A case report of a Phantom Limb Pain (PLP) patient treated with integrative Korean and Western medicine

Objectives : We report a case of Phantom Limb Pain (PLP) and propose the possibility of integrative Korean and Western medicine in PLP treatment. Methods : For 42 days, a patient who complained of pain and insomnia with PLP (December 20, 2016 to January 20, 2017) received Korean and Western medical treatment. The patient was treated with analgesic injection, a neuropathic pain inhibitor, the combined herbal formula powders Bojungikgitang, and acupuncture. Symptom improvement was assessed using the numerical rating scale (NRS) and continuous sleep time. Results : The patient’s NRS scores decreased, and continuous sleep time increased after treatment. The NRS scores decreased from 10 to 0, and the continuous sleep time increased from 2 hours to 7 to 8 hours. Conclusion : According to the results, this report suggests that integrative Korean and Western medicine could be effective in the treatment of PLP patients.

Nowadays, Various products satisfying Consumer's requirements have been developed, and "Korean style" is all the fashion in electric home appliance circles in the campaign to keep the traditional Korean spirit and Culture. Various products that are designed for Korean's traditional life style and Character have been developed; Watering vaccume cleaner, boiling washing machine refrigerator for Kim-Chi only etc. These developments have drawn a distinction between products from korea and products from foreign Countries against the opening of the distribution market and boomed by the consumer's requirement of Korean style products that are designed for domestic Consumers and Korean life style. Considering the interest in Korean style, life habits that Can be ignored in daily life, food Culture and tastes etc, design development will Continue to rise. For example, Let's think about the Culture of "Korean traditional Cake" that is necessary for special days;fete day and religious service day. These days We don't eat "korean Cake" so ofter because of an over flow of instant food and Confectioneries. But many people go to the mill to avoid troubles of making Cake, going to the Mill Can be a trouble in itself. So. We need a new design development to help us to enjoy making cake and to have more Convenience in our life by developing the cake machine that even We can use conveniently at home. Therefore In this study, I will explain the cake machine that we can use conveniently at home by researching the problems in making traditional Korean cake and by improving the machine to fit into the modern life style.

반복적인 전침 처치의 척수 교세포 활성 억제를 통한 신경병증성 통증 억제 효과

Objectives: Effects of repetitive electroacupuncture(EA) on the pain behavior and activation of spinal glial cells were examined in the rat model of neuropathic pain. Methods: Twenty one adult male Sprague-Dawley rats were randomly assigned into 3 groups(control group, SP6 group, ST36+GB34 group). Neuropathic pain was induced by tight ligation of L5 spinal nerve. Mechanical and thermal hypersensitivity of hind paw were tested. Immunohistochemistry was performed in spinal cord L5/6 of all groups. EA was treated once in a day from the 5th day after surgery. Results: EA treatments applied to ST36 and GB34 reduced significantly both of mechanical and thermal hypersensitivity after 3 times of treatment throughout the experiments. In the SP6 group, the analgesic effect was also shown after 7 times of treatment. Immunohistochemistry demonstrated inhibition of microglia and astrocyte activation in the spinal cord L5/6 dorsal horn in the ST36+GB34 group. Conclusions: The present results suggest that repetitive EA exert strong analgesic effect on neuropathic pain. These analgesic effects in neuropathic pain are associated with suppressing the activation of microglia and astrocyte.

원공을 가지는 복합재 적층판의 인장강도 예측 기법

전통적인 특성길이 방법을 이용하여 원공이 있는 복합재 적층판의 강도를 예측하기 위해서는 원공이 있는 적층뿐만 아니라 원공이 없는 적층판에 대한 시험 결과와 유한요소해석이 필요하였다. 본 논문에서는 응력집중계수와 재료상수를 이용하여 유한요소해석 없이 복합재 적층판 원공 주위의 응력분포 및 인장특성길이를 추정하고, 이를 바탕으로 원공이 있는 복합재 적층판의 인장강도를 예측할 수 있는 방법을 제안하였다. 또한 새로운 방법에서는 재료의 효과가 변수로 고려되므로 다양한 재료에 대한 적용이 가능하며 원공이 있는 복합재 적층판에 대한 시험도 생략할 수 있다. 적층판 주위의 응력분포는 유한요소해석과의 비교를 통해 검증하였고, 최종적으로는 USN125 탄소/에폭시 적층판을 제작하여 파손하중 예측 결과와 시험 결과를 비교하였다. 원공이 있는 다양한 형상의 복합재 적층판의 파손강도 예측 결과는 최대 8% 이내의 오차로 시험 결과와 잘 일치함을 확인하였다. The characteristic length method used to determine a laminate`s strength generally requires the test for un-notched and notched laminates and finite element analysis together. In this paper, the methods used to predict the stress distribution and tensile characteristic length of open-hole laminates using the stress concentration factor and equivalent material properties are proposed. These methods do not require data on the failure load of open-hole laminates or finite element analysis. Once the stress and characteristic length have been determined, the failure load of the open-hole laminate can be calculated. The proposed method considers the effect of the material properties as a parameter and therefore can be applied to a variety of materials. The stress distribution is verified by comparing with a finite element analysis and test results. The predicted failure load shows a maximum deviation of 8% from the test results.

맞벌이 부부를 위한 System kitchen에 관한 연구

Recently, Science, technology and industrial development have brought about many Changes in society and Culture. The number of dual-income families has increased due to the Change of their sense of Value of life style and anincrease in the number of Woman Who go into the society. In the traditional view-point, it is Common for Women to do household affairs and to take care of Chidren, but because of the improvement of women's education and social participation, the number of women who want to keep their jobs after getting married tends to increase. According to the increase of the number of dual-income families who have to do household affairs and their jobs Simultaneously. Many couples think the husband must share their household affairs with his wife. Consequently, I think the system Kitchen should be developed so that the Couples can do household affairs together. Therefore this study was focused on design so that dual-income families, most of them are in their 20's 30's and living in apartments, Can use the Kitchen more reasonably and Can use the Kitchen as a delightful space.

영지약침과 왕뜸 복합치료의 복부비만 개선사례: 증례보고

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of Ganoderma lucidum pharmacopuncture and moxibustion on abdominal obesity. Five women with abdominal obesity were treated 6 times in 2 weeks with Ganoderma lucidum pharmacopuncture on abdominal fat followed by 30 minutes of moxibustion on abdominal area. Before treatment and after 6 treatments were finished, body weight, body mass index, body fat mass, waist circumference, hip circumference and waist-hip ratio were measured. After all treatments, all average measured values were reduced. Body weight and body mass index were reduced by 0.34 kg and 0.46 kg/m2 respectively. Also, waist circumference and waist-hip ratio were reduced by 4.52 cm and 0.04 respectively. We suppose combined therapy of Ganoderma lucidum pharmacopuncture and moxibustion might be a time-effective treatment for abdominal obesity.

문화비교를 통한 제품디자인의 경향분석 : 유럽, 일본, 한국의 생활용품디자인의 형태, 색, 선을 중심으로

문화를 파는 시대의 도래'란 말처럼 기술이나 기능이 전 세계적으로 보편화되고 있는 가운데 디자인의 역할이 단순히 외관뿐 만 아닌 소비자의 감성이나 만족에 더 많은 비중을 두게 되었고, 특히 그 나라마다 혹은 지역마다의 고유한 문화적 특성을 배경으로 한 문화적 상품의 개발이야말로 디자인의 국제 경쟁력을 높이고 질을 높이는데 기여할 것이 분명해진다. 최근의 디자인이 문화 현상으로 인식되면서 자아 실현과 같은 지적 만족을 추구하는 소비 패턴으로 변하고 있으며 따라서 생활의 질적 향상 및 정신적 문화적 만족이 새로운 목표가 되고 있다. 즉, 세계화 시대에 국가 경쟁력을 갖추기 위하여는 새로운 기술 습득과 개발의 노력 못지 않게 자국의 독특한 감각으로 차별화를 꾀하고 그 나라의 역사와 문화성을 상품에 접목시켜 상품의 부가가치를 높이는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 각국의 문화 비교를 통하여 '이태리적 ' '일본적' '한국적'이라는 문화적 의미를 생활용품에 나타난 디자인으로부터 추출하여 나라마다의 독특한 형태, 선, 색채의 특성을 파악하고자 하였다. Nowadays, it is worldwide common sense to say the technology and function as the time to sell culture itself. Which means the people think of customer's emotion and satisfaction to be more important as well as product's appearance. Specially, it makes clear to quality up with excellent competition when people develope design of the products with unique background of its country. Currently, the consumer trend have been changed to Intellectual persuit and self-realization with the design to be cultural trend. And its new goal has passed for taking new technology and upgrade of life standard. Making valuable worth with unique culture and historical specification is quite important when we want to have good competition compared to other countries. So, we tried to find the color specification and unique line from the common design with using the Italian, Japanese, Korean original culture.

형방도적산가미방(荊防導赤散加味方) 투여로 치료한 소양인 결흉증(少陽人 結胸證)으로 변증된 간기능 수치 이상 소견을 보인 환자 증례 보고 3례

Objectives: This case study reports on improvements after treating patients who had abnormal liver function values in Soyangin gyolhyungjeung with Soyangin hyeongbangdojeok-san-gami.Methods: The study was carried out with three patients who showed abnormal liver function values in Soyangin gyolhyungjeung. Liver function tests (LFT) and numerical rating scales (NRS) were used to evaluate symptoms.Results: After we treated three patients with Soyangin hyeongbangdojeok-san-gami, their symptoms and LFT results had improved considerably.Conclusions: Soyangin hyeongbangdojeok-san-gami appears to have a useful effect on abnormal liver function values in Soyangin gyolhyungjeung. Further clinical studies are needed to verify these findings.
