The purpose of this study is to investigate me characteristics of the air-side heat transfer and pressure drop on the fin pattern of six types of φ 9.52 nun finned-tube heat exchangers. An air-enthalpy Calorimeter is used in this experiment. Experiments are carried out by changing velocity (from 0.7 m/s to 1.5 m/s). From results, we can see that the air-side heat transfer coefficients and the pressure drop depend upon the geometry of the heat exchanger. With increasing the inlet air velocity, the heat transfer and the pressure drop increase linearly and exponentially, respectively. At the same heat transfer area, the heat transfers in the low velocities are nearly the same and those in 1.5 m/s have the maximum 3% difference. The pressure drops have the different trend for the fin patterns.

In the present study, the performance of the heat-pump using EES program has been compared with the experimental data of cooling, heating and defrosting conditions. The performance of the heat pump was measured by the calorimeter of an air enthalpy method. At the cooling, heating and defrosting conditions, the EES data of the capacity, the input power and COP were satisfied within 5% with those of the experimental data. The EES program developed in this study was found to use for the performance estimation of the heat pump.

An experimental study has been performed to investigate the heating performance of the heat pump with the ventilation system under a heating condition. The heating performance of the heat pump were measured by the psychrometric calorimeter and were experimented at the heating standard condition of KS C 9306. Also, the heating performance was studied under the temperature conditions of the ventilation system along the temperature efficiency by using EES program. The heat pump with the ventilation system was higher about 1.5%~3% for the heating capacity and about 4%~9% for COP than that without the ventilation system. The effect of the effective enthalpy efficiency of the ventilation system was not significant for the heat pump performance.
