Active Front Steering enhances vehicle performance by making optimal road wheel angle based on vehicle state information. This information includes steering wheel angle, vehicle speed, lateral acceleration and yaw rate. To generate optimized road wheel angle under various vehicle maneuver, several mechanisms are studied and developed by steering suppliers in the world and these mechanisms are commercialized by car makers. Linkage mechanism, harmonic gear, planetary gears are widely referred mechanism. Among them planetary mechanism is most commonly known actuator. In this paper planetary gear system is analyzed using dynamic simulation model and requirement in choosing appropriate electric motor is described.

It is important to determine the positions of the hard points that can generate a desired kinematic characteristic in suspension design. To do such a thing, kinematic sensitivity and optimization were conducted. The cost function is total weighted sum of errors between desired and actual toe, camber, caster, kingpin angle, etc. Kinematic sensitivity was calculated for design variables such as hard points and these results were compared with finite difference method. Optimization was executed by BFGS method . And GUI program that makes this process handled easily was developed for McPherson, SLA, QT, Quadra-link.<br/>

CAE 기법을 통해 EPS의 EMC CE 해석을 하는 방법을 소개하고 시제품 제작 전 실제 제품과의 Correlation 할 수 없는 경우 해석의 유효성 확보를 위해 해석 모델 표준화 방법에 대해서 소개한다. It introduces how to perform EMC CE analysis of EPS through CAE techniques and how to standardize the analysis model to ensure the validity of the analysis when it cannot be correlated with the actual product before prototyping.

Redundant steering is a key technology for automated driving. The Electric Power Steering(EPS) system with fail-operational function enables either a driver or auto pilot system to make a safe stop in the rare case of a single failure. Mando developed a dual invertor system equipped with one actuator as the redundant steering system. In the case of single inverter, only 3 bus bars are needed. But the actuator needs 6 bus bars to connect the dual invertor. This means that when designing system, not only the distance from bus bar to magnetically sensitive Integrated Circuit (IC) but also the arrangement of bus bars are taken in account. In this paper, the optimized arrangement of 6 bus bars is proposed through static magnetic analysis to minimize the influence of the magnetic-sensitive IC Motor Position Sensor(MPS)bus. Frist define the design process, then analyze the magnetic field distribution based on the bus bar array combination table.
