        間伐 小徑材를 利用한 칼라내츄럴우드의 製造와 그 活用方案

        This study was carried out to make a color natural wood of thinned small diameter tree and of low grade tree impregnated with water born dyes by transpiration. Ascending speed of dyestuffs and the pattern of dyeing along with kind and concentration of dyes. and species of trees were investigated. Furniture and other wood products were made of color natural woods to show the feasible uses of high added value. The results were summarized as follows ‘<br/> <br/> 1. The higher concentration of dyes, the faster ascending speed of dyes. Ascending speed of dyes was<br/> faster in hardwood than softwood.<br/> 2. The color pattern of wood impregnated with dyestuff solution was affected bv anatomical structure of wood species. especially by vessel arrangement type in case of hardwood.<br/> 3. Teak color mixed dyes had a bad effect on ascending rate compared with sole dyes. For the manufacture of better color natural wood. it is necessary to develop the appropriate type and color of dyes.<br/> 4. Color natural wood has high added value and natural color grain and is very useful for furniture making. interior material. object of art. overlaid material for the laminated wood. etc.. Thinned low grade trees can be used to produce color natural wood. Therefore this result can promote thinning and produce<br/> good forestation

        Primary human hepatocytes are used for cell transplantation and bioartificial liver system for supporting patients with intractable liver diseases. Efficient cryopreservation of human hepatocytes is of great interest. To improve the cryopreservation outcome of human hepatocytes, effects of intracellular-type cryopreservation solutions and apoptosis inhibitor were investigated. Hepatocytes were isolated from the resected livers from 10 patients with intrahepatic stones or tumors. Isolated hepatocytes were cryopreserved usingeither culture media with 10% DMSO, CryoStor CS5, or University of Wisconsin(UW) solution with 10% DMSO. CryoStor CS5 significantly improved the post-thaw cell viability assessed by MTT test, the recovery of viable cells, and the plating efficiency compared to the culture media-based solution. UW solution also showed some beneficial effects on the cryopreservation outcome, but the effects were not statistically significant except the improved 24 hours post-thaw viability. On the other hand, inhibition of apoptosis by a pan-caspase inhibitor Z-VAD-fmk showed no effects on the cryopreservation outcome. These results demonstrate the usefulness of the intracellular-type cryopreservation solutions and CryoStor CS5 is superior to UW solution for the cryopreservation of human hepatocytes.

        In this study. we developed an electronic fuel injection system and its sub-systems to replace conventional carburetor for a three-cylinder spark ignition engine.<br/> The effect of intake pipe length on engine performance was studied experimentally using the new fuel supply system. Using cylinder pressure data. combustion characteristics were analyzed. Plenum chamber volume was set 792cc which is close to the engine's displacement volume. Based on simulation results, intake manifold's length from valve seat to plenum chamber entrance was set at four different lengths, 310mm. 330mm, 350mm. 380mm. It was shown from the experiment that both performance and flame stability were good with L=330mm in BMEP fixed condition and WOT condition, showed excellent results.<br/>

        1. The purpose of this action research is to find out the values of the students of an evening girls’ high school: how their value systems and professional senses are formulated. 2. In view of increasing population of the adolescent laborers in Korean society, it is greatly needed to find out their attitudes and readiness for occupation. 3. In order to achieve the purpose of the research, Y Evening Girls’ High School was selected as an sample institution. The reasons are as follows: the first is that the teacher trainees of Soongsil University have been sent to the institution for many years on friendly terms. The second is that the particular interests of the researchers are concerned, especially the coresearcher, Heewon Chang has completed her Ph.D. in Ethnography at the University of Oregon, Oregon, U.S.A. 1989. In her work on the dissertation: “American High School Adolescent life and Ethos: an Ethography,” Chang eagerly wanted to do a similar research on the Korean students in Korea, and to compare Korean students with American students. 4. Various data are collected for this research: primarily on the basis of the Participant Observation and Ethnographic Interviews, and secondarily, on the basis of a Learning- Habits Test, Questionnaire Form, Curriculum and other administrative references. Two different methods of analysis-qualitative method for the primary data and quantitative for the secondary data―have been used. 5. The theoretical background of this research is socialization: (1) a definition and characteristics of socialization, (2) theories of socialization, (3) four characteristics of adolescent behavior, and (4) the important effect each student’s life both at home and at school has on his/her becoming a mature person in the society. 6. The main body of this research is the description of the adolescent life and ethos; through participant observation and ethnographical interview, the findings of the primary sources of their behaviors show their characteristics. Finding I : Academic achievement oriented way of thinking: Because of generally low standards of their academic records in middle school, they had no choice but to attend evening school. It has given them an inferiority complex. Therefore, eager to get a job upon graduation, they have to make desperate efforts to obtain good grades in high school. Finding II : Other―directed and dependent way of thinking: They are heavily dependent on their parents (mother or other related person) economically, and are dependent on friends for help to share their needs, and also have the illusory hope of depending upon a spouse for their future marital life. Finding III : The way of life is uniformly becoming as a nominalist and a fatalist. Suggestions: 1) As they put great emphasis on the result of the evaluation of academic achievement, evening school students are becoming more acutely sensitive in their inferiority complex and in the trends of materialism. Therefore, various sustaining efforts should be provided on the part of the school and parents for the students’ building up preferable attitudes. 2) A bright vision of the future has to be given to the students by developing their potentialities in all aspects of school activities.

        연구논문 : 한국형 인공피부조직을 이용한 탐색적 피부과민성 대체시험법 개발

        Keraskin™-VM, reconstructed human epidermis, was previously investigated for its applicability in development of skin irritation alternative test methods. Considering its expression of various inflammatory mediators, Keraskin™-VM was further evaluated whether it could be useful for development of skin sensitization alternative test method. Keraskin™-VM was incubated 24h in the presence of various skin sensitizing or non-sensitizing test substances followed by collection of culture supernatants. Level of interleukin(IL)-18, a representative pro-inflammatory cytokine, in the supernatants was determined. All the skin sensitizing substances resulted in significantly higher IL-18 levels than the their vehicle control leading to maximum 64-fold, 28-fold, and 85-fold induction of IL-18 expression from 2,4-dintrochlorobenzene, eugenol, and citral, respectively. Among three non-sensitizing test substances (sodium lauryl sulfate, lactic acid, and glycerol), the maximum fold induction of IL-18 was 16 from 0.01% sodium lauryl sulfate. Cell viability was not substantially affected on the magnitude of IL-18 fold induction. Overall, our results suggest the potential usage of Keraskin™-VM for skin sensitization alternative test method.

        피부암 및 피부암 전구증에서의 Acid Stable Trypsin Inhibitor ( ASTI ) 의 발현양상에 관한 연구

        Background: Recently, much attention has been focused on the role of protease inhibitors such as acid stable trypsin inhibitor (ASTI) in the invasive growth of malignant tumors. However, there are no report on expression of ASTI from premalignant and/or malignant skin tumors. Objectives : In the present study the expression of ASTI was investigated in the different type of premalignant and/or, malignant skin tumors in attempt to clarify the relation between the expression of the ASTI and malignancy. Methods : For the detection of ASTI in the tumor tissue, the immunoperoxidase techniques that used mouse antibody raised against highly purified ASTI. The degree of ASTI immunoreactivity was semiquantitatively assessed for staining intensity as the percentage of ASTI-positive cells. Results : ASTI immunoreactivity was detected in most of the premalignant and malignant skin tissues. Especially, ASTI expression was present widespread in squamous cell carcinoma(SCC) with strong cytoplasmic membrane, where as in normal epidermis they were primarily present in the horny layer. The strong staining was the SCC, keratoacanthoma, Bowen's disease, actinic keratosis, basal cell epithelioma, Paget's disease in decreasing order. The significant difference in the staining intensity was observed between SCC and other groups. Conclusion : Results of immunohistochemical studies suggest that the tumor cells themselves could produce ASTI. Considering the suggestion that ASTI is a self protector, inhibitor to proteolytic protease as well as growth-stimulating factor. The present findings may indicate that ASTI expressed in malignant cells may play a role possibly closely associated with tumor development. (Kor J Dermatol 1996;34(2): 179-184)

        Baculovirus 유전자 전달 시스템을 이용한 실험실적 B형 간염모델에서 HBV 유전자 복제 및 발현에 대한 연구

        Purpose: The lack of reliable in vitro infection systems or convenient animal models has hindered the progress of hepatitis B virus (HBV) research and the development of new treatment options. We established an in vitro model of hepatitis B, using recombinant HBV encoding baculovirus, which provided HBV replication and antigens expression in HepG2 cells. The objectives of this study were to characterize the magnitude of HBV expression and the level of replication obtainable in HepG2 cells, to establish the optimum infection and culture conditions of HBV expression and replication. Methods: Replication of a competent HBV genome encoding the baculovirus, RC-HBV-Bac, was generated for delivering the HBV genome to HepG2 cells. HBV replication and antigens expression were determined in relation to the infection and culture conditions. Results: In RC-HBV-Bac infected HepG2 cells, HBsAg, HBeAg and HBcAg were expressed in the cytoplasm and nuclei, and secreted into the medium. HBV replication was evidenced by the presence of a replication complex and covalently closed circular (ccc) DNA in the cytoplasmic fraction of infected cells. The level of HBV expression was directly proportional to the multiplication of RC-HBV-Bac infection. Polyethylene glycol was able to enhance the infection efficiency of the baculovirus to HepG2 cells. High levels of HBV replication were achieved under culture conditions supplemented with dimethyl sulfoxide and a low serum concentration. Conclusion: This in vitro model of hepatitis B, generated by baculovirus gene delivery, represents a simple and flexible system for the study of HBV replication and drug testing.
