The maturation and spawning of white crocker Pennahia argentatus were investigated using samples collected in the Southern Sea of Korea from January to December 2018. We analysed monthly changes in maturity stage, gonadosomatic index (GSI), total length (TL) at 50% group maturity. The spawning period was May to July. Fecundity varied between 71,627 and 888,041 eggs. The relationship between the fecundity and TL of the fish was expressd in the fecundity equation as F=0.2198TL4.2784 (r<sup>2</sup>=0.8423). The percentage of sexually mature females estimated from a logistic function was over 50% for the size group 19.33 cm (total length, TL).

Age structure and growth of white croaker Pennahia argentata were estimated an analysis of otoliths. Fish specimens were collected from the Southern Sea of Korea from January to December 2018. A thin section method was used for age determination because otoliths of white croaker are oval in shape and large in size. Otoliths were cut vertically into 0.4-0.5 mm thick sections with an electric saw (Micracut 125). Monthly changes in the marginal index indicated that rings (opaque zone) were formed once a year in August. The estimated von Bertalanffy growth equation estimated by a non-linear regression were L<sub>∞</sub>=34.71 (1-e<sup>0.38(t+0.80)</sup>). In the present study, the oldest female was 8 years old and the male was 7 years old.

Filefish Thamnaconus modestus has seen a sharp decline in their catch, we must strive for continuous resource management. We investigated the maturation and spawning of T. modestus by trawl net and set net from January 2018 to November 2019, off Jeju Is. and in coastal waters of North Gyeongsang Province's Korea. We analyzed monthly change total length (cm), gonadosomatic index (GSI) and maturity stages, egg diameter (mm), the relations fecundity and total length. GSI for Jeju Is. was the highest in April (3.17, 2.43), and decreased from July to 1.73 in August and GyeongBuk's GSI was the highest in Apri l (1.86, 2.58), followed by the high in May and the sharp decline in September, which is 0.23. Using a histological method, the annual reproductive cycle of T. modestus can be divided into 5stage in females; the early growing stage (Jan.-Mar.), late growing stage (Apr.-May), Mature stage, spent stage (Oct.), Recover and resting stage (Nov.-Jan.).We estimate the TL at 50% maturity as 24.1cm for female, fecundity ranged from 560,044 eggs at 23.4cm total length to 1,580,387 eggs at 36.6.cm TL.

Fish were collected by an otter trawl from December 1995 to July 1997 in Suyoung Bay, Korea. The temperature ranged from 12.0 to 27.7℃ and salinity ranged from 31.2 to 34.45‰. The number of species, number of individuals and biomass of fish collected were 52 species, 2,006 individuals and 63,580 grams, respectively. The demersal fish predominated in the number of individuals (90.4%) and biomass (81.4%). The diversity index (H`) was 1.5∼2.6. The dominant species were Platycephalus indicus, Limanda yokohamae, Sillago sihama and Hexagrammos otakii.
우리나라에 분포하는 꼼치(Liparis tanakae )의 생 식생태와 어업경영에 관한 연구

This study analyzed the reproductive biology, fishing characteristics and changes in fishing business of Liparis tanakae, snailfish collected from September to March. It was the period when they were mainly caught from 2018 to 2020. The average length was generally small in September and October and was large in January and February. The average body weight was generally around 1,500 g and the average body weight in autumn was lower and in winter was higher. The sex ratio of male and female was 0.40:0.60 (χ <sup>2</sup> test, p < 0.05). The spawning period was estimated from October to February and the main spawning period was from December to February through the GSI. The egg diameter of matured staged female L. tanakae was 0.11-1.48 mm, which was the main spawning period and the relationship between body weight and fecundity was F = 1849TL<sup>0.1093</sup> (r<sup>2</sup> = 0.2401). The monthly catch of L. tanakae was high from November to February, the time of migrating to the coastal area. Coastal gillnet fishery showed the highest percentage of all fisheries catching Liparis spp. Liparis spp. were caught at a high rate in winter in Chungnam, Jeonbuk, Jeonnam and Gyeongnam region, and revenue and cost was increased since 2017. Assuming a situation where there is no catch of Liparis spp., the fishing profit that can be obtained was the highest in Gyeongnam region and the dependence on fishing of Liparis spp. by coastal gillnet fishery was high.

Spawning and fecundity of Muraenesox cinereus captured in Korean waters were investigated from August 1996 to July 1997. Spawning took place during June and July and larger females matured earlier than smaller females. The relationship between fecundity(Fc) and body length (BL) is : Fc = 4.7981BL 2.5097. The mean and 955 confidence interval of absolute and relative fecundity were 611,884(±479,973) and 358(±149), respectively. Fecundity per unit body weight increased with body length approximately, but decreased when body length was over 121 cm . Females reached at the first maturity with body length of 70.57cm, All the females with body length bigger than 101~110cm sexually matured.
범가자미 , Verasper variegatus 의 연령과 성장

1992년 12월부터 1993년 12월까지 매월 1회씩 남해안에서 어획된 범가자미를 대상으로 연령과 성장을 조사하였다. 연령사정은 이식으로 하였으며, 윤문은 투명대에서 불투명대로 이행하는 경계로 하였다. 윤문은 2월부터 3월 사이에 연 1회 형성되었다. 이석경(R)에 대한 전장(TL)의 관계를 보면 암컷은 TL=18.0329R- 11.6879, 수컷은 TL=15.1458R-5.6902였다. 전장(TL)에 대한 체중(BW)의 관계는 암컷은 BW=0.0065TL^(3.2042), 수컷은 BW=0.0146TL^(2.9620)이었다. 연령(t)에 대한 체장(Lt)의 Von Bertalanf 성장식은 암컷은 L_t= 71.0783(1-e^(-0.3038(t-0.1173))), 수컷은 L_t=57.4414(1-e^(0.2981(t+0.1590)))이었다. 채집된 표본 중 암컷은 6세, 수컷은 4세까지 있었지만 대부분 3세 이하였다. Age and growth of spotted halibut, Verasper variegatus were determined using samples collected from commercial catch in the Southern Sea, Korea. Age was determined by counting the otolith annuli which were clearly defined between translucent and opaque zones, and formed between February and March. Growth of spotted halibut was expressed by the von Bertalanffy's equation as L_t= 71.07(1-e^(-0.3036(t-0.1173))) for females and L_t=57.44(1-e^(0.2981(t+0.1590))) for males. Almost all the fish examined were younger than 3 years old. The oldest fish was 6 years old in female and 4 years old in male.
