National Health Examination Metabolic Syndrome Item and Health Behavior Analysis

[OBJECTIVES] The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between the habits of physical activities in several intensities, drinking, and smoking of the general public who live in the S city and diabetes, high blood pressure, high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, plasma triglyceride, and waist circumference of them. [METHODS] For research, residents of 2,438,370 in S city were selected by using the big data of health checkups sheets that were conducted by the National Health Insurance Corporation in 2017. Physical activities were classified into three groups by intensity. The part of drinking was divided into three groups of non-alcohol, low, and high-drinking people. There were four groups in smoking of non-smoking, the group that smoke lower than the half pack of cigarettes per day, the half to one pack, and more than one pack. Metabolic syndrome frequency analysis and logistic regression analysis were used for this research. [RESULTS] Compared to the low-intensity physical activity group, the high-intensity group had 0.992, 0.954, 0.871, 0.83, and 0.878 times of lower risk in fasting plasma glucose, blood pressure, high density lipoprotein (HDL-C), plasma triglycerides, and abnormal waist circumference. High drinking group had more risk of fasting plasma glucose, blood pressure, HDL-C, plasma triglyceride, and abnormal waist circumference by 1.326, 1.894, 1.334, 2.125 and 1.263 times than non-drinking group. The group who smoked more than one pack a day had more risk of fasting plasma glucose, blood pressure, HDL-C, plasma triglyceride, and abnormal waist circumference by 1.971, 1.225, 3.229, 2.871, and 1.522 times than the group of non-smoking. [CONCLUSION] The subjects who did not have risk factors for metabolic syndrome were 29.7%. The average of patients with metabolic syndrome was 25.2%, of which males were 30.3%, and females were 20.1% of them. Metabolic syndrome factors were proved statistically valid. In the physical activity group, the high-intensity physical activity group had a lower risk of metabolic syndrome factors than the low and medium-intensity physical activity groups. The high-drinking group had a higher risk of metabolic syndrome in triglycerides, and the smoking group who smoked more than one pack per day had a higher risk of metabolic syndrome in high-density lipoprotein cholesterol.
PET/Cotton MVS 직물의 혼용률에 따른 드레이프성과 역학특성

드레이프성이란 직물이 자중에 의하여 아래로 처져서 주름이 발생하는 상태를 말하며, 드레이프의 형상은 의복에 따라 시각적 변형을 가져오게 하는데 관련된 성질로 제품의 착용감과 태에 밀접하게 관계되는 특성이다. 드레이프성을 평가하는 기술은 Cusick이 개발한 Cusick Drape Tester를 이용하여 드레이프 계수를 측정하고, 널리 보급되어있다. 하지만 장비를 사용한 수작업에 의한 정성적인 평가가 주로 이용되어 왔기에 본 연구에서는 화상입력장치를 활용하여 드레이프의 형상 인자 평가를 통한 정량적인 평가방법을 활용하여 실험을 진행했다. 실험에 사용한 시료의 특징으로는 MVS(Murata Vortex Spinning)방적사를 이용하여 혼용률을 달리하여 직물을 제직하여 진행했는데, MVS방적사는 가연을 통해 코어(Core)에는 꼬임이 없고 코어를 둘러싸고 있는 래핑(Wrapping)섬유의 꼬임에 의해 결속되어 있는 결속사의 형태를 가진다. MVS 방적사는 구조적으로 섬유전체가 회전하는 것이 아니라 내부섬유는 평행하고 래핑섬유는 회전하여 래핑섬유의 꼬임에 의해 결속 되어 있기 때문에 물성 특성에 영향을 미친다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 MVS방적사로 제직한 폴리에스터와 면 혼방 직물의 혼용률에 따른 역학적 특성과 이에 따른 기능특성치와 드레이프성과의 상관관계를 알아보았다.

Sensors that detect resistance changes are generally representative of pressure sensors, and piezo-resistive sensors haverecently been studied in various ways to recognize various changing environments. Our research used thermoplastic polyurethane(TPU) as a raw material to create a 3D-printed auxetic lattice structure. Here, the truss and honeycomb structures withpositive Poisson’s ratios for regular lattice structures, chiral truss and re-entrant structures with negative Poisson’s ratios forauxetic lattice structures, were studied and characterized. By coating graphene, each structure is designed to detect a changein resistance. The auxetic structures manufactured have excellent strength and detect electrical conductivity, allowing themto be used as piezo-resistive sensors with constant resistance changes at given compression. Castor-oil-based waterbornepolyurethane (CWPU)/graphene-coated auxetic sensors suggest potential applications for multifunction piezo-resistive sensorsunder compressed deformation.

For isolation of human embryonic stem cells (hESCs) from a heterogeneous population, magnetic activated cell sorting (MACS) and fluorescence activated cell sorting (FACS) are commonly used. In general, hESCs are cultured as cell colonies. Because that single cell suspension is prerequisite for the cell sorting, the single hESCs show low recovery and survival rates in the culture after sorting. In this review, we report that how the low recovery and survival rates of the sorted single hESCs could be improved, and the usefulness of the cell sorting using FACS in stem cell-based therapies and in the field of regenerative medicine.
