The aim of this study was to explore the ethical difficulties experienced by emergency department nurses in hospital settings. Data were collected using in-depth interviews with a purposive sample of 12 nurses working in emergency department. The interviews were transcribed and analyzed using inductive thematic analysis to identify ethical difficulties. Four themes were emerged from the qualitative data: difficulty of advocacy for patients’ good, ethical disagreement, ethical immaturity, and ethical stress. This study will provide a theoretical basis for developing ethical guidelines that enable emergency room nurses to make decision ethically.

Purpose This study explores the Korean nurses’ experience of preparing for and taking the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) in order to provide a deeper understanding of their experiences. Method The study utilizes the qualitative research method, Colaizzi’s phenomenological methodology. Twenty-six Korean nurses were interviewed using semi-structured research questions and their interviews were analyzed. Results Seven clusters of themes emerged: (a) motivation; (b) flow in studying, (c) expansion of nursing knowledge for nursing practice; (d) reflections of nursing practice and attitude toward themselves; (e) time management struggles; (f) increased self-confidence and self-esteem; (g) setting a new life direction and new challenges. In general, our analyses demonstrated that the nurses’ experiences of preparing for and taking the NCLEX-RN showed positive impacts on the nurses, psychologically, intellectually and interpersonally. Conclusion The results suggest that developing NCLEX-RN preparation programs is needed to promote global capabilities for nurses and nursing students. Further studies on the effect of exposure to the NCLEX-RN exam while nursing school for nurses is recommended. N/A The purpose of this phenomenological case study is to describe how the religiosity emerges from the delusional thoughts of 24 psychiatric patients and to explore its meaning in their life. This suggests conceptual framework on religiosity through the literature reviews centered around Eliade, Otto, and Tillich. The suggested conceptual framework of this study consists of four Desires: Desire to become the center of the world, Desire to fulfil1 spiritual(or the greatest) power, Desire to be above himself/herself, and Desire to express himself/herself.Here, the data about the delusional thoughts of psychiatric patients is analyzed by the two desires, desire to become the center of the world and desire to fulfill spiritual(or the greatest) power because delusion are not behavior, but thought. desire to be above himself/herself and desire to express himself/herself are expressed by the behavior rather than thought itself in psychiatric patients` life. The result of this study is that the religiosity of psychiatric patients is not different from that of the so called Normal persons. So when taking care of the psychiatric patients, the nurse must consider psychiatric patients` delusions as not meaningless, but as meaningful. So the nurse can expand his or her understanding about Psychiatric patients` delusion regarding religiosity. Therefore this understanding will help the nurse to take good care of their patients.

Purpose: This study was done to explore life stress and coping skills of boarding high school students. Methods: Triangulation (quantitative and qualitative) research method was used through three stages. First, 47 high school students were interviewed to identify life stressors. Second, 208 students were surveyed via internet questionnaires to assess stress level for each stressor. Lastly, in order to survey stress coping skills, 61 students answered 10 subjective questions orally or in writing. Results: Thirty-seven life stressors in five categories were identified through thematic content analysis of the interviews: dormitory life, appearance and self management, human relations, study, and other areas. Stresses from schoolwork were highest and participants also experienced stress from their dormitory life. The overall stress level was higher in girls than in boys, and students in their 2nd year perceived their stress as higher than those in other grades. Various stress coping skills were being used, and positive coping skills were commonly used. Conclusion: To improve quality of life of boarding high school students, various strategies are needed to reduce their life stress. Especially, girls are in need of special concern and care because of their vulnerability to stress.
