        액체질소 냉각 시 임의의 홀을 가진 초전도체의 열응력 해석

        Temperature distributions and thermal stresses were calculated and analyzed to investigate the effect of the artificial holes to the transient behaviors of the superconductors which was cooled in liquid nitrogen. Three dimensional finite element method was used to calculated the transient temperature and thermal stresses in the superconductors. The cooling speed of the superconductors with holes is faster than those without holes. Because the thermal stresses calculated in the superconductors can be relaxed by the distributed holes, the volume of the peak tensile stress decreases during the cooling in liquid nitrogen. If optimal metal, which can maintain the relaxation of thermal stresses, is used to fill and reinforce the artificial holes, the probability of failure of the superconductors may be decreased by the decrease of volume of peak tensile stress.

        시간 경과에 따른 YBCO 초전도 복합체의 포획 자기장 감쇄

        We studied the trapped field properties of bulk Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductors by applying 3 T of the permanent or $Nb_3Ti$ superconducting magnet. The 28 mm circular type of YBCO bulk superconductor was prepared and then hole at the center of bulk, parallel to the c-axis, was mechanically drilled. Typical size of hole in YBCO bulk was 10 mm in diameter. In order to examine the trapped field variation in terms of different impregnated materials, a hole in YBCO bulk was filled with resin and indium respectively. The trapped field decay due to flux flow was determined in terms of time. Our preliminary result indicates the trapped field value measured on the YBCO without hole after 30 minute by applying 3 T, was 6,500 G, which is much higher than that, 4,500 G, measured on YBCO with hole. Also, we confirmed that the tendency of a trapped field decrement with time was almost the same regardless of the impregnated materials in YBCO.

      • 한류기용 Bi2212 튜브의 특성

        For the practical application on SCFCL, Bi2212 tubes were fabricated by Centrifugal Forming Process (CFP) in terms of many different processing parameters. Typical sizes of tubes were 60, 150 mm in length and 2.5, 3.5, 4.8 mm in thickness. Initially powder was melted by induction heating. The optimum range of melting temperatures and preheating temperature were $1100^{\circ}C$ and $500^{\circ}C$ for 30min respectively. The nominal mold rotating speed was around 1000 RPM. A tube was annealed at $840^{\circ}C$ for 80 hours in oxygen atmosphere. The tube of 50mm x 70mm x 2.5mm, rotated with 1000 RPM showed $I_c=890\;A\;and\;T_c=80$. It was found that the tube processed with faster rate of mold rotation speed, thinner tube thickness and shorter tube length shows better electric characteristics as compared with the tube normally processed. In order to study the uniformity heat and fluid flow analysis tool was adopted along tube.

        열처리 공정 변화에 따른 Bi2212/Ag ROSAT 선재의 임계 특성

        We have investigated the effect of different heat treatment processes on electrical and magnetic properties of Bi2212/Ag ROSAT wire. The ROSAT wire was fabricated by stacking and arranging 12 filaments Bi2212/Ag tapes in triple rotation symmetry in a Ag tube. ROSAT wires have been prepared using a partial melting method with changing $T_{max}$ and $T_a$ in oxygen atmosphere. The highest critical current density($J_c$) at 65 K under 0 T was $21,158\;A/cm^2$ for wire prepared $890\;^{\circ}C(T_{max})$ and $840\;^{\circ}C(T_a)$, respectively. SEM results indicated that the wire prepared at $890\;^{\circ}C(T_{max})$ and $840\;^{\circ}C(T_a)$ showed better directional phases than the other samples. However the result of magnetic susceptibility measurement indicates that the wire prepared $890\;^{\circ}C(T_{max})$ and $835\;^{\circ}C(T_a)$ had better superconducting phases than the other samples. It was revealed that heat treatment temperature was important factor for superconducting properties of the ROSAT wire.

        Bi/CNT 화합물과 Resin/CNT를 보강한 YBCO 초전도체의 기계적, 자기적 특성 변화

        Bi/CNT composite and resin/CNT were chosen to improve the mechanical properties of $YBa_2Cu_3O_7$(YBCO) superconductor. In order to elucidate the effects of Bi/CNT composite and resin/CNT in YBCO superconductors, melt texture superconductor were impregnated by mixed compound of Bi and CNT into the artificial holes parallel to the c-axis, which were drilled on the YBCO superconductor. Various amount of Bi/CNT and resin/CNT were impregnated to YBCO superconductor with different holes diameters. Typical artificial holes diameters were 0.5, 0.7, and 1.0 mm respectively. Result of three-point bending test measurement, the bending strength with resin/CNT impregnation was improved up to 59.64 MPa as compared with 50.79 MPa of resin/CNT free bulk. Resin/CNT impregnation has been found to be one of the effective ways in improving the mechanical properties of bulk superconductor.

        ZnO 나노막대가 형성된 STO기판에 증착한 Y-Ba-Cu-O 박막의 미세구조 분석

        For many large-scale applications of high-temperature superconducting materials, large critical current density ($J_c$) in high applied magnetic fields are required. A number of methods have been reported to introduce artificial pinning centers in $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$ films for enhancement of their $J_c$. We studied the microstructures and characteristic of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-{\delta}}$ films fabricated on $SrTiO_3$ (100) substrates with ZnO nanorods as pinning centers. Au catalyst nanoparticles were synthesized on STO substrates with self assembled monolayer to control the number of ZnO nanorods. The density of Au nanoparticles is approximately $240{\sim}260{\mu}m^{-2}$ with diameters of $41{\sim}49nm$. ZnO nanorods were grown on STO by hot-walled PLD with Au nanoparticles. Typical size of ZnO nanorod was around 179 nm in diameter and $2{\sim}6{\mu}m$ in length respectively. YBCO films deposited directly on STO substrates show the c-axis orientation, while YBCO films with ZnO nanorods exhibit any mixed phases without any typical crystal orientation.

        인가 자기장에 의한 YBCO 초전도체 복합체의 포획 자기장 특성

        We have measured the trapped field of YBCO bulk with different configuration by applying the magnetic field of $Nb_3Sn$ superconducting magnet. Initially the circular type of YBCO bulk superconductor was prepared and then hole, parallel to the c-axis and located at the center of bulk was mechanically drilled. The YBCO bulk with hole was filled with resin. Typical size of hole in YBCO bulk was 10 mm in diameter. Trapped field characteristics were compared with different specimen conditions. Our preliminary result indicates the increment rate of trapped field, 0.232 kG, measured on the YBCO without hole was much higher than that, 0.011 kG, measured on YBCO with hole.

      • 몰드 디자인과 냉각조건이 Bi2212 초전도튜브에 미치는 영향

        For the practical application on SCFCL(Superconducting fault current limiters), Bi-2212 tubes were fabricated by Centrifugal Forming Process(CFP). The tubes were annealed at 830, 840, $850^{\circ}C$, respectively for 80 hours in oxygen atmosphere. The tubes heat treated at $840^{\circ}C$ demonstrated better electric characteristics than the tubes heat treated at 830 and $850^{\circ}C$. The typical value measured at 77 K in the self field was around 556 A. In terms of cooling effect on superconducting properties, it was found the electrical properties were quite dependent on the mold design and shapes. In order to check uniformity along the tube, EFDLab fur heat and fluid analysis of NIKA was adopted. It was found out that the simulation data was quite well matched with experimental results.

      • Resin, Ag를 첨가한 YBCO 초전도체의 기계, 자기적 특성 변화

        We studied the mechanical and magnetic properties of Y-Ba-Cu-O superconductor with and without resin and Ag impregnation. Bulk YBCO superconductor was manufactured with the top-seeded melt-growth method. Typical sample of 40mm X 20mm X 3mm was made and then 8 holes with 0.5mm diameter were drilled arbitrally. Epoxy resin and $AgNO_3$ were systematically added into the holes to compare the mechanical and magnetic properties of YBCO superconductor before and after reinforcement of resin and Ag. Based on the result of 3 point bending, bending strength increased with increasing amounts of resin and carbon nano-tube. However, it was found that the levitation force decreased after making hole, compared with virgin sample without hole.

        나노입자 마스크를 이용하여 제작한 초소수성 마이크로-나노 혼성구조

        소수성 고분자를 사용하여 제작한 마이크로구조에 금 나노입자를 마스크로 이용하는 반응성이온식각(RIE: Reactive Ion Etching)을 적용하여 초소수성을 갖는 마이크로-나노 혼성구조를 제작하였다. 소수성 고분자로는 PFPE (perfluoropolyether bisurethane methacrylate)를 사용하였으며 마이크로 단일구조는 PDMS (polydimethylsiloxane) 몰드를 사용하는 스탬핑 방식으로 제작하였다. 다양한 형태로 제작한 PFPE 마이크로 단일구조와 마이크로-나노 혼성구조의 표면 접촉각을 측정하여 표면 미세구조에 따른 소수성의 변화를 관찰하였다. 마이크로 단일구조의 경우 접촉각은 안정적인 값을 보이지 못하였으나 단일 구조에 나노입자를 사용한 식각을 적용해 나노구조가 형성됨에 따라 $150^{\circ}$ 이상의 접촉각을 갖는 초소수성 표면이 매우 높은 재현성으로 용이하게 형성되었다. Superhydrophobic micro-nano hybrid structures were fabricated by reactive ion etching of hydrophobic polymer micro patterns using gold nanoparticles as etch masks. Micro structures of perfluoropolyether bisurethane methacrylate (PFPE) were prepared by soft-lithographic technique using polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) molds. Water contact angles on the surfaces of various PFPE micro structures and corresponding micro-nano hybrid structures were compared to examine the effects of micro patterning and nanostructure formation in the manifestation of superhydrophobicity. The PFPE micro-nano hybrid structures exhibited a very stable superhydrophobicity, while the micro-only structures could not reach the superhydrophobicity but only showed the unstable hydrophobicity.
