BACKGROUND: Green peach aphid (Myzus persicae) is an insect pest that significantly affects crop production. A number of pesticides have been used for aphid control, but their concerns on insect resistance and food safety have required alternative methods for pest management. In an effort to find for an alternative approach to aphid control, we screened plants extracts and examined their potentiality as insecticidal bio-resources. METHODS AND RESULTS: Two hundred and ninety eight plant extracts were examined for insecticidal activity against the aphid, and the best candidate among them was chosen for further study. The extracts from Cinnamomum camphora was determined to be the best candidate exhibiting insecticidal activity more than 60% at a level of 1,000 ㎍/mL. GC/MS analyses detected camphor, borneol, 4-terpineol, α-terpineol and caryophyllene oxide as major compositions from the extracts obtained by hydrodistillation. Caryophyllene oxide exhibited the highest insecticidal activity with a LC<sub>50</sub> value of 237 ㎍/mL. Camphor lowered significantly the LC<sub>50</sub> value of caryophyllene oxide and increased largely its concentration in aphid, suggesting that camphor played a role in enhancing the insecticidal activity of caryophyllene oxide. CONCLUSION: This study suggested that camphor and caryophyllene oxide may be used as an insecticidal bio-resource for insect control against green peach aphid.
Pseudomonas sp. EP-3에 의한 진딧물 살충성 rhamnolipid 생산을 위한 유자씨앗 부산물의 재활용

BACKGROUND: Yuza seed by-product has been produced in a large amount from the agricultural farms in the southern area of Korea. It has been mostly abandoned after commercial process for the production of juice, jam and tea. The study on the reuse of the yuza seed by-product has received much attention as a bio-resource material for the production of active compound in agriculture. METHODS AND RESULTS: Insecticidal rhamnolipid-producing Pseudomonas sp. EP-3was grown in mineral salt media with the yuza seed by-product at 2, 20, 50 and 100 g/L. The growth of EP-3was accompanied by a increase in insecticidal activity against green peach aphid. The highest insecticidal activity was observed when EP-3was grown in the medium containing 50 g/L of the seed sample, producing approximately 996mg/L of rhamnolipid at 96 h. Palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid and linoleic acid were determined as the major fatty acids of the seed sample. The EP-3 cultures grown on the fatty acid mixture extracted from the seed sample showed a aphid mortality similar to that of cultures grown on the seed sample. The EP-3 cultures grown on 50 g/L of the seed sample showed aphid mortality more than 90%under greenhouse conditions. CONCLUSION: This study suggested that the yuza seed by-product may be used as a renewable material for microbial production of rhamnolipid against green peach aphid.

정보ㆍ통신기술의 급격한 발전으로 인해 온라인 시장은 매우 빠른 속도로 성장하고 있다. 따라서 오프라인 시장과는 다른 행태를 보이는 온라인 시장의 고객 구매 패턴과 온라인 시장의 특성에 대한 보다 면밀한 연구가 필요하다. 일반적으로 온라인 시장의 소비자는 오프라인 시장의 소비자보다 의사결정의 변화성이 심하기 때문에 온라인 시장에 참여하고 있는 기업들은 온라인 고객의 구매 패턴을 파악하고 그에 맞게 적절한 전략을 취해야 한다. 특히 재고관리의 관점에서 보면, 온라인 시장에서는 고객의 주문취소 또는 반품이 오프라인 시장보다 빈번하게 발생하므로 온라인 시장에 참여하고 있는 기업들은 합리적인 재고관리를 위해서 주문취소 및 반품을 보다 중요한 요소로 고려해야 한다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 기존 주문취소를 다루었던 연구들에서 보편적으로 사용되는 ‘주문취소를 고려하여 실제 주문의 도착률을 수정하여 사용하는 방법’과 ‘주문취소율을 하나의 파라미터로 설정하여 실제 주문과 주문취소율을 동시에 고려하는 방법’의 특성을 비교하고자 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구에서는 도착과정(수요, 주문취소, 반품)은 확률적으로 발생하는 마코프 과정(Markov process)이라고 가정하여 재고모형을 구축한 후, 연속조사와 주기조사(continuous review and periodic review) 두 경우에 대해 재고 시스템의 사이클 타임의 확률분포와 기댓값을 도출한다. The scale of on-line market is growing rapidly by radical change of information and communication technologies. So, it would be necessary to investigate behaviors of purchasing patterns of online customers as well as characteristics of on-line market. Usually, since consumers of on-line market compared to those of off-line market change their decisions frequently the companies involved in on-line market should figure out the purchasing patterns of on-line customers and then establish various strategies suitable for the current situation. In particular, from the inventory control point of view, the companies involved in on-line market must consider the order cancellation and returns of products as one of the most important factors due to frequent changes of customers' decisions for efficient inventory control. In this research, we compare the performances of two methods: (i) method which modifies the real arrival rate of order with considering order cancellations or returns and (ii) method which consider both rates of order and order cancellations or returns simultaneously without modification of the real arrival rate. For this, we investigate the inventory system with stochastic demands, returns, and cancellations. We construct an inventory model with Markovian arrival processes of demands and order cancellations(or returns) and derive the probability distribution and expectation of length of the cycle-time for both continuous review and periodic review cases. And then, we compare the expected values and variances of cycle time of the modified method and the suggested method.

Cough syncope is characterized by the loss of consciousness occurring after vigorous coughings. There are approximately 90 reported cases of cough syncope within the medical literature. Most cases involving middle aged, overweight and chronic bronchitic male smokers. Although many studies have been published in the medical literature, the mechanism and pathophysiology for cough syncope has not been well established. Cough syncope is treated by correcting the underlying cause when identified, or by avoiding conditions that may cause the cough syncope. In addition, cough suppression modalities can also be used. We herein report 3 cases of cough syncope presenting in lung cancer patients.
지적분야 신기술 적용을 위한 3차원 공간정보 관련 규정의 고찰

4차 산업혁명의 흐름에 따라 3차원 공간정보에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 신기술이 적용되고 있다. 이에 따라 지적분야에 3차원 공간정보의 효율적인 신기술 적용을 위해 3차원 공간정보 국내 외의 관련 규정의 현황 및 3차원 공간정보에 대한 신기술의 현황을 살펴보고 지적분야에 적용될 수 있는 3차원 공간정보 관련 규정의 개선 방향을 다음과 같이 제시하였다. 첫째, 신기술에 대한 3차원지적의 구축 및 활용에 따른 작업규정의 작업방법 부분의 개정이 우선적으로 실행되어야 한다. 둘째, 3차원의 품질은 작업의 시간, 경제성, 활용성 등의 측면에서 많은 비중을 차지하고 있다. 이에 효율적으로 3차원 공간정보를 활용하기 위해서는 측량, 지적, 가시화 정보 등 3차원 공간정보를 활용하는 용도에 따른 품질 부분에 대한 규정이 개선되어야 한다. As the interest of 3D spatial information increases with the trend of the 4th industrial revolution, new technology is applied. Therefore, in order to apply the new technology of 3D space information efficiently to the intellectual field, it is necessary to examine the status of the related regulations of domestic and foreign 3D spatial information and the state of the new technology to 3D spatial information, The direction of improvement of the regulation is as follows. First, revision of working method part of working regulation according to the construction and utilization of 3D cadastre of new technology should be implemented first. Secondly, 3D quality has a great importance in terms of time, economical efficiency and usability of work. Therefore, in order to utilize 3D spatial information efficiently, the regulations on the quality part according to the use of 3D spatial information such as surveying, intellectual, and visualization information should be improved.
동시성으로 발생한 폐 편평세포암종과 흉곽내 광범위큰B세포림프종 1예

동시성 다발성 중복암의 경우 각각의 암종별 병기 설정과 치료 계획을 결정하기 어려운 경우가 많다. 특히 폐암과 비호지킨림프종 모두 종격동과 폐문 림프절을 침범할 수 있기때문에, 이 두 암종이 동시에 공존하는 경우는 폐암의 병기를 결정 짓기 어렵다. 본 증례는 국내에서 동시성으로 발생한 편평상피세포 폐암과 종격동 림프종을 진단한 첫 번째 보고로써, 조직학적 확인의 중요성과 동시 다발성 중복암의 가능성을 간과해서는 안됨을 제시하고 있다. 이에 저자들은 우측 흉수를 주소로 내원한 65세 남자에서 기관지경 생검 및 초음파 유도하 경기관지 세침흡인술을 통해 폐의 편평세포암종과 흉곽의 광범위큰B세포림프종이 동시성으로 발생한 중복암을 진단한 1예를 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다. A 65-year-old male was referred to our hospital for evaluation of a right pleural effusion. Thoracic computed tomography (CT) revealed a huge central mass with right hilar and subcarinal lymph node conglomerates. An endobronchial mass was incidentally found in the right upper lobe bronchus, and endobronchial ultrasound-guided transbronchial needle biopsy of the mediastinal lymph nodes was thus also performed at the time of bronchoscopy. The two biopsies revealed squamous cell carcinoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL), respectively. As the pathology of the mediastinal lymph nodes was unknown, the lung cancer could not be accurately staged. Thus, we treated the DLBCL; follow-up positron emission tomography/CT after two cycles of chemotherapy showed that the conglomerate mass had disappeared but the right upper lobe lesion remained. Lung cancer staging thus became more accurate and radical treatment could be considered. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first report of a co-existing squamous cell carcinoma of the lung and DLBCL of the intrapulmonary lymph nodes. (Korean J Med 2018;93:300-305)

Most malignant mesenchymal tumors of the lung are metastases of a primary tumor from elsewhere in the body. A primary pulmonary synovial sarcoma is a very rare neoplasm that accounts for approximately 10% of soft tissue sarcomas and makes up only 0.5% of all primary lung malignancies. We report a case of a primary pulmonary synovial sarcoma in a 60-year old woman. In this case, a lung metastasis was excluded using 18F-FDG PET/CT imaging. (Tuberc Respir Dis 2006; 60: 673-677)
