Motion planning of multiple mobile robots is one of the challenging problems in robotics. In this paper, we present a dynamic path planning algorithm for multiple mobile robots using D* Lite algorithm. A native approach of path planning for multiple robots is to assign of priorities to individual robot and to move the robots in a sequential way based on the priorities. While these methods are very convenient, it may cause congestions when many robots need to go through narrow passage. Moreover, deciding priorities would be problematic when the number of robots is very large. The key idea of our approach is to generate detour path in an optimal way. In the first path planning step, each robot computes its optimal path using D* Lite, without any consideration of the paths of the other robots. When each robot moves to follow its own trajectory, some robots may collide with other. In this case, the robots that are involved in collision generate detour path using D* Lite algorithm which is known for finding detour path optimally. Then, by considering the total distance of all the robots, it is determined which robot takes detour and which robot takes the original path. Our approach can find a solution that minimizes the overall path length. The proposed dynamic path planning algorithm is validated by simulation experiments.

In this paper, we present self-localization for a small mobile robot’s self-localization using characteristics of magnetic landmarks. In previous our research, it was possible to localize a mobile robot in the global manner correctly on the surface of structured environment with magnetic landmarks. Still, this localization method could be used when the robot placed on the magnetic landmark. Therefore, we integrate landmark center estimation method using coordinates of magnetic territory’s enter points, landmark center estimation method using neutral magnetic valley and global localization method into one algorithm. To validate integrated self-localization algorithm by mobile robot applied experiments. Experimental results show that the mobile robot which located on arbitrary position with no prior knowledge of it’5 own pose information can find its location in the test bed using characteristics of Magnetic Landmarks.

In this paper we present a new Data-Glove of exoskeleton type that can carry out the position/force-based control by the data communication. The Data-Glove is designed based on the skeletal structure of the human hand, and finger module has 1 DOF by utilizing three four-bar mechanism joints in series and wire coupling mechanism. Also, the transmission ratio of finger module is kept 1:1.4:1 in the whole movement range, and it can perform motions in both extension and flexion. In addition, to realize the adduction/abduction motion of human hand, unique MCP joint is designed by using two universal joints. All the driving circuits and sensors are integrated to the Data-Glove, and the robot hand with link-gear mechanism is developed for evaluation. To validate the feasibility of the Data-Glove, master-slave control experiments based on force-position control between the Data-Glove and robot hand are conducted.

In this paper, we present a new exoskeleton-type data glove that can sense the movement of the human finger and reflect the force to the finger The data glove is designed on the basis of the skeletal structure of the human hand, and the finger module has 1 degree-of-freedom because it includes three four-bar mechanism joints in series and a wire-coupling mechanism.
