양노원에 거주하는 노인여성의 기능적 건강과 움직임과 시간과의 관계

이광옥 이화여자대학교 간호과학연구소 1989 Health & Nursing Vol.1 No.-

This descriptive correlational study was undertaken in order to test the relationship between older women's health and the concepts of movement, space and time. For the theoretial background of this study, the researcher used the concept of health according to M. Newman's as Expanding Consciousness. The sampling method was a purposible sampling method technique. A sample of 75 institutionalized older women over the age of 60 from one Senior Citizens Home was obtained. The data were collected from July 18 to July 28, 1989. Health was also measured by S.I.P. (Sickness Impact Profile) which evaluates the impact of sickness on the performance of a wide variety of activity. Movement was measured by walking cadence, the number of steps walked per minute. Time was measured by the perceived duration of a 40- second interval of clock time using the production method. The pearson correlation technique was used to determine by the noncausal relationship between the concepts of movement and time postulation by Newman's framework of health. Stepwise multiple linar regression was used to examine the independent contributions of age, and control variables-pulse, respiration, temperature, length of residence and time of data collection-analyse the explanation of movement, time and health. The results included the following : 1. The internal consistency reliability of the S.I.P. was high (Cronbach's Alpha=.85) : The Test -Retest coefficient of stability of movement was r=.86, and of stability of time was r=.81. 2. The older women's mean age was 76.74 (SD= 0.33), mean pulse was 78.6/min.(SD=10.61), mean respiration was 21.11 / min. (SD=2.44 ), mean length of residence was 69.75 months(SD=90.7 5), mean time of data collection was 14.51 hours (SD=2.18 ). The mean overall percent score of health was 13.00 in range from 0 to 1001(SD=6 .11). The lower the score the higher the health functioning. movement score was 84.88 steps/ min (SD=20.02 ), and the perceived duration of time was 24.44 sec. (SD=14.51). 3. There was positive relationship between health and movement (r=-.358, p=.000). Movement, respiration, age, and temperature were related to health in a stepwise manner and accounted for 31 % of the health variance. Movement accounted for 16 % of the variance. 4. There was no statistically significant correlation between health and time(r=-.013, p=.901). 5. There was an inverse relationship between movement and time(r=-.287, p=.006). Health, perceived duration of time, and length of residence were related to moverment in a stepwise manner and the three variables together accounted for 24 % of the movement variable. Perceived duration of time accounted for 8 % of the movement variable. In conclusion, the significant relationship between health and movement, and between movement and time supported Newman's Theory. Speed inherant in both movement and time, may be an important qualitative dimension of functional health. Measurement of time duration among Korean people is not linear and proved difficult for the subjects. A difficult measure of time duration is needed for study with oriental subjects. Future research should focus on expanding the generalzability and validity of movement as a measure of health, and speed as a qualitative dimension of functional health. Also, cohorts of older people with varying characteristics should be studied to specify the types of activity associated with walking cadence.

한국인의 건강생활양상에 대한 실체이론 연구 : A Grounded Theory Approach

        이광옥,양순옥 이화여자대학교 간호과학연구소 1990 Health & Nursing Vol.2 No.-

Nursing's purpose being the promotion of health, the concept of health and health life style patterns within the nursing paradigm needs to be defined in every culture. The paradigm components must be explored for the meaning given by the people in their traditional thought and philosophy. Korean nursing, wanting to become culturally, acceptable, satisfying and effective, is learning to recognize, respect and develop Korean health beliefs, values, and behaviors. The problem addressed by this qualitative study was to identify Korean health life styles which would contribute to the planning professional nursing care and the development of Korean nursing theory. Specific objectives were to identify Korean health life patterns and interpreat the identified patterns from the world view of traditional Korea and philosophy, and to compare the data with nursing health concepts identified in a previous study in this research series. Leininger's Transculal Nursing Theory and Korean philosophy and thought prvided theoretical support for the study. The informents were 77 urban mothers from a variety of social levels and family patterns ; traditionally mothers are responsible for the family's health. The concentrated interviews was from February to June, 1990 ; interviews were done Health life style pattern categories emersing from the data, "eat natural foods", "live in harmony with the natural (includes the humen, family extending to the cosmos)", "exchange energy in resonant interaction with nature", "prevent dishby researchers, Grounded Theory guided the research methodology, and most were recorded on audiotape. armony", and "live faithful life of service to others." These substantive categoris are most consistant with Korean health concepts identified in previous research created by the investigator ; harmony is a reflection of energy and movement whose source is in providential grace. This study should help nurses understand clints as reflection of the traditional culture when planning nursing practice and to develop health education corresponding to cultural values toward health promotion.

      • 靑年期 適應狀態와 健康問題 呼訴에 關한 硏究 : 一部 女大生을 中心으로

李光玉,邊英順 梨花女子大學校 韓國生活科學硏究院 1986 韓國生活科學硏究院 論叢 Vol.38 No.-

Adolescence has been identified as a very stressful stage of development due particularly to the "identity crisis" and difficulty dealing with change that seems to be more constant than stability. To assist adolescents deal with this period, one of the nurses' roles is the identification of life events that contribute to stress. The purposes of this study were: 1. The identification of life events that were the problems of the youth adaptation. 2. The association between the status of youth adaptation and the health problem complaints. 3. The analysis of the characteristics that are affected by youth adaptation. The study sample consisted of 700 Ewha Womans University students who were attended a lecture of the family nursing subject during the first semester, 1985. The tools used for the collection of data were "a youth adaptation rating scale" by Sue Beell, Gayle Schmidt and the Modified Cornell Medical Index. The data was treated by a computer(S.A.S.) used the ratio value(degree of severity), percentage, mean score, analysis of varience The results were as follows: 1. The items of the life events that are the problems of the youth adaptation were "Death of a parent" (4.68±0.80), "parents getting a divorce(Separation)" (4.49±0.84), "getting expelled(suspended)"' (4.34±0.86), "making career decisions(college, majors)" (4.11±0.91). These items were emotional stresses caused by self anxiety and conflict and lead to difficulties of the freedom of selection and realities of life as a social factors. 2. There was a significant association between the physiological & serial basic needs and physical & mental health complaints, that is, the number of the physical & mental health complaints were higher in the students who did not fulfill the physiological & social basic needs. 3. The affected characteristics of the youth adaptation were age, religion." economic status, birth place, father's occupation, family system, relation with parents during the growth. 4. A youth adaptation rating scale used in this study as a tool was cronbach's α=0.91.

Vol.9 No.2

The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental information for the development of new sex education image media through the analysis of those tools produced by Planned Parenthood Federation of Korea. Twenty three video tapes related to the sex education were analysed. The data were sampled on the basis of the sex education instructions for primary and secondary schools published by the Seoul Office of Education in 1996 and the list of sex education information composed by the Planned Parenthood Federation of Korea with the following requirements. 1) The education materials are oriented to the middle and high school students as well a juveniles and are being used in public health centers and schools. 2) The education materials are not confined to the single subject such as AIDS or contraception. Because this study is focused on the analysis of image media, an analysis method widely and effectively used in public media study was chosen. The frequency analysis and percentage treatment were done by an SAS program. The results of the study are as follows : 1. An analysis of the material structure type showed that the frequency of the following subjects in 15 video tapes, composed as drama and cartoon, had this decreasing orde : sex behavior, sex relation ships, sex health, human development, personal technique, and society and culture. 2. The eight tapes of explanation and counseling showed a different sequence from that of the drama and cartoon material, primarily treating human development with 5419 seconds (47.9%) of type. The following were also considered in decreasing order: at 2000seconds (17.6%) sex behavior, at 1366 seconds (12.1%) sex health, at 1240 seconds (11.0%) society and culture, at 667 seconds (6.0%) relation ships, and at 611 seconds (5.4%) personal technique. 3. In a thematic analysis those education materials dealing with human development show this frequency sequence: anatomic physiology, reproduction, and adolescence. In relation, ships the sequence is dates, love, marriage and vows, and family. For personal technique, it is expressed as asking for help, and an empnasis on moral values. For sex behavior, they focus on abstinence, the co-responsibility of sex behavior, the sexual response of the human, and sexual nightmares. For the sex health area, the focus is contraception with abortion and reproductive health following that. In society and culture diversity is considered. 4. An analysis of the differences in production and content between 1980s and 1990s was also done. For materials produced in the 1980s the frequency of the subjects follows this order: sex behavior, human development, relation ships, sex health, personal technique, and society and culture with sub subjects such as abstinence, dating, adolescence, anatomic physiology, reproduction, calls for help, and the sexual response of a human being. For materials produced in the 1990s, highest frequency was sex behavior, the same as the 1980s. The rest of the material follows this decreasing order: relationships, human development, sex health, society and culture, and personal technique with sub subjects such as dating, co-resposibility in sex behavior, abstinence, and love frequently considered.
