The purpose of this study is to explore the formation process of housing notion for later life of the elderly which is based on one's lifetime housing experiences. Qualitative data was collected through in-depth interviews with 6 highincome, highly educated aged women, who could select their housing and move voluntarily in old age and explain their housing experiences logically. The findings of this study showed that housing notion for later life was formed through a complex process of individual personality, lifestyle, housing experiences, housing values, housing market and period background as well as socio-demographic characteristics. This qualitative study has a significance as a holistic approach to reveal the lifelong experience of elderly individuals which had not been to deal in the quantitative research of housing for the elderly in the meantime.
PEN 기판위에 무기물 가스 베리어 층을 갖는 ITO 박막의 전기적 및 광학적 특성

In this work, a (SiO2)3(ZnO)7 at.% at.% (SZO) film, to be used as a gas barrier layer for flexible displays, was coated on a polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) substrate by using a rf-magnetron sputtering method. The PEN with a SZO gas barrier layer showed a very low water vapor transmission rate of less than 10-3 g/m2/day. In order to study the possibility of application to flexible displays, we investigated the electrical properties before and after bending tests of the ITO films with a SZO gas barrier layer on a PEN substrate (ITO/SZO/PEN). The results showed improved electrical conductivity and stability as compared to those of an ITO film deposited on a bare PEN substrate without a SZO barrier layer (ITO/PEN). The electrical conductivity of the ITO/SZO/PEN film was hypothesized to be a result of the SZO layer acting as either a buffer layer, improving the adhesion between the ITO film and the PEN substrate, or a layer protecting against water vapor in the air and/or organic solvents diffusing from the PEN during deposition of the ITO film. In addition, the improved electrical stability of the ITO/SZO/PEN film was hypothesized to be a result of the SZO layer acting as a buffer, layer improving the adhesion between the ITO film and the PEN substrate. Thus, we suggest that the PEN with a SZO gas barrier layer is sufficiently transparent and has a superior ability to protect against the permeation of water vapor; thus, it can be applied to a substrate for transparent conductive oxide film in a flexible display. 본 연구에서 (SiO2)3(ZnO)7 at.%의 혼합비를 갖는 SZO 박막은 플렉서블 디스플레이용 가스 베리어 층으로 사용하기 위해 rf 마그네트론 스퍼터링법에 의해 폴리에틸렌 나프탈레이트 (Polyethylene naphthalate : PEN) 기판위에 증착되었다. SZO 가스 베리어 층을 갖는 PEN 기판은 10-3g/m2/day 이하의 매우 낮은 수분 투습율을 나타냈다. 플렉서블 디스플레이를 위한 적용 가능성을 연구하기 위해, PEN 기판위에 SZO 가스 베리어 층을 갖는 ITO 박막 (ITO/SZO/PEN)의 벤딩 테스트 전과 후의 전기적인 특성은 SZO 베리어 층이 없는 PEN 기판위에 증착된 ITO 박막 (ITO/PEN)에 비해 매우 향상된 전기적인 전도성과 안정성을 보였다. ITO/SZO/PEN 막의 향상된 전기적 안정성은 SZO 가스 베리어 층이 ITO 박막을 증착하는 동안에 PEN 기판으로부터 확산하는 유기 솔벤트들 및 대기중의 수분들에 대해 보호층으로 작용하거나 PEN 기판과 ITO 박막사이의 부착력을 향상시키는 완충층으로 작용하였기 때문으로 사료된다. 결국, 우리는 SZO 가스 베리어층을 갖는 PEN이 높은 광학적 투과율과 수분 투과에 대해 뛰어난 보호력을 가지므로 플렉서블 디스플레이에서 투명 전도막을 위한 기판으로 적용될 수 있음을 제안하고자 한다.
Fixing Chaos by Continuous Proportional Feedback

Most autonomous chaotic flows have unstable fixed points in the phase space. These represent stationary states. We here show that chaotic flows can be stabilized to them by small continuous proportional feedback. The feedback may be a parameter modulation or an external force. The stabilized flows are robust to noises and experience no burst.
