In this study, a steering wheel sensor has been designed and developed for haptic steering system of a vehicle simulator. The steering wheel sensor consists of a torque transducer to measure reaction forces between ground and tire, and an encoder to measure steering angles. The steering wheel sensor housing has been designed in compact size, in order to put a torque transducer and an encoder together into the limited space between the steering wheel and the shaft. Vehicle handling test such as slalom has been also carried out to inspect performance of tile developed sensor. Test results show reasonable responses of the developed sensor.<br/>

Multibody dynamics formulation has been developed based on relative cartesian coordinates for subsystem analysis. Relative cartesian coordinates are defined with respect to a reference body of a subsystem. Relative cartesian formulation inherits the same merits of absolute cartesian formulation, such as generality and easy implementation. Two methods have been applied. One is Largrange Multiplier Elimination method and the other is independent coordinate method. A 1/4 car simulation has been carried out to verify the formulations. Since both methods provide identical results, it proves the validity of the formulation.
3축 로봇 개념을 이용한 시뮬레이션 기반 모바일 위성안테나 설계

A mobile satellite antenna has been virtually designed using 3-axes robot design concept. Mobile satellite antennas must have abilities to target a satellite and at the same time to stabilize the antenna dish in order to maintain its orientation toward the satellite. To achieve such design requirements, three axes robot design concept has been employed. A 3-D CAD model has been creel ted to virtually realize the design concept. In order to insure the created CAD model. kinematic analyses have been carried out for collision detection of the parts. Inverse dynamic analyses have been also carried out to compute required torques for motor selection using multibody dynamic analysis program ADAMS. Since mobile satellite antennas experience base motions, a relevant control system should control the three antenna axis to maintain the dish orientation to point the satellites accurately. A PIDA control algorithm are designed and Implemented into the virtual multi body model to control the yaw. level (roll). and cross-level (pitch) angle of a mobile satellite antenna. ADAMS and Matlab co-simulation scheme is employed in order to examine whether proposed PIDA control algorithm provides effective characteristics comparing with PID control.

In order to survey the cause of the eutrophication in Taechong reservoir, the water body around Taejon intake tower were divided into 5 groups, and the samples were taken to analyse the quality of water, deposits and algae. The relationship between the water quality and the meteorological factors in the study area was investigated and the contamination mechanism in the reservoir was explained. Finally, the relation between T-N concentration and inflow volume was established.

The regional unbalance of water quantity and the deterioration of water quality become pending problems that should be solved. Although monthly streamflow data have been used in most water resources plannings to cope with the problems, for more effective management of confined water resources the exact calculation of daily droughtflow is essential. In this study, the droughtflows at Backokpo watershed in Han River were measured from May 1993 to May 1994 and the relations between drogughtflow and the hydrogeological character of the watershed were figured out.
