김환기 예술의 디아스포라 이미지 분석

전라남도 신안에서 태어난 김환기는 일본, 프랑스, 미국의 뉴욕을 삶의 터전으로 하여 화가의 길을 걸었다. 그는 고국에서의 짧은 삶을 뒤로 하고 뉴욕에서 성공한 화가로 말년을 보냈으나, 그림의 근원인 정서와 지배적 의식은 고국과 고향에 대한 그리움이었다. 실제 그는 자신이 아무리 변모한다 해도 한국 사람이고 자신의 그림은 세계적이기보다는 민족적이라고 고백한 바 있다. 이 때문에 그의 그림 소재 대다수가 한국의 자연과 생활 속에서 흔히 보았던 기물들이었다. 특히 대표적 소재인 백자는 한국적 특성을 응축하고 있어 김환기의 그림에 가장 많이 등장했다. 섬이 고향인 그는 바다의 색깔이라 할 수 있는 푸른색을 주조로 한 그림을 다수 그렸다. 투명하나 고요히 가라앉아 있는 청색은 고향에 대한 그리움으로 가득 차 외롭고 쓸쓸한 화가의 감성을 표현하는데 더할 나위 없이 적합한 색채였다. 김환기는 생전에 디아스포라적 관점에서 조명된 적이 없다. 이는 디아스포라 연구가 1980년대 이후에 시작되었다는 점과 궤를 같이 하나, 김환기의 삶을 디아스포라 삶의 틀에 적용해 보면 뚜렷한 등식이 전개됨을 확인할 수 있다. 즉 그는 비록 몸은 이역만리에 있으나 종족과 조국에 대한 집합적 기억과 집단 및 귀환 의식, 조국의 발전에 대한 관심과 헌신, 상호작용 등에서 디아스포라 작가임이 증명되고 있는 것이다. 김환기의 작품은 추상이미지에서도 정체성과 향수를 잘 담아내 보여준다. 특히 우주와 자연의 질서를 담아내는데 있어 음양의 원리를 적용시키고 있으며 인간을 중심으로 한 생명체 하나하나에 무한한 의미와 가치를 담아내 존중했다는 점에서 동양인과 교집합 된 한국인으로서 정체성을 확실히 드러내 인식시킨다. Kim Hwan-ki, who was born in Shinan, Jeollanam-do, lived his life as a painter having Japan, France, and New York, the U.S., as his homes. Although he finished his short life in his homeland and spent his later years in New York as a successful painter, his emotion and dominant conscience, the sources of his paintings, were longing for his homeland and hometown. Actually he confessed that no matter how much he might change, he would be still a Korean and his paintings would be ethnic rather than international. Thus, most of the materials of his paintings were objects that could be easily seen in Korean nature and lives. Especially, the representative material, white porcelain, contained Korean characteristics and appeared in Kim Hwan-ki’s paintings the most. He, whose hometown was an island, drew many paintings that had blue, the color of sea, as the main color. Blue, transparent yet solemn, was the most appropriate color to express emotion of the painter who was lonely and full of longing for his hometown. Kim Hwan-ki was never focused from the perspective of diaspora while he was alive. This may be due to the fact that studies on diaspora started after 1980s, but if we apply Kim Hwan-ki’s life to the frame of diaspora life, we can find that there exists a distinct formula. In other words, although his body was far away from his hometown, given his collective memories about his tribe and homeland, group and returning consciousness, and interest in, devotion to, and interaction with the development of his homeland, it can be proved that he was a diaspora painter. The abstract images of Kim Hwan-ki’s works also show his identity and homesickness well. Especially he clearly reveals his identity as a Korean included in Asian in that he used the principle of yin and yang in drawing the order of the universe and nature, and respected every single life including human beings by showing their infinite meanings and values.

레오나르도 다빈치 회화의 표현 기법 분석

르네상스 3대 거장 중 한 명인 레오나르도 다빈치는 회화와 조각 같은 예술 장르뿐 아니라 교량 설계, 무기 개발에 이르기까지 다양한 분야에서 독창적 자취를 남긴 인물이다. 특히 그의 회화는 자연을 세밀하게 관찰하여 완벽한 묘사를 추구했으며 스푸마토 기법을 창안해 신비의 경지를 보였다는 평가를 받는다. 다빈치의 인체 묘사는 해부학을 바탕으로 한 사실적 표현과 아름다움을 극대화한 분할 구도 등 서양미술사에서 최고의 업적을 자랑한다. 오늘날 다빈치 사후 수백여년의 시간이 흘렀어도 그와 그의 예술에 대한 연구는 여전히 뜨거운 관심사이며 그러한 논의는 늘 새로운 해석으로 분분하고 반향도 대단하다. 다빈치는 회화의 정확도를 기하기 위해 기구를 사용하고 실제 척도를 따랐으며 기하학의 원리를 도입해 표현했다. 그는 이른바 황금비율이라 불리는, 자연이 갖고 있다는 가장 아름다운 구조를 회화에 응용하였으며 그로부터 최고의 미와 조화를 구현코자 했다. 다빈치가 창안한 스푸마토 기법은 현실과 사실에 기반을 두면서도 내적 표현을 아우르고 있다는 점에서 작품 해석을 더욱 풍요롭게 만든다. 그의 작품이 ``시(時)적 회화``라 평가될 정도로 신비한 느낌을 주며 환상적인 분위기를 자아내는 것도 이 때문이다. 다빈치 회화의 표현 기법은 그만큼 창의적이었으며 그것은 미술사에 영원히 남은 위대한 족적이었다. Leonardo da Vinci, one of the three great masters during the Renaissance, has made the great achievement in painting, sculpture, moreover bridge design and development of weapons. Especially his painting was received good reviews, that seeked perfection in description of nature. In addition to Da Vinci`s ``sfumato technique``, this technique has been called the stage of mystery. When Da Vinci described human body, his works were based on human anatomy. Therefore his art looks very realistic. And Da Vinci divided composition, which maximizes nature`s beauty. At this time, although Da Vinci died hundreds of years ago, a study of his art has created a great sensation. Da Vinci was using the apparatus in order to ensure the accuracy of conversation and expression by introducing the principles of geometry as the actual scale. He used what we call natural application of the most beautiful structure into the conversation, which means golden ratio. He tried to implement the best beauty and harmony from it. Da Vinci`s ``sfumato technique`` is based on intrinsic expression as large as well. And that made his works mysterious and fantastic. The techniques of Da Vinci paintings are so creative that they will be a great trail in art history forever.

온라인에서 보낸 한 학기: 디지털 대면수업, 그 경험의 의미

본 연구는 2020년 봄학기 코로나 19라는 예상치 못한 위기 속에서 갑작스럽게 시행된 온라인 수업에 참여하게된 학습자들의 경험을 좇아보았다. 특히 전통적 대면수업에서나 기대할 수 있었던 상호작용성이 구현된 새로운 형태의 온라인 학습인 디지털 대면수업을 주요 연구주제로 삼았으며, 학습자의 경험의 본질을 통해 새로운 학습 방법에 대해 탐색적으로 조망해 보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 디지털 대면수업을 경험한 대학생 및 대학원생을 의도적 표집 후 눈덩이 표집으로 총 14명 선정하여 성찰적 접근방식의 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 본 연구는 심층 인터뷰와 잠정적 분석을 병행함으로써 연구 질문의 변화를 겪었고, 궁극적으로 1. 디지털 대면수업에 참여한 학습자들은 전통적 교실수업과 비교하여 어떠한 차이를 느꼈으며, 어떻게 받아들였나? 2. 학습자들은 디지털 대면수업에 어떻게 적응하게 되었나? 3. 디지털 대면수업의 경험을 통해 새롭게 대두된 문제는 무엇인가?를 연구문제로 확정하였다. 최종 인터뷰 종료 후, 개방코딩으로 초기 분류 후 그 공통 속성을 도출하여 50가지 카테고리로 범주화하였으며, ‘질문하기’ ‘비교하기’ ‘뒤집어보기’ 등의 분석적 귀납방법(analytic induction)을 사용하여 이를 분석하였다. 인터뷰 결과, 초기 디지털 대면수업을 임시적인 수업으로 인식하던 학습자들은 전통적 교실수업과 다른 맥락에 많은 불만과 고충을 호소했으나, 막상 한 학기동안의 공식적 수업 방식으로 공표된 이후에는 오히려 적극적인 적응의 노력을 기울인다는 점을 알 수 있었다. 이와 함께, 학습자간의 관계에 있어서 윤리적 규범과 상호 교류의 부족, 교수자의 테크놀로지 격차 등이 새로운 문제로 등장하였다. 본 연구를 통해, 적극적 수업 참여자로서의 학습자를 확인할 수 있었으며, 디지털에서 다루기 힘든 학습자간 또는 학습자-교수자간의 정서적 연대를 위한 논의가 필요함을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 디지털 대면수업을 위한 윤리적 지침의 마련의 필요성과 디지털 대면수업의 효과를 제고하기 위한 테크놀로지적, 교수설계적 논의의 확장이 필요하다는 점을 강조하고자 한다. In this study, we explored the experience of learners who suddenly participated in new kind of online lessons, when full-scale digital face-to-face learnings were implemented due to the pandemic in the spring of 2020. In particular, the main research theme was digital face-to-face lessons that implemented the interactivity which was expected in traditional face-to-face lessons. This was qualitative research that utilizes in-depth interviews to examine university and graduate students who experienced digital face-to-face lessons on a reflective approach. Research questions were (1) What difference did the learners who participated in the digital face-to-face class feel compared to the traditional classrooms? (2) How did learners adapt to digital face-to-face classes? (3) What are the new problems that emerged through the experience of digital face-to-face classes? Learners expressed dissatisfaction and had complaints in the early days when they considered digital face-to-face lessons as an improvisation of classroom lessons. After being accepted into formal lessons, however, their perception and attitude dramatically changed with an effort to adapt to the new class style. Meanwhile, the lack of design and preparation of lessons optimized for the class and new emotional and ethical issues have emerged as a common cause of dissatisfaction. The article concludes with a discussion of the implications for digital face-to-face learning research and continued development.
