        편백나무 잎 추출물 및 편백나무 잎과 꼭두서니 추출물로 염색한 견직물의 표면색 및 기능성

        This study finds surface color and functions of natural dyeing from Chamaecyparis obtusa leaves which help cure skin problems such as atopic dermatitis. This study also seeks to find dyeing properties and functions of natural colorants derived from Chamaecyparis obtusa and Rubia tinctorum on silk. Dyeing properties and functions are compared between silks dyed with Chamaecyparis obtusa and silks composite-dyed with Chamaecyparis obtusa and Rubia tinctorum. The comparison examines the feasibility of developing healthy and high functional fabrics and wellness of fashion merchandises. Silk dyeing with Chamaecyparis obtuse leaves yields yellow and double coloring from Chamaecyparis obtusa; however, Rubia tinctorum yields yellow/red on silks. Silks dyed with Chamaecyparis obtusa and silks composite-dyed with Chamaecyparis obtusa and Rubia tinctorum show a high level on dry cleaning, ultraviolet protection and deodorization. Especially, the dyed silks from leaves of Chamaecyparis obtusa show a 99.7% antimicrobial effect against staphylococcus aureus ATCC 653B. Silks composite-dyed with Chamaecyparis obtusa and Rubia tinctorum are better known for medicinal herb for dermatitis, and natural colorant, Rubia tinctorum does not improve significantly functions compared with silks dyed with Chamaecyparis obtusa. However, the dyeing properties improve by composite dyeing. This implies that ways to maximize effects of tie-dyeing technique could be developed.

        위의 양성 및 전암성 병변에서 Telomerase 활성화와 Helicobacter pylori 감염의 연관성

        Background/Aims: It has been considered that motor abnormalities of the oropharynx might play a role in the pathogenesis of oropharyngeal dysphagia. This study aimed to evaluate the motility change in patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia using circumferential solid state manometry. Methods: Nineteen patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia and 12 healthy volunteers of similar age underwent circumferential solid state manometry and lateral videofluoroscopic studies to assess oropharyngeal motility. The patients were divided into 3 groups by videofluoroscopic findings: group 1, patients with delayed oral transit; group 2, patients with increased pharyngeal residue; group 3, patients with aspiration alone. Results: The group 2 showed less upper esophageal sphincter relaxation and lower amplitude of hypopharyngeal contractions. The time interval from the onset of hypopharyngeal contractions to the onset of complete upper esophageal sphincter relaxation was delayed in the group 3. Post-swallow aspiration was caused by high pharyngeal residue in patients with oropharyngeal dysphagia. Conclusions: These results suggest that a high pharyngeal residue is related to a weak contraction of the hypopharynx, and aspiration is related to a slowed swallow response, presumably with delayed laryngeal closure.         곰보배추 추출물로 염색한 면직물의 자외선 차단율, 소취성 및 항균성

        This study examined the stainability and functionality of cotton dyed with the extract of Salvia Plebia R. Br. as a research preceding the development of health functional materials and fashion products with a healing motif. The CIELAB measurements of the cotton fabric dyed with the extract of Salvia Plebia R. Br. showed 73.32 for L*, 1.7 for a*, and 37.78 for b*, while the Munsell measurements exhibited 2.63Y in color, 7.18 of brightness, and 5.49 of chroma. The degree of staining resulting from color fastness to laundering, and that resulting from color fastness to perspiration (acid and alkaline), as well as the level of color fastness to crocking (wet and dry) all stayed between relatively higher levels of 4 and 5. The fabric dyed also exhibited SPF 50+, an outstanding sun blocking performance. The deodorization rate was also excellent, rising from 97% to over 99% when the time elapsed increased from 30 minutes to 120 minutes. The fabric dyed also showed a 99.6% antimicrobial activity against staphylococcus aureus ATCC 6538, and a 71.4% antimicrobial activity against Klebsiella pneumoniae ATCC 4352. The aforementioned findings indicate that fabrics dyed with the extract of Salvia Plebia R. Br. contain the potential to be developed for use as health-related materials and fashion products that promote healing.

        박멸은 역류성 식도염을 악화시키는가 ?

        Background/Aims: There is little information on the effect of Helicobacter pylori (H.pylori) eradication in patients with reflux esophagitis (RE). This study was performed to investigate the effect of H. pylori eradication in patients with and without RE. Methods: We retrospectively reviewed 217 patients with H. pylori infection who received upper endoscopy and biopsies between March 1997 and February 2000. Among them, 77 patients with RE and 140 patients without RE were involved in this study. Their H. pylori infection was assessed by rapid urease test and histology. RE was graded according to Savary-Miller classification. Results: Forty-three of 77 patients with RE and the 140 patients without it were treated by eradication regimen (omeprazole 20 mg, amoxicillin 1 g, clarithromycin 500 mg, twice daily) for 14 days. In 37 of the 43 patients with RE and 115 of the 140 patients without RE, H.pylori was eradicated successfully. Among the patients with RE, there was no significant difference in the course of the RE between the eradicated group and the non-eradicated group. However, RE was newly developed after H. pylori eradication in 12.1% (14 of 140) of the patients without RE. Conclusions: H. pylori eradication may not deteriorate RE in the patients with RE.         특발성 성인성 담관감소증 1 예

        Idiopathic adulthood ductopenia (IAD), named about 10 years ago, is a chronic cholestatic entity of unknown origin that affects predominantly young and middle-aged adult. IAD should be considered in patients with ductopenia who manifest cholestatic liver disease of unknown cause. Ductopenia is characterized by the ratio of interlobular and septal bile ducts to the portal tract less than 0.5. We recently experienced one case in a 28-year-old woman who presented with pruritus and jaundice. Laboratory findings revealed intrahepatic cholestasis and negative results in all serological markers of viral hepatitis and circulating autoantibodies. Endoscopic retrograde cholangiography showed normal cholangiogram. Histological examination of two liver specimens showed severe canalicular cholestasis and ductopenia. IAD is very rare, and there has been no report of IAD in Korea. We report a case of idiopathic adulthood ductopenia with a brief review of literature. (Korean J Gastroenterol 2002;39:233-237)

        한국군 군사기지의 민수전환 전략

        세계적으로 각 국가들은 군 현대화를 위해 재정자원의 배분, 연구개발 방향의 재설정, 군수산업의 재구조화, 군부대의 해체, 군사기지의 폐쇄 및 재개발, 잉여무기의 폐기 등 군사부문의 민수전환을 추진하고 있다. 한국 또한 반복되는 국방개혁을 통해 군 현대화를 추진하고 있다. 특히 한국은 장차 주한미군 이전사업, 국방개혁 2020 추진에 따른 부대 통 폐합으로 군사기지의 민수전환 소요가 증가할 것으로 예상된다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 군사기지 민수전환을 성공적으로 실현하기 위한 전략을 도출하기 위해 한국과 미국의 민수전환 사례를 분석하여 군사지기 민수전환을 수행하는 과정의 문제점과 한국에 대한 함의를 찾고자 하였다. Most of countries in the world are stepping up military conversion to achieve military modernization. The issues of military conversion hold reallocation of financial resources, reorientation of R&D, restructuring of military industry, demobilization, base closure and relocation, scrapping of surplus weapons and so on. Also ROK is stepping up military modernization through defense reform. In particular, ROK has the plan to convert bases; transfering U.S. Forces in Korea and conducting the merger and abolition of bases. In this respect, we expect increase of base conversion easily in the future. Therefore, we tried to find the strategy of base conversion that ROK can conduct base conversion with success in this study. So that we analyze cases of base conversion which were conducted in ROK and U.S. Moreover, we extract problems of the process of base conversion in ROK and finally find out substitutes.

        개구리밥 추출물 및 개구리밥과 곰보배추 혼합 추출물로 염색한 면직물의 염색성 및 기능성

        This study looks into the dyeing properties and functionality of cotton fabrics dyed in both the Spirodela polyrhiza extract and the extract resulting from the mixture of Salvia plebeia R. Br. and Spirodela polyrhiza. Since the UVVis Spectrum of the methanol extract of Spirodela polyrhiza shows absorption peaks at 256, 268nm, and 345nm, it can be inferred that the compound that Spirodela polyrhiza contains is a flavonoid. In addition, it can also be presumed that, by analyzing the infrared absorption spectrum of Spirodela polyrhiza, the plant contains flavonoid compounds, just like Salvia plebeia R. Br.. The UV protection factors of the cotton fabrics dyed in both the Spirodela polyrhiza extract and the extract from the mixture of Salvia plebeia R. Br. and Spirodela polyrhiza were 50+, presenting outstanding UV protection factors. The deodorization rate of the cotton dyed in the Spirodela polyrhiza extract was between 30 and 120 minutes, and the rate rose from 92% to 97% as time passed. The deodorization rate of the cotton dyed in the extract from the mixture of Salvia plebeia R. Br. and Spirodela polyrhiza increased from 88% to more than 91%. The result also revealed that overall the fastness of color, including color fastness to washing related to change in color, as well as the color fastness to light of the fabric dyed in the extract from the mixture of the two plants improved, compared to the cloth dyed only in Spirodela polyrhiza extract. Furthermore, the antibacterial activity was also strengthened.
