The superconducting solenoid magnets for high energy physics, bio-technology, nano-technology and medical system use the cryostat to keep superconductivity for themselves and KBSI is starting on a journey for FT-ICR MS development with 21T superconducting magnet, therefore we progressed the conceptual design of cryostat above all. According to advance of investigation in conceptual design, we produced some results and discussed how to deal with design parameter. The results is considered thermal load related on heat invasion due to conduction and radiation and is used to estimate structural stress, thermal stress, contraction due to drops in temperature of cryostat. Also, we reached our object about durations of operation (the duration of LN2 refill is 7 days and the duration of LHe refill is 60 days). But, we feel the need of investigation more detailed cryostat design of 21T superconducting magnet.

The Superconducting Magnet for FT-ICR MS have horizontal type and need horizontal cryostat for superconductivity, therefore we progressed preliminary design of horizontal cryostat. According to advance of investigation related on design of horizontal cryostat, we found many troublesome problem. Above all, we must design cryogen tank and support system in narrow space and relieve heat load within acceptable budget. Also, the detailed information related on preliminary design was obtained and was estimated by using ANSYS.

The study related on support system of cryostat for 21 T horizontal type superconducting magnet is presented. Especially, the deformation behavior of cryostat under magnetic field and thermal contractions at cryogenic temperatures is dealt with the analytical method related on Finite Element Analysis. From the results, we know that the strain by self weight and thermal contraction contribute to serious damage. Also, we will introduce about weight relief design for the structural integrity of support system.

The Jahn-Teller distortion of chalcogenide Fe<SUB>0.9</SUB>M<SUB>0.1</SUB>Cr<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB> (M=Co, Ni, Zn) have been investigated by Mossbauer spectroscopy. The crystal structures of Fe<SUB>0.9</SUB>M<SUB>0.1</SUB>Cr<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB> (M=Co, Ni, Zn) are cubic spinel at room temperature. Magnetoresistance measurements indicate these system is conducting-semiconducting transistion around T<SUB>C</SUB>. Below T<SUB>C</SUB>, the asymmetric line broadening is observed and considered to be dynamic Jahn-Teller distortion. Isomer shift value of the samples at room temperature was about 0.5 mm/s, which means that charge state of Fe ions is ferrous in character. The Ni substitutions for Fe occur to increase the Jahn-Teller relaxation. CMR properties could be explained with magnetic polaron due to Jahn-Teller effect, which is different from both the double exchange interactions of manganite system and the triple exchange interactions of chalcogenide Cu<SUB>x</SUB>Fe<SUB>1 ? x</SUB>Cr<SUB>2</SUB>S<SUB>4</SUB>.

Adiabatic shear band is widely observed in a plastically deformed body for a thermally rate-dependent material, especially at very high strain rates. The localized shear band stems from the evolution of a narrow region in which intensive plastic flow occurs. The shear band often plays as the precursor of ductile fracture during a forming process. The objectives of this study is to investigate the localization behavior and predict the failure by using numerical method. Because of the ease of convergence and the numerical stability, the implicit finite difference scheme is employed in this work. This study considered an isotropic hardening as well as thermal softening as a deformation behavior of material. Furthermore, this paper suggests that a kinematic hardening constitutive equation should be required to predict more accurate strain level wherein a shear band occurs.

ADRs are completely cooling devices with no external plumbing and no moving parts. They are particularly well suited to maintaining a constant-stage temperature, and their thermal cycle is easy to automate. A ADR consists of a paramagnetic salt, salt pill housing and Cu wire connected thermally to a paramagnetic salt. The salt’s entropy depends on both temperature and magnetic field. As the salt absorbs heat at a constant temperature, its entropy slowly increases. Temperature control is aided by the fact that raising or lowering the magnetic field causes heating or cooling with a very short time constant. In this paper, designed the SPH using analysis that consider ADR's cryogenic cooling cycle. The salt's temperature rely on the SPH height and a distance of Cu wire. the ADR's cryogenic cooling experimental and heat transfer analysis use to the basic data for design a distance of Cu wire and the SPH height.
