        발생중인 흰쥐 망막의 분화 및 Acetylcholinesterase 활성에 관한 연구

        The present study was carried out to investigate the processes of the ultrastructural differentiation and the acetylcholinesterase (AChE) activities of the developing rat retina. The results are as follows. The retina of fetal rat on the 13th day of gestation showed the early stage of differentiation. Briefly, there appeared dividing chromosomes, the plentiful free ribosomes, and the high ratio of nucleus to cytoplasm. The reaction products by AChE were localized at the membrane of endoplasmic reticulum and on the outer membrane of nucleus. Ultrastructures and AChE activities in the retina of the fetal rats on the 18th day of gestation were similar to those of the prior stages, except the appearence of rough endoplasmic reticulum and Golgi apparatus. According to the ultrastructural observations, the rat retina was still in immature state at birth, but the pigment epithelial cells were fully differentiated, e. g. the increase of melanin granules, the development of mitochondria and Golgi apparatus. The AChE activity was weekly detected. The differentiated retinal layers and the outer segment of photoreceptor cells were observed on the 7th postnatal day. And the pigment epithelium appeared to be fully differentiated. On the 14th postnatal day, rat retina were completely differentiated. In other words, the rat retina was characterized by the prominent outer segments, phagocytosed residues in the pigment epithelium, and the localization of reaction products by AChE in the synapses. In conclusion, the differentiation of rat retina is charaterized by the changes of cell shape, the increase of retinal layers, and the alterations of AChE activities. It seems that rat retina is to be functional from 2 weeks of birth onward, coinciding with the eye opening of the juvenile rats.

        연성 콘택트렌즈의 단백질 흡착 양과 눈의 건강과의 관계

        연성 장기 착용 콘택트 렌즈와 정기 교체용 콘택트 렌즈의 단백질 흡착 양에 대해 조사하였다. 대상과 방법: 연성 장기 착용 콘택트 렌즈에서 연성 정기 교체용 콘택트 렌즈로 교체 착용한 60명 120안을 대상으로 하였다. 장기 착용 콘택트 렌즈를 6개월 이상 착용한 렌즈 착용자와 정기 교체용 렌즈를 착용한 대상자를 수집하였다. 전체 대상자의 착용하고 있던 장기 착용 콘택트렌즈의 평균 도수는 -4.46D (-1.00~-9.00D) 였다. 정기 교체용 렌즈로 교체 전 후의 환자의 만족도와 안과 검사를 실시하였다. 단백질 흡착 양은 단백질 정량분석기를 이용하여 각각의 렌즈에서 단백질 흡착 양을 분석하였다. 결과 : 장기 착용 소프트 콘택트 렌즈에서 정기 교체용 렌즈로 전환 후에 깨끗함, 편안함과 눈의 건강을 포함한 모든 부분에서 환자의 만족도가 향상되었다. 안과 검사에서는 특히 구결막과 검결막이 충혈 부분에서 호전된 결과를 보였다. 콘택트 렌즈에 흡착된 단백질 양은 기존의 렌즈와 정기 교체용 렌즈에서 각각 평균 0.08 mg/ml와 0.03 mg/ml를 나타냈다. 결론: 장기 착용 렌즈에서 정기 교체용 렌즈로 교체 후 렌즈에 흡착된 단백질 량, 환자의 만족도와 각막의 상태에서 향상된 결과를 보였다. Purpose: We investigated the relationship between protein deposit and ocular health in both soft traditional contact lens and soft serial contact lens. Methods: We evaluated the clinical performance after switching from soft traditional lens to soft serial contact lens for the 120 eyes from 60 patients. Mean power of total tradithional contact lens wearers was -4.46D (-1.00~-9.00D). We examined the patients satisfaction and comeal status using slit lamp after seitching from soft traditional lcns to soft serial contact Iens. Protein deposit was analyzed the absorption amounts of contact lens in each lens using protein quantitative analysis. Results: Patients preferred serial contact lens over their own traditioanl lenses in all performance attributes, including comfort, clean feeling, and eye health. Ocular health conditions showed improvement in comeal limbal injection and bulbar injection. Protcin deposit amounts of traditional lens and serial contact lens were 0.08 mg/ml and 0.03 mg/ml, respectively. Conclusion: Protein deposit, patients satisfaction and comenal status was improved afeter after switching from traditional contact lenses to serial contact lens.

      • 해산어와 담수어 신장의 미세구조 비교

        This study was carried out to examine the ultrastructural differences of the kidneys of a marine fish and a freshwater fish by light and electron microscopes. In the case of Carassius carassius, the kidney is characterized by numerous glomeruli. Renal tubule cells are columnar type and their organelles are fully differentiated. In the case of Ditrema temmincki glomeruli and Bowman's capsules are separated each other in the distribution. Renal tubule cells bear short or long microvilli toward the lumen. Invaginations of the cytoplasm at the tubular base are seen and mitochondria are well developed in terms of cristae. There are congested blood cells, particularly nucleated red blood cells, in the kidney of Sebastes inermis, so it is suggested that the organ is related with the hematopoietic function. In conclusion, ultrastructures of the kidneys have been adapted for the marine or freshwater environments.

      • 개불(Ureshis unicinctus) 受精卵의 卵割類型과 形態形成에 關한 硏究

        The present study was carried out to examine the early embryogenesis of Urechis unicinctus in terms of its cleavage pattern and morphogenesis. The first sign of fertilization was the appearance of fertilization membrane, which was 20㎛ in maximum thickness. The cleavage pattern was equal holoblastic in early stage and partial unequal cleavage in later stage. There appeared the cavity in blastula, and then cilia which were derived from the peripheral blastomeres, activated the motility of the larva. Ultrastructures of cleaving zygote included microvilli on free cell surface, numerous nuclear pores of nucleus, well developed rough endoplasmic reticulum, Golgi complex and mitochondria in the cytoplasm. In addition, yolk granules and vesicles were also distributed in the cytoplasm. Cytokinesis was followed by the karyokinesis, through the formation of the cleavage furrow. Morphogenesis of Urechis unicinctus is summarized by the serial equal holoblastic cleavages, the cell movements, and the formations of a blastocoel and cilia.
