An acute thromboembolism of the peripheral artery is a common complication in patient with inappropriately treated atrial fibrillation. A case of successful recanalization of a thromboembolic occlusion of the left common femoral artery, using the PercuSurge GuardWireTM System, with a 7 Fr. guiding catheter, was experienced in a patient with atrial fibrillation. 저자들은 심방 세동으로 인한 좌측 대퇴 동맥의 혈전 색전증으로 급성 동맥 폐쇄를 보인 환자에서 PercuSurge GuardWireTM System과 7 Fr. 유도관을 이용하여 혈전의 원위부 색전 없이 성공적으로 경피적 흡입 색전 제거술을 시행한 1예를 경험하였기에 문헌 고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.
압전응용을 위한 Langasite(La$_3$Ga$_5$SiO$_{14}$) 단결정의 성장 및 특성

Recently rapid progress of electronic and telecommunication technology requires the development of new piezoelectric materials and cellular communication is more and more used in various fields. Langasite(La3Ga5SiO14) is suitable for new piezoelectric properties. Langastie can be applied as communication devices due to intermediate piezoelectric properties which are similar to those of quartz and LiTaO3 in its acoustic characteristics. So in this study Langastie(La3Ga5SiO14) single crystal with 47 mm in diameter and 25mm in length were sucessfully grown by using self-designed Czochralski system. In addition optimum growth conditions for the piezoelectric applications throughout estimation of crystal quality and frequency characteristics were investigated.
Xenon-arc type floating zone법에 의한 루비 단결정 성장

직경 6-7 mm, 길이 20-25 mm인 루비 단결정을 자체 제작한 FZHY1을 이용하여 xenon-arc type floating zone법으로 성장시켰다. 결정성장을 위한 하소 및 소결조건에 대해 조사했으며, 성장시에 성장속도와 회전속도 및 냉각속도를 제어 함으로써 최적 성장조건을 확립하였다. 측정한 투과율 데이터에서 $Cr^{3+}$의 available energy를 계산하였고, Laue 사진으로부터 결정의 성장방향이 [1010]방향임을 확인하였다. 성장된 결정의 wafer의 굴절율은 1.714, ${\Delta} n \le 0.003 으로써 광학적으로 균일하였다. 이 결정들은 693 nm의 파장과 중간상태의 에너지준위를 갖는 레이저 재료로 사용될 수 있었다. Ruby single crystals of 6-7 mm in dialneter and 20-25 mm in length were grown by the xenon-arc type floating zone method using a self-designed FZHY1, Calcination and sintering conditions were investigated and optimum growth conditions were established for controlling the factors such as growth rates, rotation speeds and cooling rates. Also the available energy levels of $Cr^{3+}$ were calculated from transmission data. The growth direction of the crystals was [1010] direction identified by Laue back reflection pattern. The distribution of refractive indices on the wafer of the grown crystals was homogeneous except for the edges of the wafer. The crystals could be used as a laser material with a wavelength of 693 nm and a metastate level.

Langasite( La3Ga5SiO14) is suitable for new piezoelectric properties. Langasite can be applied for communication de-vices due to intermediate piezoelectric properties which are similar to those of quartz and LiTaO3 in its acoustic cha-racteristics. In this study Langasite( La3Ga5SiO14) single crystals were successfully grown by using self-designed Czo-chralski system. From the results of optical properties it was found that crystals having a high quality and higher optical transmittance were grown at atmosphere of 1 to 30 vol% of oxygen content.
Travelin Solvent Floating Zone법에 의한 LaAlO$_3$ 단결정의 성장 및 특성

LaAlO3 Single crystals used as a substrate for thin film depositions of a high temperature oxide su-perconductor YB2Cu3O7 and applied to microwave frequencies were grown by the Traveling Solvent Flati-ing Zone (TSFZ) method and characterized. For the growth of LaAlO3 single crystals polycrystalline fe-edrods were prepared from powder mixture of La2O3 and Al2O3 with a mole ratio of 1:1 calcined at 110$0^{\circ}C$ for 3h and sintered at 140$0^{\circ}C$ for 4h The growth LaAlO3 crystals was 4-5mm in diameter 30mm in length and dark brown. The growth rate was 2-3mm/h and the rotation speeds were 10rpm for an upper ro-tation and 40 rpm for a lower rotation The growing crystals and the feedrods were counter-rotated. The orientation of the grown single crystals of LaAlO3 was identified to be [111] direction. Dielectric constants were measured to be 30-33 between 100 kHz and 1 MHz in the 30$0^{\circ}C$ to 45$0^{\circ}C$ temperature range and 102 in a range of 100 kHz at the phase transformation temperature of 522$^{\circ}C$ Dielectric losses were calculated to be 1.8$\times$10-4 at the room temperature and 5.7$\times$10-3 at the phase transformation temperature. Lattice con-stants of the grown crystlals were determined to be aR=5.3806 $\AA$ and $\alpha$=60.043$^{\circ}$ by the least square method.
