Using dispersants is known to be an effective solution to accelerate the natural dispersion and being an appropriate oil spill response strategy. By breaking up large oil chunks into small droplets, dispersants are generally intended to help reducing further oil exposures and slicks. Collecting property data of circulating crude oil in South Korea and understanding the interaction between crude oils and dispersions need to be preceded for the effective dispersant use. This paper provides an property analysis of three selected oils which have the same composition of spilt oils from the Herbei Spirit Incident and conducts an emulsification and toxicity experiment with selected domestic and foreign dispersants. Results will present a direction of future domestic dispersants`` development which aimed at eco-friendly and safety.
진공 플라즈마 스프레이 공정을 이용한 W계 복합 코팅층의 제조 및 특성 연구

W-ZrC and W-HfC composite powders were fabricated by the Plasma Alloying & Spheroidization (PAS) method and the powders were sprayed into hybrid coating layers by using Low Vacuum Plasma Spray (LVPS) process, respectively. Microstructure, mechanical properties, and ablation characteristics of the fabricated coating layers were investigated. The LVPS process led to successful production of W-Carbide hybrid coatings, approximately 400 ${\mu}M$ or above in thickness. As the substrate preheating temperature increased from $870^{\circ}C$ to $917^{\circ}C$, the hardness of the W-ZrC coating layer increased due to decreased porosity. Vickers hardness showed higher value (about 108.4 HV) in W-ZrC hybrid coating material compared to that of W-HfC while adhesive strength was found to be similar in both coating layers. The plasma torch test revealed good ablation resistance of the W-Carbide hybrid coating layers. The relatively high performance W-ZrC coating layer at the elevated temperature is thought to be attributed to both the strengthening effect of ZrC particle remained in the layer and the formation of ZrO2 phase with high temperature stability.

Stem and petiole rot symptoms of Valeriana fauriei occurred sporadically in the herb exhibition field in Gyeongsangnam-do Agricultural Research and Extension Services, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam Province in Korea. The typical symptom is water-soaking on the stem, rotting, wilting, blighting and the infected plants eventually died. White mycelial mats spreaded over lesions, and then sclerotia were formed on the infected plant parts and near soil surface line. On the basis of mycological characteristics and pathogenicity to host plants, this fungus was identified as Sclerotium rolfsii. This is the first report of stem rot on Valeriana fauriei caused by Sclerotium rolfsii in Korea.

Lyocell fibers were used as a precursor in order to improve yield and strength of cellulose-based precursor while manufacturing activated carbon fiber(ACF). Lyocell fibers as a precursor for the preparation of ACF were surface-modified by reaction with 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane(APTES) and pre-treated with KOH and H3PO4. Using aforementioned precursor, ACFs were prepared by a series of stabilization, carbonization and activation process at high temperatures. On each process, FT-IR, TGA, UTM and SEM were used to observe fibers`` physical properties including structure and porous surfaces. FT-IR results proved that surface modification was achieved during stabilization, carbonization and activation process. TGA results during carbonization process found that surface modified fibers with APTES 0.02 mol(A2) showed higher thermostability, and extended pre-treatment increased yield. Especially, yield was found to have an increase of 10~20 wt% with surface modification during activation process. UTM results showed that tensile strength has the same order of concentration of APTES after surface modification, however, was found to show lower tensile strength than lyocell fibers after stabilization process. SEM results revealed that more homogeneous porosity control could be proceed after modifying the surface for the effective removal of hazardous substances.

합성곱신경망(Convolutional Neural Network, CNN)은 이미지 분류와 같은 컴퓨터 비전 문제에서 효과적인 딥러닝 모델이다. 본 연구는 벼 품종별 이미지 분류를 위해 합성곱신경망을 활용하였다. 분류에 사용된 벼 품종은 영호진미, 영진, 아람, 새일미이며, 각 품종당 7 반복으로 총 28개 시험구를 조성하여 2022년 6월 7일에 이앙하였다. 벼의 생육이미지는 다중분광센서(Red-Edge MX)를 장착한 드론을 지상 20m에서 경로비행 하도록 설정하여 8월 18일에 수집하였으며, 지상표식을 기준으로 계산한 GSD(Ground Sample Distance)는 13.8mm였다. 합성곱신경망에 수집된 이미지를 입력하기 위해 시험구 조성 도면과 정사이미지(Orthographic images)를 대응시켜 36×36pixel2 크기로 관심영역(Region of Interests)을 추출하고, 이미지의 밝기를 0~1,023 사이의 값으로 정규화 한 뒤 오츠의 기법(Otsu’s method)을 사용하여 논의 토양 영역을 검은색(채널별 밝기값 : 0, 0, 0, 0, 0)으로 처리하였다. 최종적으로 사용된 데이터세트는 5채널(Red, Green, Blue, Red-Edge, NIR) 이미지 1,008장과 각 이미지에 대한 품종별 라벨로 구성하고 학습데이터와 시험데이터를 8:2로 나누었다. 합성곱신경망은 3개의 은닉층(Hidden layer)과 1개의 전결합층(Fully connected Layer)으로 구성하고 활성화 함수로는 렐루(relu)와 소프트맥스(softmax)를 사용하였다. 학습 시의 정확도는 100%이며 시험데이터로 8회 검증한 결과, 정확도의 평균값은 77.4%로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 데이터세트를 효율적으로 제작하기 위하여 시험구 도면 정보를 기반으로 관심영역을 일괄적으로 추출하였다. 하지만 이로 인해, 관심영역이 아닌 곳에 재식된 벼의 일부가 관심영역에 포함되거나 포함되지 않은 경우가 혼재하여 시험 성능에 영향을 미친 것으로 추측된다. 향후 벼의 중심점을 기준으로 관심영역을 한정하여 데이터세트의 품질을 개선할 계획이다.
