This presents a case of anomalous pulmonary venous drainage from the right lung to the inferior vena cava [scimitar syndrome], which was corrected with an intracardiac approach. Autogenous pericardium was used to create an intracardiac tunnel redirecting flow from the anomalous vein to the left atrium through a surgically enlarged atrial septal defect. The postoperative results have veen satisfactory.

Dead space of empyema occurrs from incomplete obliteration of infected pleural space from pulmonary tuberculosis, pyogenic infection, esophageal disease and post pulmonary resection. Chronic empyema can be treated by obliteration of dead space with autologous tissues such as, extrathoracic muscle flap and omental flap and thorachoplasty. Between May, 1986 to July, 1991 we treated 17 chronic empyema patients with autologous tissues and analysed the result. 1. Sex distribution was 14 males and 3 females between 5~62 years old. [mean 39.7 years old] 2. The volume of the dead space ranged from 100 to 450cc. [mean 213. 76cc] 3. The majority of used muscle flap were serratus anterior and latissimus dorsi, and there were 2 cases of am ntal flap. 4. The majority of underlying disease were pulmonary tuberculosis and there were 8 BPF[47%] in 17 patients 5. In 7 cases, thorachoplsty was needed. 6. Three cases recurred and there were no death.

Magneto-Impedance(MI) sensor is a highly sensitive sensor, which was able to detect a weak geomagnetic field. It also has a merit to be able to build in the low power system. In this study, their magnetic permeability and anisotropy field(H$\sub$k/) as a function of some different thickness of sputtered amorphous CoZrNb films with zero-magnetostriction and soft magnetic property are investigated. In order to make a uniaxial anisotropy, film was subjected to the post annealing in a static magnetic field with 1KOe intensity at 250, 300, and 320$^{\circ}C$ respectively for 2 hours. Magnetic properties of films are measured by using a M-H loop tracer. Magnetic permeability of a film is measured over the frequency range from 1 ㎒ to 750㎒. By thickening a CoZrNb film relatively, magnetic permeability and impedance are examine to design the. MI sensor which drives at 50㎒, and thereof fabricated the MI sensor which drives at the 50㎒.
토크마그네토미터를 이용한 자화 및 보자력측정의 새로운 방법

We have developed new techniques to measure the magnetization and coercivity of a uniaxial magnetic material using a torque magnetometer. The magnetization could be measured from the slope of the linear region in a plot of the torque τ versus the applied field H, when the direction of the applied field was normal to the uniaxial orientation. While, the coercivity could be obtained by taking the value of applied field where the torque was zero, when the direction of the applied field was (180+δ) degrees from the uniaxial orientation. The techniques were applied to determine the magnetizations and coercivities of several Co/Pd multilayer thin films and the results were confirmed to be similar within a 2% difference to those obtained by a vibrating sample magnetometer.

Air Management System is composed by Pump, Fan, Compressor and Blower. In general their performances depend on the capability of the motor, power converter device and controller. Especially, it should be noticed upon designing Air Management System using for Fuel Cell System, that Pump, Fan, Compressor and Blower satisfy the condition of the high performance, high efficiency, high density and reasonable price considering the safety and Economic Efficiency. In order for this, it should be studied that which kind of Motor is the most suited for Air Management System for Fuel Cell, such as Induction Motor, Brushless DC Motor, and Switched Reluctance Motor which is widely using in industry. This paper presents the designing and manufacturing of Outer Rotor Type BLDC Motor and Driver for Air Blower of Air Management System. Experimental results from a laboratory prototype are presented to validate the feasibility of the proposed Air Blower Motor and Driver.
