        직.간접디지털 파노라마 방사선촬영시 흡수선량과 유효선량

        Purpose : We evaluated the absorbed doses to the organs and calculated the effective doses when using the digital panoramic radiography. Materials and Methods : The absorbed dose averages in major organs of oral and maxillofacial region were measured using the Dental head phantom (CIRS Co., USA), $^nLi_2B_4O_7$ TLD chip and UD-716AGL dosimeter (Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., JPN) when performing indirect and direct digital panoramic radiography. Effective doses were calculated from correspond to ICRP 2007 recommendations for two panoramic radiography. Results : The absorbed dose average on indirect and direct digital panoramic radiography was highest in parotid glands as measured 1259.6 mGy and 680.7 mGy respectively. Absorbed dose average in another organs were high in order of esophagus, submandibular gland, tongue and thyroid gland on both types of digital panoramic radiography. The absorbed dose average was higher on indirect type than direct one (p<0.05). The effective dose was higher on indirect type than direct one as measured 13.28 mSv and 8.70 mSv respectively. Conclusion : The absorbed doses in salivary gland and oral mucosa were high. However, thyroid gland also demands the attention on radiography due to high tissue weighting factor in spite of the low absorbed dose.

        The Role of the Ethylacetate Fraction from Hydnocarpi Semen in Acute Inflammation In Vitro Model

        We previously reported that Hydnocarpi Semen (HS) has a wound healing effect on diabetic foot ulcer lesion in mice. In this study, ethylacetate (EtOAc) fraction from HS extract were evaluated for their wound healing activity by using in vitro acute inflammation model. GC and GC/MS analysis shows that the main constituents in EtOAc fraction are chaulmoogric acid, hydnocarpic acid, and gorlic acid. EtOAc fraction activated macrophages to increase the production of TNF-α. The fraction also increased the production of TGF-βand VEGF, which induced fibroblast activation and angiogenesis. These results suggest that the mechanism that the fraction helps to enhance healing of skin wound is possibly associated with the production of TNF-α, as well as secretion of VEGF, TGF-β and HS may have a new bioactive material for the treatment of skin wound.         A high numerical aperture objective for mid-infrared imaging is designed. Its tolerance for fabrication errors is analyzed. The system has a diffraction limited imaging performance for 3 to 5 in wavelength. The effective focal length, numerical aperture, and lateral magnification of the objective are respectively 22 mm, 0.75 and 10X. The diameter of the image is 20 mm.

        Effective dose from direct and indirect digital panoramic units

        Purpose: This study aimed to provide comparative measurements of the effective dose from direct and indirect digital panoramic units according to phantoms and exposure parameters. Materials and Methods: Dose measurements were carried out using a head phantom representing an average man (175 cm tall, 73.5 kg male) and a limbless whole body phantom representing an average woman (155 cm tall, 50 kg female). Lithium fluoride thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD) chips were used for the dosimeter. Two direct and 2 indirect digital panoramic units were evaluated in this study. Effective doses were derived using 2007 International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP) recommendations. Results: The effective doses of the 4 digital panoramic units ranged between 8.9 μSv and 37.8 μSv. By using the head phantom, the effective doses from the direct digital panoramic units (37.8 μSv, 27.6 μSv) were higher than those from the indirect units (8.9 μSv, 15.9 μSv). The same panoramic unit showed the difference in effective doses according to the gender of the phantom, numbers and locations of TLDs, and kVp. Conclusion: To reasonably assess the radiation risk from various dental radiographic units, the effective doses should be obtained with the same numbers and locations of TLDs, and with standard hospital exposure. After that, it is necessary to survey the effective doses from various dental radiographic units according to the gender with the corresponding phantom.

        Cone-beam computed tomography 영상에서의 쇄골두개형성이상

        Cleidocranial dysplasia is a rare autosomal dominent disorder characterized by aplasia or hypoplasia of the clavicles, an open fontanelle, and dental abnormalities. We present the case of an 11-year-old female with short stature and mixed dentition. The patient demonstrated abnormal hypermobility of the shoulder, ocular hypertelorism, and a concave nasal bridge. Examination of panoramic imagesrevealed some morphological abnormalities of the maxilla and mandible, particularly in the ascending ramus and coronoid process. Characteristics includingwide discontinuity of the zygomatic arch, wide nose bridge, near parallel-sided borders of the ascending ramus of the mandible, and obtuse mandibular angle were confi rmed by 3-dimensional imaging using cone-beam computed tomography.

        측두하악관절에 발생한 활액연골종증과 골연골종의 CBCT 영상

        Synovial chondromatosis is an uncommon disorder characterized by metaplastic formation of multiple cartilaginous and osteocartilaginous nodules within connective tissue of the synovial membrane of joints. Osteochondroma is a benign lesion of osseous and cartilagenous origin. It is frequently found in the general skeleton, but is rare in the mandibular condyle. We experienced 2 patients with abnormal appearance of temporomandibular joint. Histologic diagnoses were not obtained, because surgery was unwarranted in view of the lack of symptoms and the benign differential diagnosis. We describes 2 cases that show the characteristics of both disease simultaneously.

        The study was been investigated and analyzed over two periods, August and October of 1990 for the purpose of examining Eutrophication of artificial lake. As a result of the study, we proved the correlationship between water quality condition depending on depth and season and concentration of nutrient of chlorophyll-a and we examined trophic state of lake. N/P difference, TSI, phosporus model and got Estimation of Environmental Assimilating capacity by permitted load and subtracted load of T-P. 1. The differences of water temperatures at four points according to the depth of water are : We have got a maximum value, 8℃ at HY-4 in the firstperiod and a minimum one, 3℃ at HY-1 in the sencond in August, the first period stablization was found however it was rarely found on the second period. 2. As a result of Estimation at four different depth of water over two periods, we could discover a vigorus of pH, DO, chlorophyll-a. In the first period the maximum surface concentration chlrophyll-a was 28.5㎎/㎥. 3. N/P difference was from 48.8 to 21.7 the average was 30.2 4. The correlationship between nutrient and chlorophyll-a concentration was r=0.78 5. We estimated applying carlson TSI(Trophic state index) Which shows trophic state of the lake and got TSI(CHI)55, TSI(TP)56 mesotrophic state. 6. We have adopted which were developed considering nutrient as limiting factor and obtained the result as follows : Vollenweider Model case Eutrophic state Larsen and Mercier Model case Eutrophic state Dillon Model case Mesotrophic state 7. Evaluating predictable value and real value of model by T-P. We could have the closest approximate value in the case of kirchner/Dillon model.
