Light Rail Transit(LRT) Systems with transport capacity between subway and bus(5,000-25,000 persons per hour) are being carried on over 100 lines around the world. In Korea, to solve the urban transportation problem, the introduction of LRT system has been proceeded positively. It is planned to develop the Korean standard LRT system in which safety, efficiency and cost effectiveness are emphasized. So we were able to make proto type of Rubber tired AGT system for LRT. This is capable of driverless operation using CBTC(Communication Based Train Control) of Moving Block System and is currently making an experiment for reliability in test-line. This study is focused on verifving the train tracking with CBTC in driverless and ATO mode through implementing the examination.

The role of environment-friendly and energy-efficient rail transportation is on the rise as a "sustainable transportation means" to cope with environmental changes that are major concerns around the world. Along with the environmental problems, the C02 inhibition issue became critical for mankind to prepare global warming and high oil prices. It has come to a point where an alternate means are needed to revitalize plans including renewable energy, bicycle utilization, and prepare new solutions for decreasing number of cars within the city. The Personal Rapid Transit(PRT) is the revolutionary future transportation means that can replace cars to deal with ever-increasing traffic congestions, vehicles, and environmental/energy problems. Expected as an efficient means, technology development has already taken place in developed countries such as U.S., England, and Germany. To meet the future demands, PRT installation around the nation's new and existing towns is being examined to produce important factors. The factors are produced for examining the availability of system requirements during design and construction practice.

In the design of the light rail transit which is more reliable and economical, it is essential to develope a efficient third rail system. Especially, the analysis for the conductivity of conduct rail and the wear of collecting shoe is the first step of its development. In this paper, experiments for conductivity in conductor rail, wear in collecting shoe were performed respectively as different materials of conductor rail and current collector. Noise level and interruption, wear and contact resistance of collecting shoe were proposed as design parameters for the development of this system. Experimental equipment and methods of design parameter stated above were proposed, which is expected that analyzed results will be used as a basic data for the development of the system.

국가기간 교통망 계획의 기본방향으로 속도향상, 접근성 개선 등으로 간선철도의 경쟁력과 역할 증대가 제시됨에 따라 속도경쟁력 대폭 향상방안으로 운행속도 180㎞/h~200㎞/h 이상, 대도시간 2~3시간 이내 이동 및 접근성 개선 사항으로 주요 철도역에 30분 이내 접근, 안전성, 친환경성, 쾌적성 등 향상을 통한 인간 · 환경 중심적 교통수단으로서 역할 강화라는 화두가 제시되었다. 이에 고속화 간선철도망 구축을 위한 분야별(차량, 토목구조물, 전차선 등)방안이 제시 되었다. 이에 신호시스템 분야에서는 기존의 시스템을 파악하여 속도별로 시스템의 적합성내지 타당성을 통해 각 변수(폐색, 제동거리 등)를 감안하여 신호 현시별 시스템 구축방안을 제시하였다.

If GNSS-based location information, expected to become the mainstream of the future technology, is applied to the future transportation, it will be of benefit to as follows; cost reducing effects on operating expanse and constructing expense due to decrease of ground unit installation, development of new technologies for train, or vehicle control system and becoming a front runner in the market. Therefore, this paper provides the minimum requirements for GNSS based system thru the studies on the applicability of GNSS based system to railway system, distinctions of the new technology between the existing technologies, and location accuracy.
