        한국인 성인남자의 정상신장크기에 관한 X-선학적 고찰

        In many instances, the change of dimension of kidney provides an important clinical{{{{Right Kidney }}{{Left Kidney }}{{Length (cm) 11.93$\pm$0.75 }}{{Width (cm) 6.22$\pm$0.14 }}{{Legth (cm) 12.32$\pm$0.47 }}{{Width (cm) 6.32$\pm$0.47 }} }} value, and often is decisive to evaluate the diagnosis and treatment of the renal disease. The kidney size was measured on abdominal roentgenograms obtained during intravenous pyelography in 315 normal Korean male. The result obtained are as follows: 1. 2. The right kidney size is smaller than the left one, and mean difference is 0.4cm. 3. In the elder group, it showed little relation between age and kidney size.

        Empty Sella Syndrome

        The enlarged sella was encountered ordinarily as intrasellar lesion such as pituitary tumor or secondary increased intracranial pressure without certain mechanism. 1951 Busch discovered from his extensive autopsy cases that defects or incomplete attachment of diaphragm sella brings sella enlargement either slightly or moderately enlarged sella with subarachnoid extension. Toennis et al in 1955 discussed enlarged sella due to iva infundibular defects or loosely attached stalk area of diaphragm sella from secondary increased intracranial pressure. Du Boulay and others differentiate the entity of none tumor origin of sella enlargement either from raised irtracranial pressure or parasella changes. Hence“empty sella”was loosely used terminology. We observed following three representative cases in various empty sella syndrome. Case 1: air extended into the sella by pneumoencephalogram. Case 2: chiasma recess herniated into the sella secondary to dilated third ventricle from right halamic tumor extension. Case 3: enlarged sella firstly mimic intrasella tumor but found intrasella fluid of cerebro-spinal content of extended subarchnoid space into sella. Above changes readily observed by pneumoencephalogram and other means.

        한국인 청소년의 정상폐용량에 관한 연구

        Determination of the total lung capacity(TLC) has been widely used in the evaluation of the pulmonary function and in its application to clinical medicine. A roentgenographic method for the determination of the total lung capacity of Korean children of all ages has not yet been documented in the literature. This method requires posterioanterior and lateral views of the chest, and consists principally of the summation of a series of elliptical cylindroids into which the lungs are divided. The measurement and calculation of the total lung capacity by the roentgenographic method were carried out on 320 randomly selected normal Korean children, 180 males and 120 females. The following results were obtained: 1. The value of TLC in male was larger than that in female in the same age, height and weight group, the mean difference between male and female being 606 ml. The mean value of TLC in female was 77% of that in male. 2. TLC tended to increase as height increased, the correlation coefficients(r) being 0.86 with standard deviation of$\pm$161 ml in male and $\pm$562 ml in female, and it had an approximation to the value of 1Ht3 in male and 0.8Ht3 in female. 3. The TLD tended to increae slightly as weight increased, the correlation coefficient(r) being 0.78 with standard diviation of $\pm$1061ml in male and $\pm$738 ml in female. 4. Measurement of roentgenogram as regards TLC determination is relatively simple, rapid and accurate.

        Nicotiana tabacum의 葯培養에 關한 硏究

        담배품종 Yellow special A의 약을 개량 RM-1964 배지에 배양하였던바 배양 약 3주일 후에 약의 내부로부터 유식물이 생겨나고 이들은 그후 정상적인 생육을 하여 약 6개월후에 개화되었다. PMC의 M.에서는 24개의 1가염색체를 가진 것이 제일 많고 2가염색체는 PMC당 0.8이었다 The anthers of Yellow Special A, a leading tobacco variety, were cultured on the modified RM-1964 medium. Approximately three weeks after culture, plantlets emerged out of the anthers, and they reached blooming stage in six months. 24 univalent chromosomes were most frequently observed at M1 of PMC. Number of bivalent was 0.8 per PMC.

        棉花의 受精現象과 面毛發生에 關한 硏究

        우리나라에서 재배하고 있는 면화 품종 목포005, Red leaf, Paymaster, Acala 1517w 등에 대하여 수정현상과 면모발생 및 발육에 관해서 비교조사하였다. (1) 화분은 수분 4시간후부터 발아신장하고, 수분 10시간이면 화주의 기부에 달하고 수분 18시간이면 태좌를 거쳐 주공에 진입한다. (2) 화분관이 주공에 진입할때는 1개의 매조세포를 뚫고 들어가기 때문에 수정후에는 1개의 매조세포만 남는다. (3) 수분 18-485시간이면 수정이 전부 완료되는데 목포 005가 빠르고 Paymaster는 늦으며 Red leaf는 그 중간이다. (4) 면모는 표피세포의 분열에 의하여 생긴 낭세포가 신장하는데 개화전부터 시작한다. (5) 면모는 수분후 1시간에 발생수가 가장 많아 약 60-80%이고 4-6시간에 거의 완료되는데 배주의 상부보다 기부에 많고 내측면보다 외측면에 많다. (6) 평균 면모장은 수분 1시간이면 2.7-8.3u m , 수분 4-48시간이 되면 43.8-263.7u m 신장하는데 목포 005, Red leaf는 신장속도가 거의 같고 Paymaster는 늦은 편이다. A study has been made on phenomena of fertilization, hair genesis, and development of such forma of cotton flower as Mok Po 5, Red Leaf, Paymaster, Acala 1517w. 1) The pollen occurs to germinat at 4 hrs after its pollination and reaches the base of style 10 hrs. later, when 18 hrs elapsed, it gets enter at micropyle passes through placenta. 2) There may remain only one synergid as another one is occupied by pollen tube when it enters micropyle. 3) The fertilization completed at 18-48 hrs. after pollination. It was observed that Mok Po5 is the fastest, somewhat slower in Red Leaf and the slowest is the case of Paymaster in its speed. 4) Wool hair is formed by development of daughter cell which is. due to epidermal cell division' it starts its way right before blooming. 5) Wool hair is the most in its number covering about 60-80 within one hour ofter pollination and finishes its forming within 4-6 hours. The number is more abunbant at basal portion of ovule and rather at outer surface than at inner one of it. 6) The average length of wool hair checked at different time limit is as follows. 2.7-8.3~mu m 1 hr after pollination. 43.3-263.7~mu m 24-48 hrs. after pollination. The growth speed both of Mok Po 5 and Red Leaf get nearly same value but Paymaster is somewhat slower in its speed.
