In this paper, we present the results of an experimental investigation pertaining to the mechanical properties of polyvinyl chloride pipe (PVC pipe) which is widely utilized in the sewage and waste water drainage system. PVC pipe has superior characteristics such as high corrosion resistance against various chemicals, no electrical conductivity and electrical corrosion, high strength and stiffness per unit weight, etc. Due to the above mentioned characteristics, in recent years, many developed countries (including Japan, USA, Europe, etc.) are adopting as a major material for the sewage and waste water drainage system. In order to promote wide variety of utilization in the Korean market, appropriate quality of PVC pipe must be maintained and provided to the design and construction engineers. Several PVC pipe samples were taken and relevant tests were conducted to investigate the quality, i.e., mechanical properties, according to the associated test specifications. The results of experimental investigations are presented and discussed.

Infectious diseases are mainly caused by organisms, which are hosts that carry the causative pathogen. Since the living organisms that become the medium are affected by the environment, environmental issues in the outbreak of infectious diseases should also be addressed in depth. Particularly, it is known that the growth rate of pathogens is very closely related to climate factors among various environmental factors. The recent rapid progress in climate change is expected to affect the outbreak of infectious diseases in the future as weather factors change significantly. In this study, we analyzed the correlation between infectious diseases and climate factors using a statistical method using climate factors of the last 10 years as indicators, focusing on respiratory infectious diseases. In addition, indicators with high correlation based on these analysis results, we developed focus on those indicators predictive indicators for the outbreak of new infectious diseases.

In multi-use facilities such as schools, periodic indoor disinfection is used as a method to reduce the probability of infection. However, little is known about the community effect of indoor microorganisms, which are the cause of infection. In this study, the change of bacterial community before and after disinfection in university classrooms was analyzed through genetic analysis. Before disinfection, the surface bacterial community decreased immediately after disinfection. After student entry and exit, the surface bacterial community increased to a level like that before disinfection. In addition, the number of airborne bacteria in the classroom without students before disinfection was higher than the number of airborne bacteria in the classroom with students after disinfection, and the number of airborne bacteria in the outside air was similar, and this was also observed in the qualitative cluster analysis using genes.

Interest in air quality in multi-use facilities is high. In particular, indoor air quality in schools is related to the health of students and teachers who spend more than eight hours a day at school. The study conducted an analysis of microbes in particulate matter in school classrooms. Using Next Generation Sequencing(NGS), the correlation between the effects of human activity and the distribution and composition of microorganisms was analyzed. These microorganisms were targeted at bacteria and fungi.
國內産 茶葉의 유리아미노산, 데아닌, 카테친 含量에 관한 硏究

The contents of total free amino acid, theanaine and catechin were analyzed and compared in tea shoot of native korean tea plant (Camellia sinensis var. sinensis) picking from thirteen places and Yabukita(Camellia sinensis var. yabukita), and excellent Japanese variety. Results of this investigation are summarized as follow. The content of total free animo acid of the Yabukita(2376mg/100g) was higher than that of the average of native korean tea plants(1947mg/100g). The content of total free amino acid of Hadong - gun and Tamyang - gun was higher than that of the average of other districts. Theanine content among free amono acids was the highest as 1281 mg/100g in Yabukita and the average content of wild varieties was 1060 mg/100g. The contents of catechin at Koksong - gun was the highest as 12.56%, and that of Yongkwang - gun was the lowest as 8.83%. The main ingredients had order of (-)EGCG > (-)EGC > (-)ECG > (-)EC >(+)C.
