Centralized European distribution has become a very effective way for most of the companies to serve the European Market. The majority of the firms have organized their distribution in Europe centrally. In this regrad, developed into a modern, integrated logistic centres. major European ports have For example, the Port of Rotterdam offers every facility and service to companies operating in the field of distribution: a central, strategic location in Europe, perfect hinterland connections and sites close to the transshipment terminals. In this way the entire European market can be served from one central point. And increasingly, as a third-party logistics providers, they offer logistics excellency on top of warehousing, value added services and distribution. The study clearly illustrates the importance of both distribution centers and value added logistics for the design of hub port in Korea.
Empirical Analysis of Shipper Requirement for E-logistics : The Case of International Shipping

Information technology has been transforming the relationship between shippers and carriers, but an unresolved question remains: what is the relative importance to shippers of service versus cost benefits of e-logistics solutions? This research develops and empirically tests a model to determine how Internet-based logistical operations in international shipping impact on the relative importance of cost versus service benefits to shippers. Contrary to expectations, results show that shippers perceived cost benefits from well-designed web sites, undoubtedly a consequence of perceptions that multi-function portals with ease of access contributed to savings in time and money. Another result was the confirmation of the positive effects of cargo tracing and bill of lading issuance on service-related factors. Finally, this study draws attention to the need for improvements in on-line booking capabilities and development of a comprehensive common portal; issues that must be addressed for shipping lines to succeed in an increasingly competitive e-logistics market.

This paper presents an exploratory study to define the strategic approaches available to the shippers in their attempt to rationalize their logistics outsourcing. In this article some necessities with regard to the logistics information systems in outsourcing are clarified. A strategy model for the implementation of the logistics information in logistics outsourcing is presented and some of the benefits derived from the logistics outsourcing are discussed.

The opening of Pyungtaek Port and the industrial complex are of particular importance to logistics managers dealing with China and Asian markets. This paper examines the policy recommendations for the Pyungtaek Port from a centralizaion of international logistics perspective. This article also reports the findings of a study that investigated how shippers evaluate Pyungtaek Port. The research should be of interest to central and local government who can use the findings to develop future strategies of Pyungtaek Port. For the warehouses and shippers, this information can be used in developing competitive logistics strategies

WSN 의 활용 분야 중 하나로 표준화 된 IEEE 802.15.4 WBAN(wireless body area networks)은 웨 어러블 디바이스의 무선 통신환경을 고려한 기술이다. WBAN 은 높은 밀집도를 가지는 특징을 가지며, 이로 인하여 데이터 충돌이 큰 이슈가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 WBAN 의 표준에서 제시한 메시지 우선순위를 백오프 알고리즘에 적용하여 WBAN 환경에 더 효율적인 전송을 제공하는 것을 목표로 한다.

This research explores the introduction of small containers(8 and 12 feet type) as a means for improving the performance of a intermodal system. Shipment unitization through containers is one form of generic strategy of multimodal transportation. However, the introduction of small containers deserves further attention in view of the increased volume of transport demand and the diversification of shippers' needs. This paper focuses on optimum size of small containers when shippers can choose to use as a intermodal transport equipment. The study analyzes the liability system under a small container transport or participating bodies, using actual transport situation. Key factors studied include the network design issues(as a model) and the required facilities in a small container system.
