        난용도입계의 우량교배조합 선발시험

        966The study was carried out to select the superior laying hens by crossing of 5 White Leghorn strains. The colonial strain females which were imported from U. S. in 1967 were crossed with 4 different inbred strain male of White Leghorn. Body weight at 8 weeks, at first egg, at 300 and 500 days were heavier in crossbreeds than in imported strain. Age at first egg was similar in crossbred and in imported strain. The egg weight of crossbreeds (58.78g) was heavier than mid-parents but lighter than imported strain (60.57g). Crossbred, except M×C, produced 24-27 more eggs than imported strain#on the basis of hen-housed. Feed requirement per 1 ㎏ egg production was similar between crossbred and imported strain. On the basis of the results of this study, to make maximum heterosis for egg production, it is recommended that Colonial inbredstrain female should be cross with male of Sung Hwan, Darvy and Dembro strains. 1967년에 미국에서 도입한 백색레구혼코로니 알계통 원종계의 우수한 교배조합을 선발하여 우수한 산란계를 일반 양축가에게 보급할 수 있는 자료를 얻고저 1969년 3월부터 1970년 8월까지 도입계코로니 알계통을 모계로 하고 그외 4계통의 근친계를 부계로 하여 본시험을 실서 하였다. 8주령체중 초산시체중 300일 및 500일령 체중에 있어서 교태종이 무거웠다. 초산일령에 있어서는 교배종이 167~176일로서 도입계의 초산일령 168일과 비슷하였다. 란중은 교배종 58.87g으로서 양친평균보다는 무거웠으나 도입계의 60.57g 보다는 가벼웠다. 500일령 Henhoused 산란지수는 교배종 M×C구를 제외하고는 194~197개로서 도입계보다 24~27개 많았다. 사료요구율에 있어서는 도입계와 교배구간에 큰 차가 없었으며 생존율에 있어서도 육성율을 제외하고는 교배종과 도입계간에 별 차가 없었다. 이상의 결과로 보아 도입계 코로니알 계통은 성환계통(S), 다-비계통(B), 뎀부로계통(A) 등과 교배하여 사육하는 것이 좋을 것으로 생각된다.

        닭의 경제형질에 대한 유전력 및 유전상관에 관한 연구

        The purpose of this study was to evaluate the value of initial egg weights as selection criterion of laying hens for improvement of egg production performance. Data here used came from records of 406 white leghorn hen progenies produced by hierachal mating of 44 sires and 201 dams at three different hatching stages, which were maintained at Livestock Experiment Station. The data were analysed by the method of variance component analysis to estimate heritabilities, maternal variance, on 5 economic traits and genetic, phenotypic and environmental correlations among them. The results obtained were as follows: 1. The heritability estimates were 0.549 for body weight at first egg, 0.500 for age at first egg, 0.160 for initial egg weight, 0.398 for matured egg weight and 0.429 for egg number to 500 days. 2. The fraction of the total variance which were due to the maternal effect was 0.175 for body weight at first egg, 0.204 for age at first egg, -0.058 for initial egg weight, 0.140 for matured egg weight and 0.095 for egg number to 500 days. 3. The genetic correlations of body weight at first egg with age at first egg, initial egg weight, matured egg weight and egg number to 500 days were -0.503. 0.300, -0.186 and -0.105, respectively. The genetic correlations of age at first egg with initial egg weight, matured egg weight and egg number to 500 days were 0.501, -0.238 and -1.969. The genetic correlations of initial egg weight with matured egg weight and egg number to 500 days were 0.493 and -0.537. There was 0.068 of genetic correlations between matured egg weight arid egg number to 500 days. On the basis of the results obtained in this study, it is recommented that for the effective improvement of egg weight, selection should be practiced for initial egg weight.

        난용종계의 난질의 유전력 및 유전상관에 관한 연구

        This study was conducted to improve the interior egg quality with a total of 6,093 eggs, laid at 351 Single Comb White Leghorns and 326 Rhode Island Reds, produced at National Livestock Breeding Station from March 1, 1979 through July 30, 1980. The results obtained are summarized as follows; 1. The average albumen height of the eggs at first eggs, 300 and 500 days of age was 8.32, 7.51 and 6.74㎜ in the S.C.W. Leghorn and 8.04, 6.94 and 6.05㎜ in the R.L.Red, and the Haugh units at first egg, 300 and S00 days of age was 90.92, 79.74 and 76.25 in the S.C.W. Leghorn, and 88.54, 80.02 and 74.56 in the R.I. Red, also the egg shell thickness at first egg, 300 and 500 days of age was 0.383, (1.364 and 0.334㎜ in the S.C.W. Leghorn and 0.354, 0.332 and 0.327 in the R.I. Red. 2. The heritability estimates in the S.C.W. Leghorn and R.I. Red were 0.398∼0.847 and 0.306∼0.634 for albumen height, 0.162∼0.594 and 0.125∼0.485 for Haugh units, 0.185-0.339 and 0.176∼0.402 for egg shell thickness, respectively. 3. The genetic correlation coefficients between the interior egg qualities were as follows. In the S.C.W. Leghorn and R.I. Red, the coefficients between albumen height and Haugh units, 0.432∼0.845 arid 0.397∼0.974; between albumen height and egg shell thickness, 0.046∼0.226 and 0.068∼0.197; between Haugh units and egg shell thickness, 0.089∼0.364 and 0.165∼0.327 ; respectively.

        산란계에 있어서 부화시간의 유전에 관한 연구

        This study was carried out to estimate the heritabilities of hatching time, chicks weight and ratio of chick weight to egg weight. The data used in this study were the records of 1,090 chicks from two strains of white Leghorn. The hatching times were a few differ between strains but big differences were showed among families. The positive genetic correlations estimated both sire and dam components were 0.274 between hatching time and chick weight, and 0.289 between chick weight and ratio of chick weight to egg weight.

        The purpose of the present study was to evaluate the relative economic importance of the major production traits in laying hens. Based on the results of this study, it was showed that feed requirement, average egg weight and hen-housed egg production influenced greatly on the income over feed and chick cost.

        돼지의 繁殖能力에 对한 結合能力, 母體效果 및 相反交雜効果 推定에 關한 硏究

        This study was conducted to estimate combining abilities, maternal and reciprocal effects for reproductive traits in swine. Data obtained from the litters of Duroc, Landrace, Yorkshire and Hampshire breeds were analysed. The least-square means and standard errors for pig weight at birth and 21 days of age, litter sizes at birth and 21 days of age, and liveability were 1.25±0.013㎏, 4.92± 0.027㎏, 10.29±0.074 heads, 8.55±0.089 heads and 84.48±1.028%, respectively. The variance components for pig weight at birth and 21 days of age were largely due to breed difference, reciprocal effect and general combining ability. The variance components for litter size at birth and 21 days of age were resulted from nonadditive genetic variance (specific combining ability and heterosis) and reciprocal effect. Particulary specific combining ability was most important factor for litter size at birth and maternal effect was most important in percentage survival. In addition to this, specific combining ability and reciprocal effect were also important for this trait.

        肉用鷄 選拔에 關한 硏究

        The study was carried out to investigate the efficient selection method for the improvement of growth rate of broiler breed. Eight hundred chicks from the straight breed of White Cornish and White Plymouth Rock were used for this study. The heritabilities and genetic correlations were estimated for body weight, breast angle, keel length and shank length and, various selection indexes were calculated with body weight, breast angle, keel length and shank length at 4, 6 and 8 week of age. Based on the results of this study, index selection with body weight, breast angle and keel length at 6 weeks of age was most efficient for the improvement of growth rate of broiler breed.

        돼지의 繁殖形質에 對한 雜種强勢効果 推定

        To investigate heterosis and environmental effects in the reproductive traits of swine, a total of 1,010 litters (359 purebreds, 544 two-way crossbreds and 107 three-way crossbreds) were farrowed from gilts and sows of Duroc, Landrace, Yorkshire and Hampshire. The litters were farrowed from January 1980 to December 1981. The average individual heterosis (hI) was -5.51% for pig weight at birth, -2.20% for pig weight at 21 days of age, 9.06% for litter size at birth, 7.81 for litter size at 21 days of age and -0.18% for percentage survival. The average maternal heterosis (hm) was 3.10% for pig weight at birth, 3.59% for pig weight at 21 days of age, 6.20% for litter size at birth, 9.21% for litter size at 21 days of age and 2.72% for percentage survival. The heterosis effect of purebred vs. three-way crossbred was -2.41% for pig. weight at birth, 1.39% for pig weight at 21 days of age, 15.26% for litter size at birth, 17.02% for litter size at 21 days of age and 2.54% for percentage survival. The environmental effects of the season and the parity were significant in pig weight at birth showed the high effect in the Spring and Summer. But the pig weight at 21 days of age revealed the low effect in the Summer. In the effect of parity, the pig weight at birth and at 21 days of age were very low in the first and more than the 5th parity.

On the basis of the results of this study, to make maximum heterosis for egg production, it is recommended that Colonial inbred strain female should be cross with male of Sung Hwan, Darvy and Dembro strains.

        한국 꿩 ( Korean Ring - necked Pheasant ) 의 형태적 특징과 핵형 분석

        A preliminary study of phenotypic characteristics and karyotype of Korean ring-necked pheasant was carried out. The phenotypic characters of interest were mainly feather color and body conformation. In phenotypic characteristics. the feather color patterns and body type showed significant differences in male and female. A distinctive feature of Korean ring-necked pheasant male had red skin around eyes. white ring neck. and brownish-yellow color in whole body feather In contrast. a female bad mixed color of dark brown and buff in whole body feather. Through the karyological analysis from carp embryonic tissues the diploid complements of Korean ring-necked pheasant had a total of 82 chromosomes which were mostly acrocentric chromosomes except metacentric chromosome I and Z sex chromosome. The morphologic structures of these chromosomes were almost telomeric acrocentric. However, chromosome 5 and W sex chromosome were the acrocentric chromosomes with a short arm. The centromeric indices of chromosome I and Z sex chromosome were 39% and 42% respectively. The relative lengths of these chromosomes were 32.5% and 13.3% respectively.
