대한척추외과학회 2020 Asian Spine Journal Vol.14 No.1
Study Design: Case-control study. Purpose: Sarcopenia is an age associated condition characterized by decrease in muscle mass, strength, and physical performance. We aimed to investigate whether sarcopenia increased the risk of vertebral fragility fractures among the elderly. Overview of Literature: Initial reports on sarcopenia suggest its contribution to the development of vertebral fragility fractures. However, recent studies showed contradictory findings. Methods: Fifty-one consecutive patients with vertebral fragility fractures and matched controls without fractures were evaluated for sarcopenia, T-score, body mass index, and presence of preexisting vertebral fractures. Sarcopenia was diagnosed as total psoas cross-sectional area (TPA) 2 standard deviations below normative value from normal young adults and decreased handgrip strength (26 kg for men and 18 kg for women). Univariate and multivariate analyses were performed using the fresh fracture occurrence as the dependent variable. Results: Sarcopenia was confirmed in 29.4% and 7.8% of cases and controls (p=0.005), respectively; 56.8% and 13.7% of cases and controls had previous vertebral fractures. Sarcopenia prevalence was greater among those with previous fractures (38% vs. 7.6%; odds ratio, 7.76; p<0.001). TPA was lower among the cases (1,278 mm2 vs. 1,569 mm2, p=0.001) and those with previous fractures (1,168 mm2 vs. 1,563 mm2, p<0.001). Handgrip strength was greater among those without previous fractures (19.6 kg vs. 16.3 kg, p=0.05). In multivariate analysis, sarcopenia was not identified as a significant predictor of fresh fractures whereas previous fractures and lower T-score were found to be significant. Conclusions: Sarcopenia is not an independent risk factor for fresh vertebral fragility fractures in the elderly.

Non-axisymmetric endwall (NAEW) contouring method has shown promising results to reduce secondary losses using both experimental and numerical studies. The parameterized endwall contour shaping redistributes the local static pressure resulting in a reduced effect of loss generating elements. Present study discusses the effect of the fore extension of NAEW shape on secondary flow field at design and off-design incidences numerically for low-pressure (LP) linear turbine cascade. The steady Reynolds averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) simulations are performed using shear stress transport (SST) based γ − θ turbulence model in commercial solver. The simulations are performed for a low Re = 1.6×10 5based on blade chord and isentropic exit velocity. The two-part study discusses the effect of upstream extension of NAEW profile at design and off-design incidence cases, respectively. The study observed reduction in total pressure loss coefficient ( ω ) by implementing NAEW contour profiling. The NAEW with 40 % C ax extension is the most favorable case.
Application of SRCBD S: SnO2 nanostructured thin films as room temperature gas and humidity sensors
Anand B. C.,Shashidhar R.,Choudhary Nityanand 한국물리학회 2023 THE JOURNAL OF THE KOREAN PHYSICAL SOCIETY Vol.82 No.4
The flms were synthesized by the Substrate Rotation Chemical Bath Deposition method and have been characterized by various techniques. It is found that stoichiometry and band gap of SnO2 and S: SnO2 can be controlled moderately by air annealing as-deposited flms and substrate temperature strongly afects the surface morphology. The comparative chemiresistive performance of flms was studied for sensing applications of test gases and humidity. The sensitivity and relative sensor response of 5 ppm ethanol at room temperature were better than other test gases. The flms annealed in air at 300, 400 and 450 °C for 1 h have excellent responses towards propanol, ethanol, and acetone, respectively. In general, the fgure of merit of the synthesized gas sensor is found to vary from 2.8 to 24%, respectively. Annealed flms at 350 °C for one hour have ultrahigh response towards humidity. Response-recovery time was found to vary as a function of annealing temperature due to the decrement in sensor impedance. Selectivity of the gas sensor for test gases was found to reach its maximum due to variation of S S+Sn from 0.088 to 0.011. SRCBD has been reported to fabricate gas-humidity sensors economically with better steady and stable responses. The MOS sensor has shown ultrahigh humidity response and reasonable response at a low ppm of acetone gas at room temperature, which may be suitable as acetone breath analysis for seriously diabetic patients.
Molecular Docking Studies of p21-Activated Kinase-1 (PAK1) Inhibitors
Anand Balupuri, Pavithra K. Balasubramanian, Seung Joo Cho 조선대학교 기초과학연구원 2016 조선자연과학논문집 Vol.9 No.3
The p21-activated kinase-1 (PAK1) has emerged as a potential target for anticancer therapy. It is overexpressed in ovarian, breast and bladder cancers. This suggests that PAK1 may contribute to tumorigenesis. 4-azaindole derivatives are reported as potent PAK1 inhibitors. The present work deals with the molecular docking studies of 4-azaindoles with PAK1. Probable binding mode of these inhibitors has been identified by molecular modeling. Docking results indicated that hydrogen bonding interactions with Glu345 and Leu347 are responsible for governing inhibitor potency of the compounds. Additionally, Val284, Val328, Met344 and Leu396 were found to be accountable for hydrophobic interactions inside the active site of PAK1

Low surface-roughness and high-capacitance ion-conducting LiAlO2 gate dielectric thin flm has been fabricated by sol–gel technique to develop ultra-low voltage (≤1.0 V) indium-zinc-oxide thin flm transistor (TFT). This LiAlO2 dielectric shows α-LiAlO2 and γ-LiAlO2 phases those have been fabricated at two diferent temperatures. For both phases, mobile Li-ion is responsible to achieve a high dielectric constant (κ) of the material that helps to reduce the operating voltage of TFT. Additionally, lower surface roughness of LiAlO2 thin flm creates a low-density trap state in the semiconductor/dielectric interface which is capable to reduce operating voltage within 1.0-volt. The device with 700 °C annealed γ-LiAlO2 gate dielectric shows the best device performance with an electron mobility of 25 cm2 V−1 s−1 and an on/of ratio of 3×105 . Instead, 350 °C annealed α-LiAlO2 dielectric require only one volt to saturate the drain current and shows its mobility and on/of ratio are 13.5 cm2 V−1 s−1 and 1×104 respectively. Such kind of unusually low operation voltage TFT fabrication becomes possible because of the higher Li+ mobility of α-LiAlO2 gate dielectric and very low surface trap density. A model on carrier transport mechanism has been prepossessed to explain this achievement.
