‘Cheongja5’ is a black seed coat soybean cultivar developed from crossing ‘Milyang181’ and ‘YS1886 (Cheongdu1/Tanbaguro)’ in 2007. Promising lines were selected using the pedigree method from F3 to F5. The preliminary and advanced yield trials were conducted in 2013 and 2014, respectively. Regional yield trials (RYT) were conducted in seven regions from 2015 to 2017. ‘Cheongja5’ has a determinate growth habit, oval leaflet shape, brown pubescence, and white flowers. The seed of ‘Cheongja5’ has a black seed coat color with green cotyledon. Flowering and maturing dates were Aug. 3 and Oct. 24, respectively. Regarding the quantitative characteristics, ‘Cheongja5’ has large seed size (37.0 g/100-seed weight) and more pods than ‘Cheongja3’. ‘Cheongja5’ was tolerant to pod shattering in field and indoor RYT tests. ‘Cheongja5’ was resistant to bacterial pustule in the field and soybean mosaic virus (strains G6H and G7H) in the inoculation test. Although its seed quality-related characteristics were almost similar to those of ‘Cheongja3’, it contained more anthocyanin which is a main functional component of black soybean. The mean yield of ‘Cheongja5’ in the RYTs was 343 kg/10 a which was 30% higher than that of ‘Cheongja3’. ‘Cheongja5’ is expected to be widely cultivated as a material for making soy-food that uses black soybean because of its large seed size and high yield potential (Registration No. 7687).

Among calves` diseases, digestive diseases most frequently occur in Korea, and especially viral diarrhea is one of the most important diseases. This study was conducted to get some basic information for the control of the viral diarrhea in calves. The samples were obtained from 319 calves with clinical diarrhea from 195 farms in Gyeongnam south area (Gosung, Tongyung, Hadong) from June 2005 to August 2006. Viral detection was examined by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Etiological viruses were detected from 171(53.6%) of 319 calves, and bovine rotavirus (BRV) were 130 (40.8%) and bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) 41 (12.9%), and no coronavirus was confirmed. Statistical difference was found in BRV detection between summer (32.6%) and winter (57.7%). However there was no seasonal difference in BVDV. In detection rate of the calves under 19days, BRV was highest (55.1%), but BVDV lowest (5.1%). No big difference was in rate among herd size. However, BRV was lowest (26.8%) in the group over 51 heads, but BVDV was highest (19.5%) in the same.

The present study was conducted to investigate the epidemiological characteristics such as isolation rate and antimicrobial drug susceptibility of etiological agents. The specimens (stool or intestine) were collected from 319 calves with clinical diarrhea from 195 farms in Gyeongnam south area (Gosung, Tongyung, Hadong) from June 2005 to August 2006. The isolation rate of Salmonella spp was higher in summer (8.4%) than in winter (4.8%) and the average was 7.2% (23/319 head). Some of Salmonella spp isolated were resistant to penicillin, oxytetracycline, tetracycline, and cephalexin (>90%), but some of them were suscep-tible to norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim and amikacin(>30%). There was no statistical difference in the isolation rate of Eimeria spp between summer(48.9%) and winter(42.3%). For the evaluation of infection level of Eimeria spp oocyst per gram of feces(OPG) was examined, and severe, moderate and light infection level were 11.9%, 12.5% and 22.3%, respectively. In the isolation rates of Eimeria spp the calves under 19 days was lowerthan those over 60 days, but there was not different among herd size.

It has been reported several viral diseases in soybean. The occurrence of Bean common mosaic virus and Peanut stunt virus are able to induce severe problem because the main breeding target for viral disease was focused on Soybean mosaic virus. BCMV is a spcies of the genus Potyvirus of the family Potyviridae. BCMV reduces yield by as much as 80% and also adversely affects seed quality in common bean. BCMV has a worldwide distribution because of its high rates 35% of transmission via seeds produced by plants systemically infected prior to bloom. PSV is a species of the genus Cucumovirus of the family Bromoviridae. PSV has been reported to be economically damaging on beans worldwide. Although the virus is reportedly seed transmissible at very low rates, infected plants rarely produce pods with normal viable seeds. The most satisfactory management method of viral diseases such as BCMV and PSV is the use of resistant cultivars and healthy seed. For the overcome of genetic resistance by new virus such as BCMV and PSV, virus diseases monitoring and researches need to study deeply and continually. In this study, we conducted the resistance screen on BCMV and PSV for selection of resistance cultivars. We inoculated on 128 cultivars with PSV and BCMV respectively. These cultivars were classified through pathogenic response such as resistance, necrosis and susceptibility. In addition, 99 and 66 resistant cultivars were confirmed against PSV and BCMV respectively.

Soybean yellow common mosaic virus (SYCMV) has been recently reported, it has been occurred a lot with Soybean mosaic virus (SMV) and Soybean yellow mottle mosaic virus (SYMMV) in soybean field. SYCMV belongs to genus of Sobemovirus and induced viral symptoms with yellowing, mottle and mosaic. A reverse transcription loop-mediated isothermal amplification (RT-LAMP) method allowed one-step detection of gene amplification by simple procedure and needed only a simple incubator for isothermal template. This RT-LAMP method allowed direct detection of RNA from virus-infected plants without thermal cycling and gel electrophoresis. In this study, we designed RT-LAMP primers named SYCML-F3/B3/FIP/BIP from coat protein gene sequence of SYCMV. After the reaction of RTLAMP, products were identified by electrophoresis and with the detective fluorescent dye, SYBR Green I. under daylight and UV light. Optimal reaction condition was at 63 for 60min and the primers of RTLAMP showed the specificity for only SYCMV tested in this study.
