Vol.10 No.5
The purpose of this study is to establish the standard of fire lane design to improve the performance of disaster prevention in local area. To accomplish it, we have focused on three research methods as below: first, we have expected disaster occurrence based on emergency tendency in local area; second, we have verified fire lane routes design through fire lane modeling and network analysis; third, we have quantitatively examined a possibility of danger of fire lanes through current road network modeling and analysis. The result of this study could be helpful to effective fire lane designs and quantitative analyses.
Vol.9 No.5
Escape distance and escape barrier are critical elements for the quantitative evaluation of escape safety. Through theoretical demonstration and modeling in precedent studies, they have been analyzed for their generality and applicability. To make more practical evaluation method, we should quantitatively analyze the influence of each barrier and escape condition on escape safety considering various barriers in escaping routes. In this study, to develop more accurate and applicable escape analysis model, we have focused on three research methods as below: First, we derived quantified function to predict various escape barriers in escaping routes by theoretical analyses of the escape barriers and conditions. Second, we substituted the derived quantified function for an evaluation tool of escape safety suggested by precedent studies. Third, we examined applicability and feasibility of the developed method by modeling with the consideration of the escape conditions and barriers.

The paper aims at developing quantitative estimation method to evaluate the escape safety in buildings. This model is distinctive in that path reliability decreases according to escape distance and escape barrier such as doors, and it is unchangeable by adding new nodes. In this paper, reliability calculation is performed by the use of simple network model of the schematic building plan. The result of this paper is expected to be used as an important index for escape safety in a building. It is also expected that this evaluation model will be adapted as an evaluation index of the escape safety of urban area and underground space.

Escape distance and Escape barrier is typical element with regard to quantitative evaluation of the Escape Safety. It had been examined to generality and application to use theoretical proof, simple model and model of actual level. But for the best development of actual evaluation method, synthetically examine can be possible about various Escape barrier on the route of Escape.
