Objectives : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of Taegye(KI3) acupuncture and acupuncture with twirling method on the blood pressure, cardiomegalic index, plasma levels of renin and atrial natriuretic peptide in hypertensive RAT induced by two kidney one clip (2K1C). Methods : This study was conducted on one control group and four experimental groups. Control group that had no treatment, Tail group that took tail acupuncture, K-0 group that took KI3 acupuncture, K-6 group that took KI3 acupuncture with 6 turns of twirling method, K-9 group that took KI3 acupuncture with 9 turns of twirling method.Results : Blood pressure was decreased significantly after KI3 acupuncture. Cardiomegalic index decreased significantly after KI3 acupuncture. Plasma levels of renin was decreased significantly after KI3 acupuncture and acupuncture with 9 turns of twirling method Ⅳ. Plasma levels of atrial natriuretic peptide was increased significantly after KI3 acupuncture. Conclusions : These results suggest that blood pressure was decreased significantly after KI3 acupuncture in hypertensive RAT induced by two kidney one clip (2K1C).
급성기 족관절 염좌 환자에 대한 患側取穴과 健側取穴의 치료 효과 비교 연구

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to compare the effects of the acupuncture at affected limb and unaffected limb on treating ankle sprain of acute stage. Methods : From October 1st, 2007 to March 23rd, 2008, the 60 patients who had visited Dongshin mok- dong oriental medical hospital and Gwangju oriental medical hospital, Dongshin university with acute ankle sprain were divided into 2 groups ; one group took acupuncture at affected limb, and the other group took acupuncture at unaffected limb. To evaluating the efficiency of each treatment, Visual Analog Scale(VAS) and Ankle-Hindfoot Scale(AHS) were applied before treatment and after 3rd treatment. Results : As a result of evaluating by using VAS, the score of acupuncture at unaffected limb was marked lower than the score of acupuncture at affected limb. As a result of evaluating by using AHS, the score comparison between the two groups had no significance after treatment. Conclusions : Acupuncture at unaffected limb is more effective than acupuncture at affected limb on treating ankle sprain of acute stage.

To develop a new potential scaffold, biocomposite nanofibrous membranes composed of poly(vinyl acetate)(PVAc)/polysaccharide were prepared using an electrospinning process. The resulting nanofibrous membranes exhibited a fully interconnected pore structure and their average diameter was influenced by a change of conductivity and viscosity of the electrospinning solutions due to the addition of polysaccharides. According to the X-ray diffraction (XRD) results, the crystalline phase of PVAc was hardly affected by the addition of polysaccharides. However, the mechanical properties were markedly changed by the addition of polysaccharides. In addition, the water contact angle and zeta potential were slightly affected by the use of polysaccharides. Cytocompatibility results showed that cell attachment improved by the addition of chitosan, while cell proliferation enormously increased by blending pullulan. Therefore, PVAc/polysaccharide biocomposite nanofibrous membranes appear to be promising biomaterials for tissue engineering.
Synthesis and photophysical properties of porphyrin photosensitizer for efficient cell penetration

광역학치료(Photodynamic Therapy)는 환부에 특이적으로 작용하는 광민감제 (Photosen- sitizer)를 사용하며 특정파장의 빛으로 제어되는 차세대 치료기술이다. 그러나 현재 사용되고 있는 광민감제는 환부 조직에 침투되는 특성이 낮고, 소수성이 강해 혈액 내 순환에 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 친수성 개선과 세포막 투과성을 증진시키기 위한 최적의 포르피린(P) 유도체 개발을 위해, 포르피린 분자 양쪽에 친수성 치환기인 triethylene glycol (T) 및 소수성 치환기인 alkyl dendron (A)을 가지는 TPT, TPA, APA를 각각 합성하였다. 그리고 각 치환기의 종류에 따른 구조분석, 흡/발광 특성, 활성산소 생성능력을 분석하고, 나아가 유방암 세포(MCF-7)를 이용한 독성실험 및 피부투과성에 관한 평가를 수행하였다.

광역학치료(Photodynamic Therapy)는 환부에 특이적으로 작용하는 광민감제(Photosen- sitizer)를 사용하며 특정파장의 빛으로 제어되는 차세대 치료기술이다. 그러나 현재 사용되고 있는 광민감제는 환부 조직에 침투되는 특성이 낮고, 소수성이 강해 혈액 내 순환에 문제가 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 친수성 개선과 세포막 투과성을 향상시키기 위해 포르피린(Tetraphenylporphyrin)에 친수성 및 소수성 덴드론 치환기를 동시에 부착하였다. 그뿐만 아니라 이를 클로린유도체(Chlorin derivative)로 변환하여, 새로운 형태의 분자구조를 합성하였다. 합성된 클로린유도체는 수용액에서의 흡/발광 특성, 활성산소 생성능력, 광독성, 그리고 피부투과성을 평가하였다.
