In order to survey the prevalence of parasites in soil from playground in a housing development testate, 368 samples were taken from playground 184 unit. The survey was carried out during 2 months from september in 1999 to October in 1999. The results were obtained as follows; 1. Eggs of toxocara canis were detected in 25 samples (6.8%) from 368 cases of playground. 2. The 3 kinds of eggs were isolated from the soil of playground. Those were strongyloides spp 13.9%, toxocara canis 6.8% and toxascaris leonina 2.4%. 3. It was mixed infestation such as single (80.0%) and double (20.0%).

A total of 1,024 sera were collected from cattle(227), pigs(465), chickens(257) and dogs(75) raised or slaughtered in Daejeon metropolitan city from April to September 2002. Japanese enceplvlitis virus(JEV) antibodies in sera were detected by the haemagglutination inhibition test. The prevalence rates of JEV antibodies were 99.1%, 54.0%, 63.0% and 98.7% in cattle, pigs, chickens and dogs, respectively. In case of cattle and dogs, the monthly antibody-positive rates were as high as 85.7-100.0% and there were no differences among six months. In case of pigs, the monthly antibody-positive rate showed the lowest in April(6.4%) and the highest in July(100.0%) and it remained above 50% during the summer-time. In case of chickens, the monthly antibody-positive rate was 100.0% in July & August, 80.5% in June, 40.0% in May, 7.5% in September and 5.0% in April in order and there were distinct differences in seasons.

To evaluate the hypoglycemic effect of propolis, streptozotocin (STZ) induced diabetic rats were divided into 4 groups such as, diabetic control group, low dose of propolis (0.1 ml) group, medium dose of propolis (0.3 ml) group and high dose of propolis (0.9 ml) group and feeded with propolis extracts for 30 days. After experiment, oral glucose tolerance test (Oral GTT) was carried, and 16 hours fasting blood sugar levels, body weights, blood lipid levels were measured. Finally, pancreatic histopathological study was performed. In conclusion, the propolis is effective to the treatment diabetes due to the reduction of the blood sugar level and the regeneration of the damaged $\beta$-cells shown in streptozotocininduced diabetic rats.

Objective & Methods: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of Cistanches Herba herbal-acupuncture (CH-HA) at KI10 (Umgok) on osteoporosis induced by ovariectomy in mice. The results were as follows; Results: CH-HA at KI10 significantly inhibited the overgrowth of tibia, the elevation of serum osteocalcin Level, the reduction of tibial Ca and P Level, the increase of tibial osteoclast Like cells, the reduction of tibial TBV (trabecular bone volume), the overgrowth of tibial GPL (growth plate Length) in ovariectomized mice. NP at KI10 significantly inhibited the reduction of BMD (bone mineral density) in ovariectomized mice, but CH-HA did not. Conclusion: Taken together, CH-HA at KI10 has a protective or therapeutic effect for osteoporosis in ovariectomized mice. Therefore, it is suggested that CH-HA may be an useful therapeutics in clinical filed after further researches.

The survey was carried out during 3 months from July in 2000 to september in 2000. The results were obtained as follows: 1. Eggs of Toxocara canis were detected in 30 samples (18.5%) from 162 cases of playground. 2. The 3 kinds of eggs were isolated from the soil of playground. Those were Strongyloides spp 23.5%, Toxocara canis 18.5% and Trichuris vulpis 4.3%. 3. It was mixed infestation such as single (74.5%), double (23.7%) and triple(1.6%).

In order to survey the prevalence of Toxocara canis in soil of playground in a detached dwelling area, 150 samples were taken from playground 50 unit. The survey was carried out during 3 months from July to September in 2006. The Egg of Toxocara canis were detected in 6 samples(4.0%) from 150 cases of playground. The prevalence of T canis by month was 6.0% in July, 4.0% in August, 2.0% in September, respectively. This study results suggested that the prevalence of T canis were decreased in 2006 compared to 18.5% (30 positive/162 samples) in 2000.

In this paper, the rotational loss of the superconductor flywheel energy storage system (SFES) by motor/generator stator core was assessed. To do this, the vertical axial type SFES with journal type superconductor bearing was manufactured. To quantitatively assess the rotational loss by the stator core, the rotational losses by superconductor bearing and the degree of a vacuum were measured. In case of variation of the inner radius and outer radius of the stator core, the rotational losses were measured. From the experimental results, It is confirmed that the rotational loss can be reduced by means of the optimal stator core design.

A Superconductor Flywheel Energy Storage System(SFES) mainly consists of a pair of non-contacting High Temperature Superconductor(HTS) bearings that provide very low frictional losses, a composite flywheel with high energy storage density. The HTS bearings, which offer dynamic stability without active control, are the key technology that distinguishes the SFES from other flywheel energy storage devices, and great effort is being put into developing this technology. The Superconductor Journal Bearing(SJB) mainly consists of HTS bulks and a stator, which holds the HTS bulks and also acts as a cold head. Static properties of HTS bearings provide data to solve problems which may occur easily in a running system. Since stiffness to counter vibration is the main parameter in designing an HTS bearing system, we investigate SJB magnetic force through static properties between the Permanent Magnet(PM) and HTS. We measure stiffness in static condition and the results are used to determine the optimal number of HTS bulks for a 100kWh SFES.
