This study aimed to work out strategies for fostering long-lived small and medium-sized enterprises by making theoretical adjustment of longevity factors through literature review, and by drawing their longevity factors according to research on using logistic regression analysis and Survival analysis. According to the hypothesis, the results were verified as follows. First, longer of the founder tenure and the CEO tenure achieved longer survival time. Second, the internal CEO showed longer survival, in comparison with the external CEO. Third, higher concentration of ownership led to longer survival. Fourth, owner-management showed the survival time longer than professional management. Fifth, unchanged ownership achieved longer survival time. Sixth, dual post succession achieved longer survival time. Seventh, family succession influenced long-term sustainabiliy. Among them, 1st son succession also influenced long-term sustainability at some extent. The suggestions for fostering the longevity of small and medium-sized enterprises are as follows. It is required to set a comfortable ecosystem to foster long-lived small and medium-sized enterprises, establish and support research institutes for them, revitalize in-house societies for longevity, prepare for longevity programs in academic-industrial collaboration. As means of developing and supporting the longevity of small and medium-sized enterprises, moreover, it is required to achieve development and support of items for policy funds, urgent preparation for tax systems, development and support of human resources, support for R&D, technical development, preparations for measures for supporting IPOs of small and medium-sized enterprises
