Ozone has a strong oxidized capacity next to fluorine, so it is used for oxidized dissolution of organism, decoloration, deodorization, fumigation, etc., regarding to water. In this study dye wastewater was treated strongly with ozone at 100g/hr and the flow rate through ozone contact tank was adjusted to 2l/min The experiment was conducted at three different conditions. In the first place, effluent and raw wastewater was ozonized and secondly raw wastewater was treated using AlCl₃ and PAC coagulation. The third condition was post-ozone treatment following PAC coagulation. As a result, pre-ozone treatment process with PAC coagulation and post-ozone treatment showed more efficient effluent quality than the previous conventional process.

Nitrogen, in its various forms, can deplete dissolved oxygen levels in receiving waters, stimulate aquatic growth, exhibit toxicity toward aquatic life and affect the suitability of sewage for reuse. Pilot-scale Rotating Biological Contactor(RBC) experiments were conducted to examine biological nitrification, respectively, of municipal sewage with five different internal recirculation ratios of 0, 1, 2, 3, and 4 using the constant hydraulic loading of 205 U/㎡·day. The use of internal recirculation improved nitrification on account of the dilution of biodegradable organic carbon in influent sewage down to 15mg/L of SBOD_5 or less. Ammonium nitrogen of 14.3±2.4 % was consumed by cellular assimilation without the occurrence of denitrification. The thickness of biofilm didn`t seem effect significantly the nitrification and denitrification. Nitrification with internal recirculation was found to occur using hydraulic loading rate of as high as 205L/㎡·day, which was beyond the generally known values of it.
높은 수리학적부하의 조건에서 내부순환형 회전원판공정을 이용한 도시하수내 질소제거에 관한 연구

The experiments of the combined RBC system for denitrification and nitrification were performed using various hydraulic loading rates varied with the internal recirculation ratios. On the combined RBC system, hydraulic loading rates examined in the denitrification reactor were 509, 764, 1,019, and 1,273 ℓ/㎥·day with corresponding hydraulic retention time(HRT) of 61, 40, 30, and 24 minutes, while in the nitrification reactors hydraulic loading rates were 127, 191, 255, and 318 ℓ/㎥· day with corresponding hydraulic retention time of 91, 61, 46, and 37 minutes. The double substrate kinetic model suggested by Dixon and Brown(l977) was fitted to the denitrification data observed in the combined denitrificationhitrification system, showing the correlation coefficient of 0.90. Therefore, it was found that denitrification in the submerged RBC reactor was reasonably well simulated by Dixon and Brown`s model and was significantly controlled by SBOD_(5) and nitrate load. The use of internal recirculation improved nitrification on account of the dilution of biodegradable organic carbon in influent sewage down to 15 ㎎/L of SBOD_(5) or less.
