A 2-step process for the safe disposal of chemical warfare agents(agent hydrolysis followed by incineration In the submerged-quench incinerator) was studied to obtain basic data for the design of pilot plant in the future. Sample materials used for the hydrolysis reaction were sarin(GB), sulfur mustard (HD), and methylphosphonic difluoride(DF). The hydrolysates of these materials were thermally destroyed in a submerged-quench incineration system. Experimental conditions for achieving destruction efficiency of 99.99% in both steps were established and phosphoric acid was recovered from the waste water when destroying DF hydrolysate in the incinerator. Treated water could be reused as process water for the agent hydrolysis.

The passive open-path Fourier-Transform-Infrared system was implemented for the toxic gas monitoring. Noise Equivalent Differential Temperature(NEDT) was investigated as a system performance evaluation figure and analyzed numerically with the designed parameters. Calculated NEDT was compared with the experimental value in the wavelength region of $700{\sim}1400cm^{-1}^$. The minimum detectable gas concentration was estimated from the obtained NEDT at the absorption wavelength of $SF_6$.
수용액에서 SPE-ACF를 이용한 특정화학물질의 신속 스크리닝 기법 연구

study of the solid phase extraction (SPE) technique using activated carbon fiber (ACF) as a sorbent was carried out on the schedule chemicals in water. 14 different schedule chemicals, which are the hydrolysis products and simulants of chemical agents such as alkylphosphonate, thiodiglycol etc. were selected for the study. Pyridine was used as a promoter to increase the derivatization efficiency, especially to improve silylation of 3-quinuclidinol. To improve the recovery efficiency of amines in the water solution, 1 mL of 5% Et3N/MeOH was introduced into SPE-ACF before the water sample loading. Throughout this study, the optimum condition was established to detect rapidly above chemicals in water. 활성탄소섬유(ACF; activated carbon fiber)를 흡착제로 사용한 고상추출법(SPE; solid phase extraction)으로 수용액 시료 중에 존재하는 특정화학물질(schedule chemicals)의 분석법을 연구하였다. 본 연구에 사용된 특정화학물질은 화학작용제류의 가수분해 생성물과 유사작용제로 사용되는 알킬포스포네이트류, 티오디글리콜 등 14종이었다. 분석을 위한 추출물의 실릴 유도체화 반응에서 피리딘을 사용하여 특히 3-quinuclidinol의 유도체화 반응 효율을 높일 수 있었다. 물 시료에서 아민류의 추출 회수율을 개선하기 위하여 SPE-ACF 튜브에 시료를 부하하기 전에 5% triethylamine/MeOH(1 mL) 용액으로 SPE-ACF 튜브를 세척한 후에 시료를 SPE-ACF에 부하하는 방법으로 추출 회수율을 증대시킬 수 있었다. 이 연구를 통해서 수용액 시료에서 특정화학물질을 신속히 검출할 수 있는 최적 조건을 선정하였다.
Physostigmine 과 Procyclidine 으로 구성된 복합예방제의 유기인제 해독효능

N/A Antidotal efficacy of combinational prophylactics composed of physostigmine plus procyclidine, alone or in combination with antidotes such as atropine plus 2-pralidoxime or atropine plus HI-6, was evaluated in rats. Physostigmine (0.1 mg/kg) plus procyclidine (3 mg/kg), pretreated subcutaneously 30 min prior to subcutaneous exposure to organophosphates of militarily importance, exerted protection ratios of 7.2, 6.5, 4.0, 2.9 and 8.0 fold for tabun, sarin, soman, cyclosarin and V-agent, respectively. In comparison, low effects (1.7 fold for soman and 1.3 fold for cyclosarin) were achieved with the traditional antidotes atropine (17.4 mg/ kg) plus 2-pralidoxime (30 mg/kg) administered intramuscularly immediately after organophosphate, in contrast to high effects (5.5 fold for soman and 160.0 fold for cyclosarin) with atropine (17.4 mg/kg) plus HI-6 (125 mg/kg), although the protection ratio markedly decreased when treatment of antidotes was delayed. Noteworthy, the combinational prophylactics markedly potentiated the effects of antidotes to higher than 5.0 fold in all cases. In addition, the combinational prophylactics fully prevented the seizures and excitotoxic brain injuries induced by a high dose (100 mg/kg, 1.3 LD_(50)) of soman. Taken together, it is suggested that the prophylactics composed of physostigmine and procyclidine, in combination with posttreatment antidotes, could be a promising regimen for the prevention of lethality, seizures and brain injuries induced by organophosphates possessing diverse properties.
