This paper proposes the allocation method for capacitor-reactor banks in a distribution system with dispersed generators to reduce the installation costs, the maintenance costs and minimize the loss of electrical energy. The expected lifetime and maintenance period of devices with moving parts depends on the total number of operations, which affects the replacement and maintenance period for aging equipment under a limited budget. In this paper, the expected device lifetimes and the maintenance period are included in the formulation, and the optimal operation status of the devices is determined using a genetic algorithm. The optimal numbers and locations for capacitor-reactor banks are determined based on the optimal operation status. Simulation results in a 69-bus distribution system with the dispersed generator show that the proposed technique performs better than conventional methods.
배전계통의 다양한 유지보수 기법을 적용한 신뢰도 기반 최적 유지보수 모델

앞으로 진행되는 배전계통의 자유화 환경에서 각 배전사업자들은 고객에게 높은 신뢰수준의 전력을 값싸게 공급하려 할 것이다. 높은 수준의 신뢰수준을 유지하기 위해서 배전계통내의 component의 점검을 통하여 고장의 원인이 될 만한 것들을 찾아내고 고장이 일어나기 전에 그것을 유지보수 하여야 한다. 이 문제는 대상 component를 얼마나 자주 점검 및 보수를 해야 하는가 라는 문제가 된다. 하지만 그에 따른 비용도 소요가 될 것이다. 본 논문에서는 점검 과 보수 과정의 model을 Markov model 로 사용하였으며 대상 component의 상태에 따라서 다른 보수 기법을 적용함으로써 점검비용과 보수비용 정전비용을 최소화 하는 점검 주기를 찾았다. 또한 제안된 방법을 실제 시스템과 유사한 모의시스템에 적용하였다.

To execute load curtailment efficiently for Urban Railway Load, the load patterns of the Urban Railway Load and available amount of load curtailment over the Urban Railway Load are analyzed through comparing the load to the common power loads. In addition, the current policies of the load curtailment for the Urban Railway Load are investigated and the problems of those are presented. Based on the researches, the optimal load curtailment strategies for the Urban Railway Load are proposed to minimize the consumer’s utility diminishment and the costs of the use of energies. Finally, the optimal load curtailment strategies are applied to the real Urban Railway Load, the results shows that proposed methods are efficient and cost effective while the amount of load curtailment is minimized.
송전계통의 열화 되고 있는 기기에 대한 신뢰도 기반 유지보수 계획수립

In deregulated power market, Transmission companies not only decrease their operation costs, but also take opportunities to maximize their profit. On the other hand, they should operate to meet customer needs for reliability. In this respect, they need to make the maintenance strategies considering the tradeoff between cost and reliability. This paper proposes the equipment state modeling through modified semi-Markov chain that has deterioration stages by considering characteristics of equipment. Besides, the effects of equipment failure on the system are presented in terms of a cost using the DC-Optimal Power Flow (OPF). The paper includes test the results using Genetic Algorithm (GA) on the IEEE 9-bus system. The results show the optimal maintenance strategy which minimizes operation costs.
도시철도 부하특성을 고려한 ESS의 최적 운영방안 연구

This paper proposes the optimal operation of ESS (Energy Storage System) in the substation of urban railway in an economical point of view. Since the load patterns of urban railway have different characteristics with the general power demand pattern, the characteristics motivate us to develop the optimal operation algorithm for ESS under Korean electricity billing system. We also introduce two different ESS operation strategies for peak load shaving and electricity consumption charge minimization respectively, and formulate each scheme. Historical data from Namgwangju substation are used for economical comparison of the strategies. The results show that the proposed algorithm is the most cost-effective ESS operation scheme among the strategies and reduces around 5 percent of electric charges compared to the charge without ESS operation.

The aims of the demand response market are stabilization of the power supply and improving of the reliability of the power system. The various applications of the energy storage system (ESS) in the railway systems are studied and implemented to raise the energy efficiency. It is one of the most important how to determine the obligation reduction capacity (ORC) in participation to the demand response market because it has an influence on the profit extremely. In this paper, when participating to the demand response market with demands in the urban railway, we calculated the available ORC and economically evaluated ESS based on the real load data.
풍력발전의 변동성을 고려한 기동정지계획에서의 적정 Ramping 용량 산정

Wind energy is rapidly becoming significant generating technologies in electricity markets. As probabilistic nature of wind energy creates many uncertainties in the short-term scheduling, additional actions for reliable market operation should be taken. This paper presents a novel approach to evaluate ramping capability requirement for changes in imbalance energy between day-ahead market and real-time market due to uncertainty of wind generation as well as system load. Dynamic ramp rate model has been applied for realistic solution in unit commitment problem, which is implemented in day-ahead market. Probabilistic optimal power flow has been used to verify ramping capability determined by the proposed method is reasonable in economic and reliable aspects. This approach was tested on six-bus system and IEEE 118-bus system with a wind farm. The results show that the proposed approach provides ramping capability information to meet both forecasted variability and desired confidence level of anticipated uncertainty.

도시철도 부하는 전차선 부하와 역사 부하로 구분할 수 있으며, 역사 부하는 조명, 전열, 동력, 공조 등의 용도로 사용된다. 전력 소비 절감을 위하여 부분적인 부하차단이 이루어지고 있는데, 도시철도 운영기관은 부하의 중요도 및 특성에 따라 부하 차단 가능 여부를 구분하고 있다. 역사에 대한 안정적인 전력공급은 물론이고 추후 수요자원 시장에 도시철도 역사가 참여할 경우의 경제성을 분석하기 위하여 도시철도역사의 전력부하에 대한 분석이 필요하다. 이 논문에서는 도시철도 역사 부하의 부하차단 가능 여부에 따른 각 부하의 구성비를 정리하고, 전력요금제도 및 수요자원 거래 시장 제도 하에서 전력요금비용 절감 가능성에 대해서 검토한다. Load of a substation consists of car load and station load which includes lighting, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, lifts, etc. Load shedding is done to reduce the consumption of electricity, and the electric loads are categorized by the possibility of cut out in the substation of urban railway. It is important to analyze the electric load, because it is needed to stably supply electric power with low cost. This paper presents the analysis of electric load in the actual substation of urban railway and the possibility to reduce the electricity fee with demand response market.
