This paper presents a new register transfer level synthesis methodology for efficient SOC system design. The previous register transfer level synthesis systems first translate from a hardware description language to sequential circuits inadequately. Secondly, the systems separate registers and combinational circuits and then optimize only combinational circuits. This paper describes their disadvantages and then proposes a new method to overcome their shortcomings. This paper also shows the effectiveness of the proposed method by using the proposed method at designing the controller of a surveillance system. 본 논문에서는 효율적인 SOC 전송 설계를 위한 새로운 레지스터 전송 단계 합성 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 레지스터 전송 단계 합성기들은, 하드웨어 기술 언어로 기술된 설계 사양을 순서회로로 변환하는 과정에서 불합리한 변환을 수행하고 순서 회로를 최적화 하는 과정에서 순서회로를 구성하는 레지스터와 조합회로를 분리하여 조합회로 부만을 최적화 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 방식의 레지스터 전송 단계 합성기들이 가지는 단점을 지적하고, 이런 단점을 극복하기 위한 새로운 레지스터 전송 단계 합성 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 제안된 방법을 감시용 시스템의 컨트롤러 설계에 적용한 결과를 제시함으로써 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법의 유용성을 입증한다.
디자인 스튜디오 교육을 위한 CALM 시스템 개발에 관한 연구

The high-tech computer technology developments have greatly affected the area of design education. Starting from the mid 80s, innovations in visual presentation methods have heightened with 2D computer graphic programs, CAD & 3D modeling, and Rapid Prototype that allows dimensional generation. The specialty and quality in design studio education have advanced due to the development in presentation methods such as Power Point and Keynote. But there are many problems with the current method of presenting the visual outcome in a data format using beam projectors, which is a vertical presenting method compared to the old studio study method of conducting discussions and reviews based on the substantial outcome. The essence of studio study that allows for comparisons and analysis by horizontally opening up the various work outcomes is being offset. Also the requirement for manual idea sketching work that plays an important role in the initial design phase continuing to decrease due to the digital working process dependence and cumbersome procedures in the presentation. In order to resolve this problem, the CALM system (Class Applied LCD Modular System) has been developed that replaces the method of attaching the sketches or renderings on the wall with a digital multi-display system. In a nutshell, individuals will upload the outcomes online and display them on the CALM system studio that is composed of 32 LCD (Columns: 4 X Rows: 8) monitors that are 19 inches in size so that various personnel can openly study the design outcomes. Also the central 42 inch PDP monitor that offers touch pad capability allows each design outcome to be described and examined by expanding. The concept phase of this development process has elevated to the production of an operating prototype that is being reviewed of its practicality. It is considered that the development of this system will decrease the extreme tendency of depending on digital operation but achieve revitalization of a more realistic and opened studio study environment compared to the individual consulting method of the old study approach.

To develope oxidation catalysts for diesel vehicles the effects of precious metals and additives on the removal of PM(particulate matter) were investigated. The precious metals studied were Pt and seventeen kinds of additives were used. From synthetic gas tests, the influence of the important catalyst design parameters on catalytic performance of gaseous emissions and PM was evaluated. 'The experimental results showed that the most effective additives on the suppression of the sulfate formation were V₂O_5and Cr₂O₃. Catalytic performance was greatly changed by mutual loading amounts of precious metals and additives. Pt30 catalyst(Pt loading : 30 g/ft3) containing V₂O_5 of 1 g/ℓ revealed the best selective oxidation performance.<br/>

본 논문에서는 기존의 레지스터 전송 단계 합성기들이 가지고 있는 단점을 개선하는 새로운 레지스터 전송 단계 합성 방법을 제안한다. 기존의 레지스터 전송 단계 합성기들은, 하드웨어 기술 언어로 기술된 설계 사양을 순서회로로 변환하는 과정에서 불합리한 변환을 수행하고 순서 회로를 최적화 하는 과정에서 순서회로를 구성하는 레지스터와 조합회로를 분리하여 조합회로부만을 최적화 한다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 방식의 레지스터 전송 단계 합성기들이 가지는 단점을 지적하고, 이런 단점을 극복하기 위한 새로운 레지스터 전송 단계 합성 방법을 제안한다. 또한, 제안된 방법을 감시용 시스템의 콘트롤러 설계 및 8 비트 부호화 곱셈기에 적용한 결과를 제시함으로써 본 논문에서 제안하는 방법의 유용성을 입증한다. This paper presents a new register transfer level synthesis method to overcome the disadvantages of the previous register transfer level synthesis systems. The previous register transfer level synthesis systems first translate from a hardware description language to sequential circuits inadequately. Secondly, the systems separate registers and combinational circuits and then optimize only combinational circuits. This paper describes their disadvantages and then proposes a new method to overcome their shortcomings. This paper also shows the effectiveness of the proposed method by using the proposed method at designing the controller of a surveillance system and the 8-bit signed multiplier.
