CNC 밀링에 의한 볼록곡면 가공시의 가공특성에 관한 연구

In order to suggest the proper cutting conditons of the CNC milling machining for the free-form surface, some experments were carried out. In the experiments, the influence of cutting conditions on a inclined spherical surface were examined by geometrical analysis. In this study, the roundness and cutting force were measured to know the effect of several cutting conditions on the machined surface and the cutting characteristics were carefully investigated. The results obtained in this study are aw follows. 1) If the tool ha s enough rigidity, we can get better dimensional accuracy in up-ward cutting than down- ward cutting. 2) A great roundness error is appeared on the surface declined under 30 degress to the horizontal plane in circular machining by a bal end mill. 3) If the thrust force is increased, the stability of tool is decreased. And the phenomenon is apperared in great in down-ward cutting than up-ward cutting.

This study suggests an algorithm for tooth profile generation of free form curve involute gear, a special gear, of which the pitch line is a free curve instead of a circular one. For the first, a methodology for calculation of the tooth curve is developed and formulated. Then the formulated algorithm is programmed for manufacturing and verified by computer graphics. Next, the calculated results are changed into NC codes to apply to wire electric discharge machine(WEDM). Finally, the machined gear is examined in engagement with a standard involute gear.

Although the net-shape molding of composites is generally recommended, molded composites frequently requires cut-ting or grinding due to the dimensional inaccuracy for precision machine elements. During the composite machining oper-ations such as cutting and grinding, the temperature at the grinding area may increase beyond the allowed limit due to the low thermal conductivity of composites, which might degrade the matrix of composite. Therefore, in this work, the tem-perature at the grinding point during surface grinding of carbon fiber epoxy composite was measured. The grinding tem-perature and surface roughness were also measured to investigate the surface grinding characteristics of the composites. The experiments were performed both under dry and wet grinding conditions with respect to cutting speed, feed speed, depth of cut and stacking angle. From the experimental investigation, the optimal conditions for the composite surface grinding were suggested.

Since carbon fiber epoxy composite materials have excellent properties for structures due to their high specific strength, high specific modulus, high damping and low thermal expansion, the hollow shafts made of carbon fiber epoxy compos-ites have been widely used for power transmission shafts for motor vehicles, spindles of machine tools, motor base, bear-ing mount for tool up and manufacturing. The molded composite machine elements are not usually accurate enough for mechanical machine elements, which require turning, drilling, cutting and grinding. The experiment are surface grinding of the grinding wheel GC60 to the car-bon fiber epoxy composite specimen with respect to stacking angle [0]_nT, [45]_nT, [90]_nT on the CNC grinding machine. In this paper, the surface grinding characteristics of composite plate, which are surveyed experimentally and analytically with respect to the grinding force, surface roughness and wheel loading according to the variable depth of cut, wheel velocity and table feed rate are investigated.
