        The disease occurrence rate of the cancer is rapidly increased and It is becommg the mam factor for the death The chemical therapy for preventing the cancer is recently used for many patients and thus extended the life of the patients. However. the side effect caused by the medical substances when performing the chemical therapy for preventing the cancer and the consequent mental and social problem are incurred to detenorate the quality of the life.<br/> Therefore, it is needed to help the pat1ent in order to reduce the above problems and so this study was executed in order to examme the effect of the individual education on the quality of the life of the patients who are treated by the chemical therapy for preventing the cancer.<br/> The study was performed from Jan 19 2004 to Apr 18 2004 for the patients who were firstly treated by the chemical therapy for preventing the cancer in a university hospital located in the downtown in Seoul. <br/> The individual education on the chemical therapy for preventing the cancer was provided to 40 patlents of the expenmental group The study plan is the expenmental plan before and after the sale group, and it is the beginning expenmental plan.<br/> The title of the booklet on the chemical therapy for preventmg the cancer is "Cancer. The more you know, the more you can be cured", and the book was composed up of the side effect of the chemical therapy for preventmg the cancer, treatment way for the side effect, and guide of the daily life.<br/> The survey with the questionnaire sheet was distributed to the expen- mental group before the education, the survey sheet was made out when they were hospitalized for 3-4 weeks after the education, and the data were exammed by using SPSS statistical Proglam with making our the survey questionnalres and the change of the quality of the life before and after the education of the patients who are treated by the chemical therapy for preventing the cancer was analyzed by using the paired t-test.<br/> The research result was venfied that it has the meaningful that the quality of the life for the physical field mental field, soclal field, and spiritual field after the individual education.<br/> The suggestion concluded by the above research result is as follows.<br/> Flrst, there is the limitation to interpret the result since it was the beginning experimental plan for the sole group. Thus, it is suggested that the similar experimental plan should be executed with the expansion of the research subject and also with the contrast group.<br/> Second, it is suggested that the study on the change of the quality of the lifeaccordmg to the support of the individual education and family of the patients who are treated by the anti-cancer therapy.

      • 프리셉터 경험이 간호업무수행과 직무만족에 미치는 영향 연구

        The purpose of this study was to investigate how preceptor experience has an effect upon preceptor nurses. This study was so designed that it could compare the difference between clinical performance and Job satisfaction of preceptor nurses and those of nonpreceptor nurses. Study subjects were sampled out from those nurses who worked with two university hospitals where preceptor programs were implemented. The number of subjects totaled to 134, including 69 preceptor nurses and 70 nonpreceptor nurses. The score of preceptor nurses' clinical performance and job satisfaction revealed a higher value than that of nonpreceptor nurses. A similar result was also shown in the subdomains. However these difference were not statistically significant. Among all of the preceptor nurses, the highest number of preceptor experience was just one time. Except for five times in preceptor experience, the more the number of times of preceptor experience, the higher score in clinical performance. It was manifested that the number of preceptor experience was not related to job satisfaction. The score of preceptor nurses' clinica1 performance and job satisfaction revealed a higher value than that of nonpreceptor nurses. A similar result was also shown in the subdomains. However these difference were not statistically significant. The reward that preceptor nurses wished most was a reduction of the work load assigned to them. Currently preceptor nurses are only receiving a small quantity of financial reward related with their preceptor role. Most of preceptor nurses (96.8%) were not satisfied with their existing reward. Almost half of the preceptor nurses(43.5%) did not want to play a role as preceptor again. The reason why the scores of clinical performance and job satisfaction were low might be attributed to the inadequate preceptor training program and reward system. Appropriate knowledge and clinical skill are expected to enhance the level of preceptor nurses' clinical performance and appropriate internal and external reward to elevate the level of preceptor nurses' Job satisfaction. Therefore, it is needed for us to develop more effective preceptor education program, financial reward, support of colleague nurses and nursing managers, and adjust workload for the purpose of more effective preceptor programs.
