The optimum blasting pattern to excavate a quarry efficiently and economically can be determined based on the minimum production cost, which is generally estimated according to rock fragmentation. Therefore, it is a critical problem to predict fragment size distribution of blasted rocks over an entire quarry. By comparing various prediction models, it can be ascertained that the result obtained from Kuz-Ram model relatively coincides with that of field measurements. Kuz-Ram model uses the concept of rock factor to signify conditions of rock mass such as block size, rock jointing, strength and others. For the evaluation of total production cost, it is imperative to estimate 3-D spatial distribution of rock factor for the entire quarry. In this study, a sequential indicator simulation technique is adopted for estimation of spatial distribution of rock factor due to its higher reproducibility of spatial variability and distribution models than Kriging methods. Further, this can reduce the uncertainty of predictor using distribution information of sample data. The entire quarry is classified into three types of rock mass and optimum blasting pattern is proposed for each type based on 3-D spatial distribution of rock factor. In addition, plane maps of rock factor distribution for each ground level are provided to estimate production costs for each process and to make a plan for an optimum blasting pattern.

인터넷에 있는 많은 응용프로그램들의 용도와 부가적인 정보를 아는 것은 매우 어렵다. 웹에는 수많은 정보들이 존재하고 이것들을 필요에 따라 정확하게 검색하는 것이 점점 어려워지고 있다. 이러한 어려움을 해결하기 위해 현재 메타데이터를 사용하여 웹 자원을 검색하는 연구가 활발하게 진행되고 있다. W3C는 메타데이터의 상호운용성과 통합을 위한 환경으로 RDF(Resource Description Framework)를 표준으로 정했다. 본 논문에서는 응용프로그램이나 프로그램 개발에 필요한 작은 단위의 프로그램에 대해 RDF를 이용하여 메타데이터로 만들고 이것을 대상으로 검색 가능하도록 하여 사용자가 원하는 정보를 보다 정확한 검색을 수행할 수 있도록 하였다.

This paper deals with friction-induced vibration of disc brake system under constact friction coefficient. A linear. finite element model to represent the floating caliper disc brake system is proposed. The complex eigenvalues are used to investigate the dynamic stability and in order to verify simulations which are based on the FEM model. The comparison of experimental and analytical results shows a good agreement and the analysis indicates that mode coupling due to friction force and geometric instability is responsible for disc brake squeal. And the Front brake system reduced the squeal noise using design of experiment method (DOE). This helped to validate the FEM model and establish confidence in the simulation results. Also they may be useful during real disk brake model.

Disc brake noise is an important customer satisfaction and warranty issue for many manufacturers as indicated by technical literature regarding the subject coming from Motor Company. This research describes results of a study to assess disk brake squeal propensity using finite element methods and optimal technique (Kriging). In this study, finite element analysis has been performed to determine likely modes of brake squeal. This paper deals with friction-induced vibration of disc brake system under contact friction coefficient. A linear, finite element model to represent the floating caliper disc brake system is proposed. This paper proposes an optimal design scheme to reduce the noise of the engine cooling fan by adapting Kriging with two meta-heuristic techniques. An engineering model has been developed for the prediction of the noise spectrum of the engine cooling fan. The noise of the fan is expressed as the discrete frequency noise peaks at the BPF and its harmonics and line spectrum at the broad band by noise generation mechanisms. The object of this paper is to find the optimal design for noise reduction of the engine cooling fan. We firstly show a comparison of the measured and calculated noise spectra of the fan for the validation of the noise prediction program. Orthogonal array is applied as design of experiments because it is suitable for Kriging. With these simulated data, we can estimate a correlation parameter of Kriging by solving the nonlinear problem with genetic algorithm and find an optimal level for the noise reduction of the cooling fan by optimizing Kriging estimates with simulated annealing. We notice that this optimal design scheme gives noticeable results. Therefore, an optimal design for the cooling fan is proposed by reducing the noise of its system.

Since human listening is very sensitive when the sound hit him, the subjective index of sound quality is required. Therefore, at each situation of sound evaluation its composed with the sound quality factor. But, when substituting the level of one frequency band we could not see the tendency of substitution at whole frequency band during the sound quality evaluation. In this study a design of experiment is used. The frequency domain is divided into an equally 12 parts and each level of domain whether is given increase or decrease due to the change of frequency band based on ‘loud’ and ‘sharp’ of the sound quality is analyzed. By using the design of experiment the number of test is reduce very effectively by the number of experiment and each band the main effect will be as a solution. The case of sound quality for ‘loud’ and ‘sharp’ at each band, the change of band (increase or decrease of sound pressure or keep maintain) which will be the most effects on the characteristics of sound quality can be identify and this will be able to us to select the objective frequency band. Through these obtained results the physical changes of level at arbitrary frequency domain sensitivity can be adapted.

In recent years, several studies of the practical application of noise and vibration control have been developed to plate. This paper proposes passive control scheme to reduce the structure borne noise of the plate using piezoelectric shunt damping techniques. The use of piezoelectric shunt damping in reducing vibration and sound radiation of structures has several advantages over passive visco-elastic materials. The model for a clamped plate bonded with piezoelectric shunt damping is built using Lagrangian and Hamilton’s principle. Using the Hamilton’s principle, the mechanical and electrical equations of the system can be obtained. The designs resulting from the simulation model are then implemented and evaluated by experiments. These experiments were carried out on the basis of quantitative and subjective performance measures. This technique suggests improving the efficiency of vibration and noise control at the high technology system.
